I was in a bus accident myself in June 2019. A car came crashing straight into us. There wasn't all this panicked turning or the bus getting flipped on its side or anything like that, just a simple crash. All of us survived and none of us were injured, though I think the people in the car who crashed into us were knocked unconscious. The police, firefighters, and paramedics all came.
@@timaaustin-sultanli3315 Well, a bus wins over a car in a head-on collision due to the difference in size and weight. That's why we weren't injured. I assure you this did happen, though. Still, though, after hearing the story about Cliff's death, it makes me grateful I didn't end up like him.

Cliff was the driving force of that band, but his death didn't give them a good reason to abuse Jason. He hardly waltzed into a "perfect situation," after all, he had to play with Lars, both musically and personally. That's not hazing in itself? They needed to add to that torment?
Aside from Jason, i like Kirk's character. He is very mellow and humble. Kirk is goofy also, but that's what makes these 2 great. They are humble in their own ways.
Man, its just straight up tragic we lost Cliff so young and after only 3 albums. He was just getting started, only 24! Imagine the kind of stuff they would have put out by now! But lucky for us, Jason Newsted was there to help out. You gotta hand it to him, they straight up bullied his ass for 16 so odd years, and he kept going because of his love for music. And you know what? He is I THINK, the best LIVE bassist Metallica has had. i miss his backup vocals! R,I,P Clifff!! Jason come back!
Jason was the perfect replacement for Cliff. Great bassist and performer in his own right combined with the mental fortitude and emotional intelligence to deal with their hazing and understand they were doing it to deal with their own grief. It was always going to end the way it did but Jason shows such great maturity regarding his time in Metallica even to this day
It seemed like a long time when this aired, but looking back Cliffs death only happened 10 or 12 years ago.... I bet it was still fresh in their minds.

When they started Cliff was the only one that could read sheet music, had to teach the rest of them. Rip. Cliff Jason handled immense pressure, He wasn't good as Cliff but I think he was better than the bass player now.
a fun fact is that the ace of spades he said he drew from the deck is a crazy coincidence because the the legend of the ace of spades actually signifies death and cliff drew the ace of spades and died the same night.
They wanted Jason to understand that he's in the band but hasn't replaced Cliff, but I think he already understood that from day one,Cliff was like a mentor to Jason he looked up to him.

