- The Clean Up video of the Porsche Carrera 993 Engine. This is part 3 of the oil leak repair that I'm doing on this Porsche 993 Carrera. I hope its informative enough to assist anyone who has intentions on doing this kind of work on their own car. I am very new at doing videos so if there's anything that will help me at making better videos, please don't hesitate to tell me through the comments section. Much appreciated. also like and subscribe if you're enjoying my videos.
Nice work. You really know your away around a 993 engine.
Great video, thanks for posting

ZV...keep making 993 engine videos!!!
This is amazing content, thank you for posting!
Thank you, I work on these cars everyday so I can definitely put out more videos, so if there's something else you'd like to see don't be shy to ask. I can make a video about it no problem. Please consider Subscribing if you haven't already
Thank you for posting, I really enjoy your videos on the 993
Nikolce Petrovski thank you for your feedback, more engine rebuild videos are under preparation plus I’ve got other videos on the 993 like how to rebuild the steering rack as well so stay tuned
@@zvautobuild8832 do you think your video would be a good guide to help beginners rebuild their engines Or it should not be attempted?
Nikolce Petrovski, I hope it is a good guide, because my whole intention of making these videos is to help either a beginner, experienced mechanic or anyone who wants to attempt on rebuilding these engines. Also If you choose to rebuild this engine, I’m available to answer any questions you have on my comments section or you can email me at any time and I will answer with my best knowledge or through supplied information which is available to me through my workshop.
Now you ask should you attempt this build, and my answer is YES. Try it, it’s easier than it looks
ZV Auto Build thanks, your video is definitely inspiring and you offering help along the way is much appreciated. Next week i will be replacing struts and suspension. The engine drop is something I am considering at this stage.
Dude, good video but cut the damn music! I want to hear what you have to say and your diagnosis.
Yes I've learnt my lesson. With my newer videos, I don't use as much music
Thanks for this video, i have the same car. In usa i hear its $30k usd to rebuild one. I may have to replace some seals eventually as it sat for 4 years. So i wanted to see how its done.
Nice 👍 if you have any questions don't be shy to ask. I will answer everything to the best of my knowledge
So why with only 60k miles did this engine require this level of a rebuild? Agreed they leak, but aside from rear main seal, upper and lower valve cover gaskets, oil return tubes and timing chain gaskets, where else would there be a possible leak that requires this level of effort?
Well actually this is more of a 'while we're here' type of thing. No bearings or piston rings were replaced, but still since the engine has to come apart this far, to replace the O'rings between the block and the bore, might as well right
How many miles /Km on that 993 engine prior to rebuild? Where were the major leaks coming from?
This car has 60 thousand miles on it. But these air Cooled Engines are notorious for oil leaks. That's why I made these videos, so who ever is keen to repair the leaks themselves and save a lot of money. It's been 2 years already and this engine hasn't leaked so I'm confident if you follow these videos, you will prevent oil leaks from your own build
How many hours total labor?
Took about weeks from start to finish but that's because I did it all by hand, the only thing I sent to machine shop was the camshaft housings. That's including rebuilding the steering rack too.
@@zvautobuild8832 How many weeks?
Oh sorry. I meant to say 2 weeks 😬
