  • On this video I begin to assemble the 993 Porsche Carrera engine. This is the continuing video of the 993 engine oil leak repair (part 4). This time I've edited the video a bit different where I work more, talk less, with continuing music in the background. If you like this style of video please let me know through the comments section or give it a thumbs up to let me know, as I am still learning to edit videos, where they are entertaining and also educational, for anyone to DIY your own Porsche engine at home, hence the reason i use very basic tools (eg, Stone Block) to do this work. I also use petroleum jelly to assemble this engine, reason being that I have always used it on previous engine builds and I've never had a problem so i continue to use it because i trust it. Anyway hope you like this video and remember to Like and Subscribe.
I don't own the Rights to the music used. That being said I hope I don't get blocked again lol

I would get a new machine shop. This cam case should have come back shiny

Depending on the clearances, maybe the case was close to it's maximum clearance. I didn't measure them honestly. Either way since the pandemic, their machine shop closed down so we already go to a new machine shop

@@zvautobuild8832 Oh, I see. What is that tool you have on your drill to help clean the bolt area? It kinda looks like a metal brush. I would like one of those.

@@ocmacman17 if you search for wire brush for drills, on Amazon or any cheap online seller. you can find them for very cheap.

@@zvautobuild8832 Ok, I will. So what bearings did you use? I am at the point on my build (993 C2 6sp) where I am looking for bearings. Rods and mains. What do you use?

@@ocmacman17 all original parts, using after market ones is a risk, they might use different material which can be too hard or too soft, and I'd rather risk damaging bearings (cheaper) then damaging the crank or other components which are more expensive.
