The vocalist is Robert Plant, he also played harmonica. The band was created in 1968 by the guitarist, Jimmy Page. Jimmy played all the guitars, some mandolin, and some banjo. He produced all their albums as well. John Paul Jones was the bassist/keyboardist and John Bonham was the drummer. The band split when Bonham died in 1980. They were a heavy blues/hard rock band but they played a variety of styles like acoustic, folk, funk, epics, ballads, and ethereal sounding, almost prog rock. My recommendation for new listeners is to go in album/track order because of you only do requests, you'll miss a lot of great music. The first song from their first album is called Good Times Bad Times. Give it a try!
This may be heresy, but their first album is my favorite. You're right, listening to the whole album is important. LZ, Page in particular, was very much of the opinion that an album was an entire entity. The songs that are on an album are on there for a reason. The order they're in is for a reason. It's all deliberate.
I was a Page head until I saw a concert by John Paul Jones where he was playing a lot of lap steel guitar along with all the other instruments he plays. It made me wonder how much of the early Led Zep might have been influenced or played by him. Page/Plant had no trouble "borrowing other artists material" why not John Paul Jones licks too? Either way these guy put down some awesome tracks and "Fool in the Rain" and "Hot Dog" or "I'm Gonna Crawl" should be added to any playlist as a testament to their later phase where they were trying to re-invent themselves and become relevant again. Sadly John Bonham dying put and end to the era. Looking back at The Song Remains the Same movie and the spark they had it isn't hard to understand why they shelved Led Zeppelin because you can't recreate that magic period and all things must pass … The Doors attempted two albums after Jim and toured closely after his death, it was a tragic and futile endeavor..
They were heavily influenced by the Delta Blues. Try When the Levee Breaks. It’s their cover of a 1929 blues song about the Great Mississippi River Flood of 1927.
The singer and drummer had just turned 20 years old when they did this and the band only met for the 1st time a few months before they recorded this album
eatthisvr6 Sort of. Plant and Bonham were in a band together, called Band Of Joy. But, yeah. Both were just 19-20 years old when they formed/joined Led Zeppelin.

Robert Plant the golden god of rock n roll. Big time blues influence for him, clearly. Zeppelin is amazing all four of them were masters of their craft. Great reaction thanks :)
Planet rock did a poll to make the theoretical perfect band. Singer drummer bass and guitar. You can pick anybody ever. Robert plant and John Bonham came number 1 for singer and drummer. Jimmy page came 2nd for guitar and John Paul Jones came 3rd for bass!! So that means the theoretical best band ever basically is led zeppelin lol
One of my favorite Robert Plant vocal moments is "I Can't Quit You Baby" live at the Royal Albert Hall 1970. If you have a listen you'll understand why.
“That growl he got in there is beastie bro.” Ever since I heard Robert plants voice I’ve been trying to find the words to describe it, but you’ve finally done it 😂
Like ACDC, Zepp seems to have two leads in the band, the lead singer and the guitarist. However, every musician in the groups are super accomplished and back them up to the tee. You have some of the greatest reactions I have seen. I love your spontaneity and musical understanding, as you have a very good voice yourself. Thanks for the reprieve from the world at large right now. You bring fun and joy to the art of listening to music. Cheers from Canada
Subscribed. Thank you for this recation! I'm so here for your Zep's journey. And if you love blues rock you might've just found your favorite band because Led Zeppelin does blues rock like no one else does. Check out Since I've Been Loving You (studio and live version at Madison Square Garden in 1973), You Shook Me, I Can't Quit You Baby (studio and live version at Royal Albert Hall in 1970), Bring It On Home, When the Levee Breaks, In My Time of Dying, I'm Gonna Crawl. These songs are the epitome of blues rock.
September is Led Zep's month, because they formed in september. That's why the fans call it "Zeptember". You should binge listen lots of Zep songs in this month.
In terms of Robert Plant's best vocals, my #1 has gotta be "Since I've Been Loving You" (that guitar solo - *swoon*) ... "Babe, I'm Gonna Leave You" and "Nobody's Fault But Mine" are up there too. Oh, and you'll probably appreciate the overall aesthetic of "When The Levee Breaks".
