  • A politician pulling numerous strings has framed an ex-worker to make her appear insane and suicidal after she found out his corrupt dealings. With everything in hand, McCall confronts the politician and reveals he has enough evidence on him to sink a ship. He warns the politician to resign or he will face dire consequences.

    Edward Woodward could scare you from the other side of a crowded room, those eyes are legendary. I appreciate Denzel’s version, but Edward Woodward is the BOSS

    With no disrespect intent toward Mr Washington or Queen Latifah, Edward Woodward embodied Robert McCall with just one look. He was a magnificent actor.

      The Denzel movies would have been great movies if they weren't The Equalizer. The shoes were too beg to fill.

    When I think of The Equalizer THIS is who comes to mind. With all love to Denzel who did a great job with his own version but even he couldn't top Woodward in this role. This series is better than anything on the air or streaming today.

      I grew up watching the original equalizer & Edward Woodward will always be the standard for me but Denzel put his own stamp and Queen Latifah has put her stamp on it as well . I like them all.

      ​​@@aaronflowers8881 Hey, if you like them that's fine but people have the right not to. Fact is whether the remakes are good or not they almost never live up to the original. Edward Woodward's Equalizer is definitely in that class because nobody can top what he did in that role.

      ​@@eelie5701 I liked the movies with Denzel and tried a few episodes of the Latifah one. I just couldn't take it anymore lol. Way too cookie cutter procedural like. Didn't feel like The Equalizer to me at all more like a NCIS or CSI clone.

    Back then when the equalizer came on I just loved the program with Edward Woodward. As I see 👀it he's a wonderful actor,a very talented man 👨, a handsome man 👨as well. Pretty please bring more episodes of the equalizer back onto the screen. All of your fans would most certainly love it if you did . Edward Woodward told it like it is each,every time. I sure really truly honestly do admire him for the actor he is.

    Epic, iconic, long-lasting and brilliantly made with a lead actor to die for in Edward Woodward, this was and still is such a superb show and is part of tv history, such high quality writing and alot of energy and love was put into it, " ill being seeing You " ;)

Also please post clips from the season 3 episode ‘Mission McCall with guest star Robert Mitchum as Dyson. His scenes with Control in Robert’s apartment at the beginning of the episode are awesome!

      I loved The Equalizer from back then up until now. Edward Woodward was great and so cool. Denzel added so much to it. I just love him as Robert McCall. Although I think this role is best suited for a man, I admit Queen Latifah is awfully good as Robin McCall. I just love " The Equalizer!"

    Thru the Equalizer Edward joined the pantheon of actors who became irreplaceable in a spy franchise. Connery (007), Graves (Phelps in Mission impossible) Coburn (Flint) Caine ( Harry Palmer) Firth (Kingsman) Vaughn/McCallum (UNCLE) Cosby/Culp (I Spy) etc. come to mind.

      The CBS reboot of the equalizer is nothing but a woke attempt to capitalize on a once great series.
      What made the show so good was of course Edward Woodward playing the 60+ year old man sticking to all the younger hoodlums

    The contrast between American and British English is epitomised in "absolyootly" from McCall @ 1:01. Even in Callan, he (Woodward) enunciated crisply accurate dialogue, never a problem understanding him.

    Back in the day with great actors as guest stars in the Classic Edward Woodward series ,The Queen Latifah series is nothing compared to this series that ran from 1985 to 1989.

    The original concept works. The Englishman (albeit) a very worldly ex intelligence officer, was still incongruous in NY, with the Jag etc. Denzel is great, but the oddity is missing which makes the new film series pretty orthodox.

      @@wilburwood8261 Irrelevant to the point being made. Denzel is a superb actor, no question, but his interpretation of the character pales compared to Woodward's original and best. Just because someone is liked more doesn't make them better, just makes them more popular.
