Excellent Josh . I use the same method when cleaning 1911 mags except I contain the spring under the mag follower instead of the base plate. It never occurred to me to do the the reverse to install the extended base plate !
Excellent tip. These extensions were frustrating to me for two reasons: they were a bugger to get on, and they wouldn’t feed. This tip clears up one of those problems. The other was the follower getting caught in the transition between the extension and the mag body. Happened on all of my mags no matter what I did. So I took a small file and added a slight radius to the mag at the transition point. Didn’t take much, just slightly more than breaking the edge. Now they work flawlessly.
I recently put 18 of these extension on. I used the same method of install as you. Got about 50/50 on function. Took all of them apart and polished all the sharp edges on the magazine followers. Also had to take burrs off the opening on the bottom of some mags. After this..... all 18 are 100% reliable with 13 rd capacity. All of the function issues fell on CZ and their crappy manufacturing tolerances. It was well worth the extra work to make them work properly!!! 👍
18 is a pile of 13 round mags😁 Ive never bad to debur or anything but I have the 4 or 5 ive been using forever so that may not be the case with the current mag and extensions. Glad you got em all working
Awesome! Definitely works using this method. You learn to hear that “click,” as the spring pops into the bottom extension. I had been a bit pissed that these were not working as advertised. You need to get Anarchy Outdoors to link to this video. Thanks!
100% agree, I had to fiddle around with mine ALOT to get everything to square up and drop into the extension. This video would have been gold about a month ago
Josh you are the man! I just purchased 2 CZ’s one with Manners stock and the other has the Boyd’s At One. Now to dress them out! I really appreciate all your info so I can make the best buying decisions when purchasing all this! Keep it coming!
Just fought this for 15 minutes. I sub to your channel (thanks for all the great content!) came across this video. And BAM! Mag works perfect now. Thanks Josh
Thanks for this video. I bought mag extensions from MK Machining and had a hell of a time. I actually gave up and bought 2 from Anarchy. Still had problems because I buggered up my springs pretty badly. It took a bit to straighten them out to get them to run. MKM don't have the hole in the center to insert a tool to fiddle with the spring. I'll try your method next time I have them apart. 2 new 10 rd mags will be on order for me soon to put my MKM extensions on.
Fantastic tip! Thanks Josh. I have problems removing the Anarchy Outdoors +3 extension because the follower spring is extended all the way into the extension. Is there a trick to getting it off? Thanks again
OK, I "Think" I've got it. I believe the follower was hanging uo on the square edges of the extension. I beveled those flat square edges and it seems to be working now. I'll see how it performs next time I get to shoot.
I'm about at the end of my rope with these mags. I bought 3. 2 of them worked to start with. One never worked with more than 10 rounds. At this point I only have 1 that works at all. The other 2 don't work period. The rounds won't stack or feed right. They hang up and stick constantly. I've taken them apart, cleaned them, put them back together over and over. Buying these was one of the worst gun purchases I've ever made lol.
Hey Josh, Just got into a CZ 457 thanks to your great videos.. So now that I have been sorting out what ammo it likes I was wondering where to buy Eley in bulk? I like the Tenex and team for warming up. Thanks !
Yes, I’m now that guy…. I removed the extension to adjust the spring and watched my detent disappear 😖. Anarchy Outdoors couldn’t help and no response from their supplier. So Any idea where else I might find a replacement?? In the meantime a paper clip is my friend 😵💫 Thanks in advance.
Looks like this vid might have sold AOD out of these extensions. Looked this morning and I recall them being available. Then I realized I didn’t recall how many I needed to finish off all my 10 round mags. Got home to count and went back to buy them. Now OOS.
Josh, I’m thinking of replacing my stock on a CZ 452 to a Boyd’s At One. Will I need to install pillars or glass bed it, or is the inletting pretty precise from Boyd’s? I know CZ now sells a ton with their stocks on them but do not know if CZ does some extra fitting?
I got 3 of these after seeing your videos. They loaded up fine, took them to the range today and I get 2 or 3 shots out of them and the follower sticks, won't lift any remaining rounds up. Removed the remaining cartridges. Still stuck down. Happened on 2 of 3 mags. Haven't tried the 3rd yet. Already tried multidirectional percussive maintenance. Any tips?
Pull your springs and check them. That's the problem I had when I bent my springs up. It took a while to straighten them out to where the mags would run again.
After I installed the 3 round extension I loaded 13 rounds, but when removed the rounds the follower did not want to return to the top of the mag. What did I do wrong?
I have tried and tried and tried and I cannot get mine to hold more than 10 rds. It seems to me the follower is whats hanging on the extension. I'm beginning to think this thing is a pos.
Spring and detent will go flying! Thanks for keeping this available for new cz457 owners.
Got 2 of these and thanks to this video they were installed with no problems, 1 holds 12 and the other holds 13, thanks for the great tips

Thank you Josh. Nice to actually see a video on this. I`ve used this exact same method for years on most of my mags.

Just the tip I needed to get the spring to seat. Both mags now hold 13.

That sucks brother. I got 2 or 3 i still run now with no issues. Have you reached out to them about em?
@PursuitofAccuracy I haven't. I don't know who to reach out to. And don't know what they would do if I did tbh.

Killough shooting sports is where I get it from
I wish you could post photo comments I found 14 round magazines from m&k machining I bought 5 and none of them feed in my rifle

@@jwschroeder804 I've never actually looked for one to replace. I think I lost 1 and then stole it from a 5 round mag lol
Just bought some l3i mags for my b14r because the b14r mags don't feed in the woox chassis.. hoping they work great fingers 🤞

Yikes. Sorry about that haha.
@@PursuitofAccuracy nonsense. It’s great for AOD and I know they will make more.
@@austincrowe5194 I reached out to them to see if it was a spike in the extension sales or if its just dumb luck haha

The at one is the worst inletted stock ive seen in a long time.
My suggestion is to avoid it completely
I have a question what is the difference between a 22lr rimfire heavy cannon and a normal cannon??
How much wear have you seen in your mags with all that shooting? Have you worn any out?
Nothing ive noticed. Good to go

Get a small file and chamfer the internal sides of the mag at the base.
What island did you shoot the FX airguns on with Chris..?
I dont think it has a name. Its just a little island on the intercoastal

hello I have a question the kestrel 5700 ballistics and sufficient for 22lr??
The 5700 does a great job with 22lr
@@PursuitofAccuracy thank you
why not banana mag from cz512
Remember everyone these DO NOT WORK WITH 22 WMR or .17 HMR ROUNDS. Only .22LR
Life saver haha
extra 3 rounds, not 5!?! odd.
Most extensions are 3-4 rounds because they use the factory spring
I think you're getting shadow banned..
? What ya mean
