Thank you. I've been intermittent fasting for at least 18 hours since May . . I've had maybe three days of feasting in that time .. I feel fantastic. Thanks for your great videos. I share with everyone who will listen. (FYI..I've lost over 30 lbs.. although my fasting is more about healing my cells)..I'm 68 yrs old.. this year is my 50th reunion. Most of my classmates are already dead . I'm pretty sure I'm going to live to 100.

Dr. Mindy just completed 72 hours of fast. Second time. The third day was so calming. I wasn't ravenous, on the contrary I felt I could extend it to another 24! Thanks for the video. Inner intelligence works on inner engineering.
it starts getting good at 3-4 days. 5-7 is what i usually do, 2-4 times a year. a 10 day really isn't any harder than a 5 day, but i'm already fit so i'm not sure when u hit diminishing returns.
Beginners Guide I am water fasting now. At 42 hours now. Had tons of energy yesterday when i worked from 5AM - 9PM. So grateful for your encouragement & videos. @@Loriag888 Did 3 days last week to help with my autoimmune condition called Lichen Planus. But I got dehydrated from 3 days of blowing, hauling & burning leaves (when I wasn’t working). 72 hours is supposed to help with autoimmune conditions according to Mindy Peltz! Be glad you can do 24 hours.
My translation: intermittent fast for minimum 17h (to start autophagy), eat keto / carnivore during eating window plus break the fast with less than 20g of protein will keep you in both ketosis and autophagy. Probably not sustainable long term due to potential calorie deficit but good as a self repair protocol without the strain of full on water fast. Thank you Dr. Mindy for a brilliant delivery ❤
I just wanna say it's so great to find a Dr that actually knows and understands how the body works. I swear some of the MD's I've been to have just memorized what pharmaceutical to prescribe for which symptom and never took the time to understand how the human body works.

The best part of Dr Mindy’s advice that it will not break your bank. She gives a spectrum of choices that you can accommodate within your budget. While I was planning my fast and meal for the next couple of weeks, I found I could arrange all the food already in my home for two weeks and have fasting variations with good ketobiotic meal- I did not have to go beyond my way to buy anything extra from the grocery, or expand my budget. All I had to do was make some healthy choices- pick up a bag of avocados instead of loaves. Being a solo parent with tight budget I am extending deepest thank to you. I have lost 30 lb with various 15-18-36 hr fasting in last 5 months. I started doing 72 hr fast from last month, I do not even bother about my weight loss right now, I feel better, my mood swings-anxiety are gone, and my focus is so sharp- I feel good all the time! I think breakfast has been vilified. I am a health coach and speak to people all day and they have the misconception that you you are only intermittent fasting if you skip breakfast. You are and can still practice intermittent fasting with any fasting window greater then 12 hours (Dr. Valter Longo) Personally, I prefer to skip dinner. There are is a lot of science that shows eating the majority of calories earlier in the day supports good health.
I don’t think it’s vilified as much as it’s inconvenient and as we know, adherence is the most important thing in IF. People usually have little appetite in the morning and social eating usually happens during dinner time.
I like it if I have time to make it. Because then it's very easy to go all day at work without eating. Then come home and make dinner. So I skip lunch.
Many of us prefer to extend our daily fasting window. The term “break-fast“ implies what it does. You preferred to skip dinner, well, I skip that one too. LOL. And eat during a four hour window mid day.
I thought that all the science has said that as soon as you consume calories, you will be kicked out of Autophagy. So now you are saying that we can continue Autophagy during our eating window w consuming 20g of protein or less???? Perhaps you could do a video concerning the healing benefits of fasting and Autophagy. Not for hormone nor weight loss and clarify this 20g of protein idea. Yes. I would like to see proff of this too. Every where I read, the fast is broken ( some say you can have under 50 calories) when you eat. Also, takes longer then 17 hours to start autophagy in all of the scientific studies I have seen.

I don‘ really understand the under 20g protein. None of the other UA-cam low carb/keto experts seems to suggest such a low intake of protein. Is there anyway you can explain the reasoning behind this please?

So can one stay in continuous autophagy for a week say if you have 2 small carnivore meals of 20g protein each day? Sorry but I‘m just confused as I thought autophagy ends as soon as you eat anything? I often see questions and videos about even a bullet proof coffee breaking a fast. I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! I am 51 and have been overweight since age 5. I have studied weight loss, nutrition, physiology, exercise, etc. for 30 years to try to figure it out!!! Until I found Fast Like a Girl I made tiny steps but couldn't seem to make much progress. I followed the programs and they didn't work. I'd lose a little then gain it back. I even got a BS in Psychology and an MS in Addiction Counseling trying to figure myself out. I got up to 418 pounds the end of 2021 and am barely whittling it off. I even flew to Costa Rica for a 24-day water fast and barely budged!! I have been reading and rereading Fast Like a Girl, watching tons of your videos and I am DETERMINED that this will be the LAST thing I ever try because your videos speak to me as to why I was having cataplexy and doctors said nothing was wrong. Why my insulin was SUPER high and maybe why my blood sugar was super low..... I don't fit ANY of the expectations from anyone. I have only been trying to follow your program for a couple of weeks but I wanted to thank you for all that you are teaching and I will keep moving along!

You are the bomb Dr. Mindy. I’ve been trying to heal a bakers cyst through fasting. But it turns out that I have other issues. Like I think I have IR and a fatty liver. I’ve been fastin 9 weeks today. Have worked up to OMAD. 0 carb is what I strive to. Moderate Protein high fat. Done a few 36’s 43’s my BG is between 77 and 105 most of the time ketones .5 to 3.5 GKI is good. But my knee is healing very very very slowly. And the weight won’t come off. I have to longer fast to make the scale move. My mind is clear and am feeling better. But my knee oh this bakers cyst is painful. This journey has been very enlightening. Thank you for all these videos. I’m gonna do the next resetter. 62 yo. Would love to drop 75 lbs.