Now try "In My Time of Dying", "Since I've Been Loving You", and the "Lemon Song". Just type Led Zeppelin into the search.. you can't go wrong with any of the results lol.

Sit back and enjoy the journey - and take your time savoring it. Led Zeppelin has an unbelievable number of amazing songs. That was one. It is far from the last.
Many more from Led Zeppelin you can check out that are top hits like, "When The Levee Breaks", "Black Dog", "Stairway To Heaven", "No Quarter", "Ramble On", "The Immigrant Song", The Lemon Song" etc.
Love your LZ song reactions. I was 20 years old in college when their music came out in 1968, over 50 years ago, and you have to realize the impact this had on young people at the time, when the youth of America had pretty much been listening to the Beatles and the Stones then. Nothing like this music of LZ had ever been heard before. It is still as good today, over 50 years later. I encourage you to watch the documentary of LZ on UA-cam, Dazed and Confused, about the history of LZ (ua-cam.com/video/wM6jG6OxfjE/v-deo.html), and to watch a black & white documentary of LZ's first public performance in September, 1968 at a teen club in some town in Denmark that was broadcast on tv (ua-cam.com/video/k-WSbMW7BPc/v-deo.html), to give you a full flavor of Led Zeppelin. They really were a phenomenal group.
LED ZEPPELIN still FLYING HIGH FOR 50 YEARS! may I suggest "When the Levee Breaks" & John Bonham's drum solo "Moby Dick"! BEST band EVER! and a real kicker..."The Lemon Song" from their live concert at the Royal Albert Hall in 1970! UNBELIEVABLE! ...welcome to the universe! ☮️
You are discovering the roots and essence of your own beautiful black musical culture being honoured, celebrated and passionately serenaded back to you. Welcome to Led Zeppelin.
No, "some" of Lynard Skynard died in a plane crash. The drummer for Zeppelin died from drinking 40 shots, passing out on his back, throwing up and then suffocating on his vomit. They broke up right after in 1980. The singer, Robert Plant and drummer, John Bonham were 19 years old when they made this song in 1969. The guitarist and mastermind and group founder is Jimmy Page. The bassist is John Paul Jones. All four members are considered some of the greatest performers of all time in what they do and the drummer is considered the greatest drummer of all time. This is the biggest group of the 70's and have sold like the 3rd most albums of all time. Every rock band since has been influenced in some way by Zeppelin.
The only member of the band that died is John Bonham, the drummer. The rest of the guys are still alive and still making music. And that voice that you love is Robert Plant, guitar is Jimmy Page and bass is John Paul Jones. As far as suggestions for more Zeppelin, you really can’t go wrong with anything by them. Try Babe I’m Gonna Leave You, The Rover, Whole Lotta Love, You shook Me. I’d Start at the beginning of their catalog and work my way through and then get into their live stuff. Their live shows are like a whole new band. What they did live is AMAZING!
Led zeppelin is my favorite band ever lol....if get a chance plz do Pink Floyd "the great gig in the sky" its one of the greatest vocal solos of all time.....keep up the good work and ✌

The band with the plane crash was Lynyrd Skynyrd. The drummer is the only member of Led Zeppelin that passed away. Robert Plant the singer is still putting out music and touring.
Dude, you really need to listen to these albums from the beginning of side 1 to the end of side 2 to really experience the feeling of what the band was doing at the time, like we did when they were just released. This is especially true for listening to The Who and Pink Floyd albums. They were written with that intent in mind and developed and told stories. Listening to them one song at a time in isolation from the rest of the album when you don’t know the album is like looking at a painting but without the color blue. FM radio stations back then would play entire albums without break.
Like the other dude mentioned, Babe I’m Gonna Leave You is FIRE. Another one you might like that’s also fuckin Fire is Back Door Man by The Doors. Jim Morrison is another legendary singer that’s super bluesy even though The Doors didn’t do as much straight blues as early Led Zeppelin did. Back Door Man is a cover as well. Led Zeppelin was British by the way. The blues had a HUGE influence in 60s and 70s rock and a lot of those guys crankin out legendary blues based rock at the time were coming from England. The Doors were American.