Trujillo brought a pretty mean game with his talents on the bass....even he became the bands mediator...
In the future: Dave and Jason is out of the band, in Hardwired ...To Self-Destruct, Kirk loses his phone on an airplane with loads of riffs on it :D
I get what your saying but I’m reality there all insane metal heads at heart
rob is amazing
Cliff was the first death I ever experienced as a kid. I was 16 and skated everyday to Metallica, Suicidal and Anthrax
I couldn't imagine a more nightmarish feeling than seeing your friends leg sticking out from underneath a bus pinned on top of him. Poor Kirk, I get the feeling that he blames himself.
Its so cruel that the bus fell on him TWICE!!!! R.I.P Cliff!!! Almost cried myself watching this.
they say he was alive before it fell on him the second time.
@@braxtonwhitley8505 this pisses me off so much
@@braxtonwhitley8505 but unfortunately there is no proof of that or no fortunately there isn't any proof of this at all. Even I'm this video they said no one knew if he was alive when they first saw him trapped under the bus and that as far they know he was sleeping and never woke up.
Yeah kill em twice. They made sure he was dead didn't they. This was all planned. Black ice my ass!!
missing you today for some reason Clifford.
Ozzy and Metallica in that era must’ve been a hell of a show
scott ian's everywhere man
Sibulle Vicious yeah...ur damn right...i dont want to see him anymore
Sibulle Vicious He’s a Jew of course he’ll play a big part in heavy metal media.
Milan Jankovic ?
Milan Jankovic ok i’ve only just seen that but fuck you good and proper
8:11 that's rich coming from Kirk lol
He does have a feminine vibe to him.
@@bubbajax_9994 I've always thought he was a little bit nerdy... great player, yes, but a kinda guy who collects comic books, u know. 🤗
sigh..
If you look at the pics from the load album and load pthoto sessions, you can tell that even Lars with kiek had something going on, and I would not be suprised if Kirk tips to the otherside, pun intented.
Hes twice married with kids
Cliff died the year I was born so I never really got to see him play until the early p2p file sharing days when some of the old bootleg Metallica VHS tapes were being shared online. It's wild how creative and skilled of a bassist he was at that young age.
Dude, he died 25 days after I was born. When I found that out recently, I cried for an hour 😞
I almost cried on watching Kirk describing
Jason is always my favourite among all three bassist.
Suren Tamang 5* (Ron + Bob)
Noone asked.
I mean i now thats your opinion but i feel that this isnt the video to say that
I was in a bus accident myself in June 2019.
Sam Wittsell stop lying lol
@@timaaustin-sultanli3315 Well, a bus wins over a car in a head-on collision due to the difference in size and weight. That's why we weren't injured. I assure you this did happen, though. I've only been in 2 vehicular accidents in my entire life. A car accident as a baby and a bus accident in June. Still, though, after hearing the story about Cliff's death, it makes me grateful I didn't end up like him.
Watching anything about cliffs death just crushes my soul. Jason did good
It’s so unfair that they took their grieving anger out on jason. He was such an amazing bassist and they made ajfa so much worse by keeping his work of art bass riffs off it. I could never forgive them from jason’s position
Rip cliff, you will be remembered by all metal heads
Your really emotionally open younger tiger1?
I am forever stuck with the image of Les Claypool crying about not being in Metallica
Without that, we wouldn't have Primus.
R.I.P Cliff Burton 1962-1986
We miss you. Was greatest bassist of all time. Its not fair he had to leave like that.
One day there’s gonna be a movie about Metallica, and this is gonna be the most heartbreaking scene.
there is! it's called "Metallica: Some Kind Of Monster" I haven't watched it though so I don't know if it's good and its from 2004 so it might be outdated
@@captainpeluche3787 I said movie, not documentary.
23 years ago today. RIP Clff. I will always remember. God bless Cliff.
They're my favourite members.
It was always going to end the way it did but Jason shows such great maturity regarding his time in Metallica even to this day
And Jason still went out there on stage in front of millions to jam their heads off, true Lad that man Jason newsted
This is one of the most heart breaking things that ive ever seen. RIP Cliff
It seemed like a long time when this aired, but looking back Cliffs death only happened 10 or 12 years ago.... I bet it was still fresh in their minds.
I can't believe this clip was upped 15 years ago. I remember bought the VHS during the Load - Reload era. I do have Cliff Em All VHS in addition to this video. I'm now approaching 50s...how time flies.
kirks voice makes me cry when hes talking about Cliffs death
R.I.P Cliff Burton GONE BUT NEVER FORGOTTEN
Burton was a legend. Rest in peace, brother.
i will admit, i almost started crying when kirk started talking about how he turned around and saw cliff lying under the bus
'I heard everyone screaming, except for cliff' man that gets me everytime
RIP Cliff ❤️ Legends never die, you left your mark in history, in one of the greatest bands ever to have existed. You left your mark on all the fans, so loved, so missed.
Respect to Jason. He had it tough, whatta trooper \m/
Maybe Cliff know what will happens in the bus, and sacrifice himself in order to safe Kirk's ass.
Man, I've lost my mind.
Howl E. Schitt wrong decision, should have let kirk die and make dave come back in the band
ng jason I'll prefer have Megadeth than never.
Also, I doubt he'll come back to Metallica after what they've done to him.
Stop eating chromosomes at breakfast idiot, wtf are u saying. Insane.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY CLIFF BURTON. February 10 1962 - September 27 1986
RIP Cliff. Newstead had big shoes to fill. And he did a damn good job. Became the energy of the band. Still think it's a mistake they let him walk away.
Me and my friend have always had the dream of seeing Metallica live. Imagine if Cliff had survived? I watched the video and heard the emotion in Kirk's voice, I could tell that they as they were talking bout it, they were in their heads, reliving the entire thing. I can't imagine how sad the whole thing was, since Cliff was more like a brother to them than anythin else.
Someone: aks Jason a question
Jason: *Ahhhhhhhhhh*
When they started Cliff was the only one that could read sheet music, had to teach the rest of them. Rip. Cliff Jason handled immense pressure, He wasn't good as Cliff but I think he was better than the bass player now.
When I heard Kirk say “trapped under the bus” I instantly had the music to trapped under ice in my head. Wrong on so many levels.
a fun fact is that the ace of spades he said he drew from the deck is a crazy coincidence because the the legend of the ace of spades actually signifies death and cliff drew the ace of spades and died the same night.
They wanted Jason to understand that he's in the band but hasn't replaced Cliff, but I think he already understood that from day one,Cliff was like a mentor to Jason he looked up to him.
To think that *Ozzy* had trouble keeping up with them really says something about how fucking wild they were.
Fly high and play forever Cliff. You are the reason I started the bass guitar over 20 years ago. You are my idol, my bass god. You will live forever and always be the best.
Jason is 100% class. He is exactly what Metallica and needed to heal and move on from the loss of Cliff. The powers that be put Jason In the right place at the right time. Kirk, Lars and James were angry and hurting from their loss and Jason was strong enough to take all the anger and hurt that was pushed his way while the band was trying to heal and move on. I love Metallica and wish Jason could have stayed with the band. Nothing against Robert🤘
They look like rednecks except for Jason. He made them more sophisticated, and they didn’t like it.
Jason was heaven sent from cliff up in heaven, AND JUSTICE FOR All , in my opinion was their best album of all time !!!!!!!
FAR from it. RTL
Would be, if you could hear Jason's bass lines....
@@mr.smithgnrsmith7808 First three albums are the best
i can imagine young James grabbing someone and say "dont fuckin take that from him"
Arguably the most tragic story in heavy metal history next to Dimebag's murder. Rip Cliff and Dimebag.
Awesome. RIP, Cliff. Long Live Metallica.
On a slightly less depressing note.... James was only woken up by the hot coffee landing on him?
That's a real man.
Dang, things will never be the same without cliff but im glad they’re still around & working on an album in 2023 🙏
It’s amazing how the rest of them escaped without a scratch, no permanent injuries or anything
Did the bus thing really even happen? Maybe they offed him and made up the story.
we love cliff we kirk done no one will die... cliff is still alive and its in our heart of Metallica and for jason yeah im sorry for him too. those two bassist always in our heart
This is so incredibly sad, I was born 2006 and I love metallica and although I'm young it makes me cry hearing about this, I love these guys and I feel so sorry for what happened to them.
Legends never die always in my heart!
#Cliffemall
Rest In Peace Cliff Burton