BEGINNERS GUIDE please. I am just now starting my fasting journey. It seems easier to me to skip breakfast because I was never a huge breakfast eater.. during my workday it's too difficult to eat breakfast in the mornings and then get to work and it's just a lot going on. So the only time I ever generally ate breakfast was on off days. So in my short journey of about 7 to 10 days today was the first day that I actually went 14 hours without eating. So after watching your video I see that between 14 and 17 hours will be optimal for me. So far so good. 😊 thank you so much for sharing your information. ❤

For the past year I've had to resort to exceeded dosage over dosage by 1 extra pill for each dose in addition to oxycodone 10mg at bedtime. I have been on Sergei's 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge for 2 weeks. I've done all organic ingredients. I follow the" Dirty doz & the clean 16". By the 3rd werk of smoothies l started intermittent fasting. Within 4 days l was fluctuating between 17-21 hrs of fasting. By the morning of the 5th l no longer had to take Any pain meds for my aryhritis, Amazing! I've taken a week off & gradually had to start taking tylenol. For some of us we wake up with high blood sugar. For me, I call breakfast the deadly meal.

I'm going to fast 45 hours a few days before surgery.
In other words, if you do longer fast such as fasts greater than 24 hrs, you are most likely achieving both ketosis and autophagy.

You lacked micro-nutriens. The first thing the body does when it lacks micros it shedds unnesesary hair, nails, bones etc
Try eating a few eggs per day. It really makes hair and nails grow like crazy, and also the yolks are good for glowing skin. I eat 3-4 eggs a day.

I don‘ really understand the under 20g protein. None of the other UA-cam low carb/keto experts seems to suggest such a low intake of protein. Is there anyway you can explain the reasoning behind this please?

@@karendavis5988 so 20g protein but how much fat or does that not matter? And is there a calorie limit? And what about carbs from veggies? Or are you saying it should be a small fatty carnivore meal? So can one stay in continuous autophagy for a week say if you have 2 small carnivore meals of 20g protein each day? Sorry but I‘m just confused as I thought autophagy ends as soon as you eat anything? I often see questions and videos about even a bullet proof coffee breaking a fast. Or am I just confusing a fast with autophagy?
@@MsTony1402 I completely agree with you. Where is the proff? I wish their was some way to measure it. Dr. Mindy is the only one that says this. Also if you look at her fasting guides, it will show you the marcos for that fast. You don't only need to eat meat.
I LOVE YOUR VIDEOS!! I am 51 and have been overweight since age 5. I have studied weight loss, nutrition, physiology, exercise, etc. for 30 years to try to figure it out!!! Until I found Fast Like a Girl I made tiny steps but couldn't seem to make much progress. I followed the programs and they didn't work. I'd lose a little then gain it back. I even got a BS in Psychology and an MS in Addiction Counseling trying to figure myself out. I got up to 418 pounds the end of 2021 and am barely whittling it off. I even flew to Costa Rica for a 24-day water fast and barely budged!! I have been reading and rereading Fast Like a Girl, watching tons of your videos and I am DETERMINED that this will be the LAST thing I ever try because your videos speak to me as to why I was having cataplexy and doctors said nothing was wrong. Why my insulin was SUPER high and maybe why my blood sugar was super low..... I don't fit ANY of the expectations from anyone. I have only been trying to follow your program for a couple of weeks but I wanted to thank you for all that you are teaching and I will keep moving along!

You are the bomb Dr. Mindy. I’ve been trying to heal a bakers cyst through fasting. But it turns out that I have other issues. Like I think I have IR and a fatty liver. I’ve been fastin 9 weeks today. Have worked up to OMAD. 0 carb is what I strive to. Moderate Protein high fat. Done a few 36’s 43’s my BG is between 77 and 105 most of the time ketones .5 to 3.5 GKI is good. But my knee is healing very very very slowly. And the weight won’t come off. I have to longer fast to make the scale move. My mind is clear and am feeling better. But my knee oh this bakers cyst is painful. This journey has been very enlightening. Thank you for all these videos. I’m gonna do the next resetter. 62 yo. Would love to drop 75 lbs.

BEGINNERS GUIDE please. I am just now starting my fasting journey. It seems easier to me to skip breakfast because I was never a huge breakfast eater.. during my workday it's too difficult to eat breakfast in the mornings and then get to work and it's just a lot going on. So the only time I ever generally ate breakfast was on off days. So in my short journey of about 7 to 10 days today was the first day that I actually went 14 hours without eating. So after watching your video I see that between 14 and 17 hours will be optimal for me. So far so good. 😊 thank you so much for sharing your information. ❤

@@DrMindyPelz Thank you for the promp reply. I'm also on a mission to let people know of all the benefits of int fasting. I've been on tylenol extended release for over 10 years. For the past year I've had to resort to exceeded dosage over dosage by 1 extra pill for each dose in addition to oxycodone 10mg at bedtime. I have been on Sergei's 30 Day Green Smoothie Challenge for 2 weeks. I've done all organic ingredients. I follow the" Dirty doz & the clean 16". By the 3rd werk of smoothies l started intermittent fasting. Within 4 days l was fluctuating between 17-21 hrs of fasting. By the morning of the 5th l no longer had to take Any pain meds for my aryhritis, Amazing! I've taken a week off & gradually had to start taking tylenol. Tired of pain, so l resumed fasting after 4 days of pain.
