I have RA and now diabetes from being on prednisone for years. Did my first 36 hrs fast a few weeks ago. Lost 3.6lbs and kept it off just doing IF since then. Weight is coming off slow, but loved the 36 hr fast! So much energy 💪

On an extended fast, I make a faux broth with Redmond’s season salt and hot water. It helps me push through and replenish my minerals.

I do the same during prolonged fasts, 24H and longer. Additionally, I stir in a pinch of finely-ground Italian seasoning as those Mediterranean herbs-Sage, Rosemary, Thyme, Oregano- help me get a pretty good satiation effect, and, according to Thomas DeLauer, they also aid with the activation of PPAR-alpha, which research shows it to promote uptake, utilization, and catabolism of fatty acids by upregulation of genes involved in fatty acid transport, fatty acid binding and activation:)

Props to Dr. Fung! I started IF 7 years ago, before listening to him, so it took me a bit longer to figure out my personal protocol but after a couple years I dropped 35 pounds and also kept it off no matter what I ate!

@@tiffanyvalencia8415 I agree with you on this! I adore Dr Fung, Dr Mindy etc .. but, we all need to be researchers for ourselves, to listen to our body. I do IF on my way😁, according to my research on me, not just on science or others experiences.
And it will be always new info, new reaction of my body etc. So, I follow my body, and not what anybody telling what is good or not good for me! I lovevto read/hear everybody's experiences, scientific researches, but I choose according to my body needs.

Another good info filled video! About a week after our 2 day fast my whole body started to feel achy. 😫 I watched your 1st video on mineral loss, I'm not a big salt or pepper user, however, that day I immediately made a mineral recipe my son sent me. The next day the achy feeling was gone. Since then I've incorporated 32 oz of this mineral rich formula in my regular water routine. Energy is back and I'm back to exercising. I thank God for your timely advice. 🙏 keep up the good work. 👍

Two years ago I started Intermittent Fasting and lost 75 pounds. In addition I switched to a High Fat/Low Carb Diet. I avoid sugar and processed foods, which are very unhealthy and will cause weight gain. So after going from obese to normal weight I did get a bit lazy and started to return to bad habits. No surprise my weight started to increase. Rather than give up, I knew exactly what worked and returned back to my diet and Intermittent Fasting . It took time, but the excess weight was lost. The moral to my story is there is no failure, just a reminder to return back to a healthy diet and lifestyle.

I’ve been following you for about two months now and I’ve been stuck at 174 for two years nothing I did would get the weight down until I started fasting 72 hours a week. On these days I eat a heaping tablespoon of seamoss gel in the morning and at night. After 3 weeks of no food 3 days a week for 3 weeks and I’m down to 154.2!!! I’m within 10 to 15 pounds of my weight loss goals (depending on the day🤣) I noticed that as I lost weight and my body had less fat to burn my appetite is out of control. I started eating more of the good foods, veggie’s, high quality protein, etc. but it was only when I binged like a crazy women on carbs that don’t agree with my sinuses, stomach or general sense of health and well being that my appetite felt satisfied and satiated…what’s going on here and what can I do about this? When I first started fasting limiting carbs and doing keto was not hard at all. Thanks, I love your channel and recommend it to friends daily!

Some things to consider: carbs are not all equal; you might have food intolerances/allergies. Grains are the most common culprit. You might do okay with other kinds of carbs, such as squashes, roots, and legumes. You might also experiment with different fiber sources (psyllium, beta glucans - which is the kind of fiber found in oats and barley but is available as a supplement by itself). Appetite and satiety have a lot of different factors. One thing I discovered recently is that the colon has stretch receptors that produce serotonin when our intestines are stretched, so taking psyllium has been very calming for me. YMMV! I always loved how I felt after eating barley or oats, but I haven't eaten them for years because of food intolerance and they're high carb, so I'm looking forward to trying the beta glucan! I also stopped having sinus issues when I upped my quercetin to 1000 mg. I hope something I've said helps.

How does fermenting something add minerals? Let's say I buy cabbage from the supermarket that has no trace minerals due to soil depletion. I ferment it and make kimchi out of it, and the bacteria somehow add minerals that weren't there? I thought fermenting just meant bacteria eating the carbs and turning it into vinegar.