Led Zeppelin were first formed in 1968 in England. Apart from Robert Plant ( vocals and harmonica) Jimmy Page (lead guitar) John Paul Jones (bass and keyboard) and John Boham (drums) had been much sought after session men around London recording studios in the mid 1960s. Jimmy Page formed the band, and auditioned a young 19 year old Robert Plant for vocals. He got the job! All the members of Zeppelin were great admirers of old school black blues. Other British bands from the 1960s who were also greatly influenced by the blues were Cream, Rolling Stones and Pink Floyd.
Loved your reaction on this one! That singer is Robert Plant, one of best in rock! Jimmy Page, one of the greats, is the guitarist and plays other stringed instruments. On the song you just listened to, Page plays his electric guitar with a violin bow (or perhaps it's a cello bow) in the middle section before he goes into his blistering solo. John Bonham is considered perhaps the best drummer in rock ever. And the bass player, John Paul Jones, who also plays keyboards and other instruments, is considered one of the best with his instruments too. Every member of that band is a legend! As some have already indicated, you should definitely listen to "Since I've Been Loving You" next. And if you like blues-powered rock, you will certainly like "You Shook Me".
The Best ever! I can never get tired listening to them. I discover something new every time. They are 95% blues, I hate when people call them metal. Metal sucks that’s why they have to pull the old guys into it, and label them such. Robert Plant vocals/harmonica, Jimmy Page/guitar,John Paul Jones-bass/key boards, and last but not least John Bonham aka Bonzo drums.
I ❤️Led Zeppelin, tis is all. I have to check out your other reaction. As Jack White once said, " Well, I sort of don't trust anybody who doesn't like Led Zeppelin." I have to agree, lol.
You should watch a great movie called "Almost Famous" from the year 2000. The movie takes place during this musical era, and Zeppelin allowed them to use 4 of their songs for it.
As set below that was Lynyrd Skynyrd That was in that big plane crash. Only John Bonham the drummer passed away from led Zeppelin. Jason his son played drums when they did still perform
Since I’ve been loving you! This one is straight blues. Another great one is... Babe I’m gonna leave you! They have so many of the greatest songs in history.
Since I been loving You. Thats one of the best blues by Zepplin. Also try "the Girl I Love she got long black wavy hair" and "the Lemon Song". You'll love it.
Tea For One. I Can't Quit You Babe. The Rain Song. In The Light. You Shook M. Darlene. For Your Life. Down By The Seaside.etcetcetc. Nobody can touch these four artists when together.
I'd say the best song by Zeppelin to listen to next would be You Shook Me, it has to one of the most powerful most passionate song they've ever released, the musicianship is out of this world.
Damn man you can SANG too!
Thanks bro I appreciate that :)
YOU'RE SERIOUSLY TALENTED!!!

Led Zeppelin was British by the way. The blues had a HUGE influence in 60s and 70s rock and a lot of those guys crankin out legendary blues based rock at the time were coming from England. The Doors were American.
“Rockin Soul” you got that right. Stones and Zep wanted to tap into the what the American music revolution was all about. Great stuff.
The Greatest Band in the world and you have the best reaction channel ....Fact
you should do BLACK DOG by zeppelin - it's def your kinda thing man
I ❤️Led Zeppelin, tis is all. I have to check out your other reaction. As Jack White once said, " Well, I sort of don't trust anybody who doesn't like Led Zeppelin." I have to agree, lol.
All of the songs off of their first albums have great vocals.
Love the pure joy on your face
That band is BEYOND!!!!
THE MIGHTY LED ZEPPELIN FOR EVER💯🔥🔥🔥👍✌️.
If you’re this excited already you’re in for a world of adventures my friend. 😊
If you want to hear them cover an old southern gospel from the 1920s you should listen to IN MY TIME OF DYING.
They have so many of the greatest songs in history.
wOOt! love me some led zep mang! I would love to suggest Led Zeppelin - Black Dog! thanks bro! sick reaction again as always
Robert plant vocals, John bonaham drums, John Paul jones bass, jimmy page guitar
Maybe the four most talented musicians in one group.Getting from point A to point B and back again.
Since I been loving You. Thats one of the best blues by Zepplin. Also try "the Girl I Love she got long black wavy hair" and "the Lemon Song". You'll love it.
Great reaction. Had me grinning the whole time. Try Raining and Achilles Last Stand. You're welcome.
I love it when you sing.
