I was pissed at how they were treated in PSP version, both strength and spell craft were locked at 2, making them good for nothing but tanking hits. Reborn really made them reborn, they are your UNDEAD destroyer and bulky charmer. Excellent in POTD
My two VIP angel moments were the Ceillo fight where it's all undead dragons... who immediately returned to life thanks to a single angel's AoE. And then the angel brawl in the higher levels of San Bronsa where they're all holding grenades. I used AoE charm and it became the Angel Royal Rumble up there. I usually end up going with a 1H counterattack bow so they're building a ton of mp from countering melee and ranged, then I transition into aegis so they're impossible to kill. They're one of my favorite units in every Ogre Saga title, and it was good to see how strong they were here. For ogre blade farming, starting with an angel knight's abilities lets them remove zombie for that step. And for the ogre blade in general, I like having a "terror angel" who flies around spreading fear. Just a really fun class to use with a cool sprite and lore.
I’ve heard rumors of a Fire element Divine Knight, like the Ice Lich… Has anyone seen one or other off-element units? I recruited the Dark Gryphon from the Andoras fight and I’ve been searching for others since!
Have you tried Worlding back to CODA 1? I believe the Ice Lich only spawns during one of the postgame chapters. People on GameFAQs found that same Lich will spawn as Dark in Chapter 4. @shrouder81
They're a class that by design is hurt really badly by the skill slot systems of LUCT and Reborn. Kinda feels like they make more sense in FFT or something. But it's nice to hear that they have the power to back it up in Reborn. They aren't the only ones who can dragonslayer bow, but I suppose FLYING dragonslayer bow is quite an advantage. Can they wear bow and shield? Flying brick dragonslayer bow sounds like the dragons should just give up. Also, you'd think that divine knight is enough to show that even with meditate IV, 75 mp is a LOT to spend on a shadow that can be broken in one turn with certain weapons.
I kinda like that they need to pick a gimmick out of the box here. Technically you could put them all on in PSP ..only for them not to do anything because the class wanted like 6-8 passives to operate effectively back then. Bow and shield is good, but the sword finishers work really well with them. I've come to appreciate the Shadow skills a lot more with a support feeding them MP. Cyclops and Golem with rings really rock that, though.
Know where I might find a recruitable ghost or skeleton with a race not bakram, galgastan or walister? Doing more ogre blade stuff and I've been playing for long enough that my chaos frame is spaghetti.
Hey sir what do you suggest between Tactical ogre One vision and Tactical ogre reborn? Iam a bit lost on which game to choose for fun gameplay, teambuilding and a good challenge. Thanks :)
I'd you're new to the series, go for Reborn to get more out of the world and decisions. Then once you've figured out how deep what seems to be a simple system can go, One Vision will give you the granular experience. They're both fantastic, but you'll appreciate OV more after the "intended" experience with RB.
I still don't like the requirement for this class. There was something magical when you obtained this class in the original that the remakes don't envoke. Those who know will know.
Fair, but oddly enough it could also be annoying when you wanted to Revivify your unique character only...for Olivia to be transformed into a generic forever.😆

Plus they're oddly second best at area denial, which is fun. That area Charm with Powder has easily won fights, though.
@@CoffeePotato If only they could get Phalanx!! Btw with Ogre blade they technically can right?
@@doha057 Kind of, in reverse. You can put their skills onto a Knight with a Flight Ring.
@@CoffeePotato And then on a berserker for pincer 4 😁
I do love class that has its own recruitment skill to be recruited and only appear at a certain optional CODA story map only. Seraph Pact ftw
It's an oddly specific, but fun touch for sure.
I think the skill is intentionally dangled in front of you early on, builds up the anticipation...
It was nice not to have to use princess, lord, and clerics to recruit them all the time when making cursed weapons, though =]

The wrath of gaw'd build, eh?
LOL - 'Killdozer' is the best name for a faerie
It seemed appropriate for such a little monster.

I wasn't able to get an Ice element Lich is spawn in the Pirate's Graveyard. I am assuming it got removed in a later patch of the game

@@shrouder81 It's still there, he's in Coda 1, not story mode.
I haven't seen that one, but will add it to the "Rumors to prove if they ever show up" pile
@CoffeePotato thanks for the info!

Sadly you can't use sanctuary shadow with the draconic spell that gives sanctuary so you would have a free skill slot. It would be awesome if it did.
It would have been nice.

@@CoffeePotato thanks you my friend have a sweet day
I know what black lizard powder does, what would jewel of the avatar do?
Dodge +20%. Always 20% or higher dodge odds, which is really handy in their tendency to wind up surrounded.
is there a way to find out which skills are manually only and which ones the AI uses?
Testing.
I’d recommend you just start recording as soon as you sit down and cut it down afterward.
Maybe.
I'm working on a longer video going over Reborn 's design in general.
