Nothing is better than making most of the story characters into Liches. Bayin and Warren make great Liches. Mess with Liches you get stiches. Strider my vartan lich murders even high hp griffins with ease. Thank you Coffee for doing the lich video. You greatly explained why everyone should use Liches. Having this video and the Metal Gear Solid collection come out today is awesome. You are now seeing Revolver Ocelot as a lich.
Mailitza staff +cursed dagger. Life force, drain heart, Starfall and hellhound. No finishing moves. Add a bunch of charms and it's unbeatable. Unlimited Mp and with high intelligence drain heart heals most of your health.
True and straightforward. I try to not mention charms much because it seems like an obvious cop out, but if it works, it works. Plus, it's hardly the biggest point, but something about Hellhound is just more satisfying than most of the other summons. They're like..homing lasers.
When it comes to shaman vs. lich, you hear a lot about how big an impact reflection and life drain/life force have... but the fact that liches can stick a cursed dagger in the offhand means that a lich is going to have 14% parry instead of a shaman's max of 7% even against physical attackers. They're in a good middle ground between matriarchs and shaman with some nice unique utility. I never did grab the ice lich. I need to play around with it.
Lich has so many good skills that it's more about what it can ogre blade to others rather than receiving more skills. Meditate melee units and reflection+negate 3 phys. If you're running a bulky lich, terrifying impact can act as a funky version of stopdagger. In theory, salvation allows the fastest turn1 firestorm, burning that grass for some sweet, sweet card. You could also just songstress and forget about rng. Selfless kiss isn't reflected right? That could be your goto healing while you slap paradigms everywhere.
Okay so One Vision is really different!! Items are like, teired, you have to grab a skill to use some of the different items.. and just, everyone. Not just the pick four stacks going on here. characters getting those four skills right off the bat makes the early game grind a little faster, but I'm not sure if the trade-off, of extremely incredibly well balanced End-game for Reborn Endgame is worth it.. I'm still going to devour the videos, because the knowledge you deliver us applies unilaterally in some cases.. Plus they're fun to watch ; with a bowl of cereal. Your excitement for the series is rubbing off, and I am so glad I found these videos and found the channel and got pointed toward OV because I still play the SNES version, and GBA (sometimes I just wanna fast-forward, or power-level in training after all I have played it before I deserve level 20 characters by chapter 1's end and the Ppsspp+ does not likely fast-forward-y) and at the end of the day I plan on playing through Reborn it's just a matter of, do I want to set the laptop up the only one I have that can't come off the charger because the battery thingy, so if a hair lands on the thing I swear it resets like ONLY when I'm playing games where saving isnt just wherever you want it to be. thats why it's nice to play the GBA or SNES, psx version with some good rom hacks because then you get the ULTIMATE chariot wheel, Save State's 1 through 10. I'd LOVE to see RNG rear it's ugly head, 10 out of 10 conceptual times... sorry for the rant, but thank you for these videos. So much. I cannot wait to get lich action going in OV, just getting the two necromancers in chapter 1 has felt like such an endurance test, a skills test, it's like I'm at the freaking DMV and I love it I genuinely cannot explain it. I'm at school, but happy??
Before I start meddling with liches, I'm gonna turn my Cressida into a TK. I don't have any classes that can wield 2h swords levelled up yet actually, so I'm now enjoying the lawful route's differences in story before getting into level-grinding certain classes while also recruiting beasts for the food. 230h playthrough so far and I've yet to finish law, get started on neutral, fully explore San Bronsa and do Azelstan's quest at the graveyard. I'm so happy to have this much content to squeeze out of this game xD Great video! I'd love to see you showcase a lich's true potential by going into heavenly general's fights and just 1-shot them from afar, like the reflection trick you mentioned 😂❤
Oh, that reflection trick happens on accident sometimes. It's hard to pull off consistently, but if you have a death dot with reflection set up....it'll get nuked eventually. They also have their skills, which technically count as physical, though, so it's kind of a 50/50. Surrounding them with low Res high Def units can certainly help, though. Also, fun note, but if Reflection is used on a Rupture/Phalanx Lord, you get all of the benefits with none of the downsides. You can be hit with a 3 Mag card Crit, and it'll either bounce off of Phalanx, or will take that Rupture bonus and blow away the caster. It's hilarious.
My main lich runs with Life force, hellhound and charm that seems to always be at 100%. It makes her the second most powerful caster after shaman Sherri (largely due to my lich is dark and sherri has elemental touch but runs into MP issues when spamming apocrypha or summons). I can probably min-max if I want to, but I"m doing my first clear of the floating ruins and things are going perfectly well atm, but I'm very much looking forward to getting hellhound 2 and diablo's spite 2.
@@Meelodin It does for some, but it's weird about it. So it'll give some defensive stats, but not Int/Mnd for purposes of offense, but will for debuffs. Basically two handers for spell tools count as a shield by the game's logic. It's an oddly specific bug they tried to fix, but the engine wasn't having it.
it's funny how Denam has no issues working with liches and necromancers, possibly recruiting them himself, yet he chastises necromancy as vile in the story. it's one of those cases where you'd like the game to acknowledge WHY Denam is allowed to recruit orcs, liches, undead and necromancers and even possibly turn his allies into zombies, like that seems pretty evil to me Denam.
Since I can only hold one ring at a time I’m debating which unique’s to convert before leaving potd. As I’ve only played law route currently in chapter 4 before heim. Anyone you’d recommend? I was thinking holdrum but his int and wis stats are looow and kinda wanna save charms, but maybe he’d be good anyway? Let me know if you have any suggestions! Thanks for your channel! Very helpful!
Glad to help! Personally I'd say to wait until you get to floor 100. You'll be able to shortcut back for more rings, but using an Ogre Blade to convert a generic back to Level 2-3, then converting to Lich and raising up again gives you like 200-300+ extra to casting stats. Other than that, just Lich your favorite. There's always an upside. I made Hamilton a Lich...and while his offense was a little worse, he had more than 3x the HP of any other Lich out there.
@@CoffeePotato thanks dude! Great thoughts! Didn’t think Id get this far down the potd hole at Union level 36 but I might as well keep digging until I’m stuck. Cheers! 🍻
I'm in chapter 4 and just recruited two Liches from Pirates Graveyard, one has better Int and the other Mind. Would lvl 36 liches better serve as debuffers, magic artillery or a mix of both? I have almost no magic on my team and my ranged support is mostly physical.
Generally they're an improved version, casters don't get many hats. It was more of a question in other versions for different reasons, like the Meditation. Bonus in PSP. (You just get useful Meditation immediately in Reborn)
I noticed that you have an Ice Element Lich. I've heard you can get it from the Pirate's Graveyard On Holy Ground Stage but only a normal Lich seems to spawn. I am assuming this Ice Lich was a developer error that got patched out.
Today I learned: the order of Auto skills dictates what procs first if they all roll. Thanks potato.
Glad to help! I should probably make a video on that to clarify, huh?
@CoffeePotato please do!

I'm pretty sure it's classed as physical, just like Harvest Dance, SM pairs nicely with a Lich squad.
Stick 'em with Curse 3
Use it to hit grouped up enemies
Use Summons
Take a shot every time you see a crit
Pass out from intoxication
???
Worth it
True, Curse is dang good fun with their fantastic hit odds.
