Benny is the most tolerant and laid back guy in the audience. He knows that jokes are not meant to be taken seriously. I mean, what's the point of comedy if you have to get all serious about it?
Agree it wouldn't be comedy it would just be news
@@jonneateh5815 precisely
Problem with dark humor is, they need to be smart to be funny. Some jokes are just dumb and make you want to slap your forehead so hard. Benny there, is the kind of person who would laugh at all the dumb jokes. Not the most intelligent type of people.
To be fair, he definitely laughed much less in this video than the previous 2. The jokes in this video weren't as brutal, and also not as funny.
so true. just because a joke mentions a concept that you don't like, it doesn't mean that laughing at it means you agree with that concept
The lesson I have learned from this video: Benny is the chillest guy on the planet.
Agreed!
Would you still hold that opinion if the jokes were ridiculing women or minorities and he still laughed?
@@traykunable yep!! i would
@@traykunable ridiculing minorities or women is not really a bad thing. Everyone has their flaws and thats where comedy comes from. I would laugh at jokes about men, women, majorities and minorities alike
@@piyushpreetomgogoi6218 I'm not a progressivist. I was just wondering if the poster didn't mind the ridicule of Christianity but were sensitive to other "sacred cows". Fair enough.
Am I the only one who felt unusually sad when Benny said he'd been a victim of sexual assault as a kid? He seems like such a happy, funny guy...
I felt admiration. Clearly he hasn't let that experience bring him down. Would that we all had his strength.
@@ThinWhiteAxe very true. I liked the point where he said shouldn't have to experience something to joke about it or discuss it or you'd need to see yourself as a victim and address it to the world especially if the only way you feel you can talk about it is though comedy. Im partially sighted and feel comedy is a great way to express yourself and frustration I joke about it I take away the bullyies ammunition and can jokely raise up thing that would otherwise make people uncomfortable
At the same time, Catholic guy's face made Benny's point for him. We don't know who's had that experience, stop telling people who can and can't joke and laugh
It shows a lot about that pastor too. Because when I did a lot of Christian volunteer work, I got my hands dirty and spent time with dirty people. Because those are the people who need the help. And when those people get help and gain strength, they keep some of that dirty with them, just as I have kept some of that dirty with me.
Dirty isn't something you put a lid on.
It's something you reach your hand out to.
Some times that hand will reach back in friendship, other times it will reach back in desperation, and sometimes it will not reach back at all. But you still gotta reach out.
This pastor is disgusted by everything and his heart is paralyzed by fear of how he looks to others. He doesn't come across as understanding, he come a across as patronizing, superior and aloof.
Guys like Benny are the real balm of society.
If you have something dark to talk about, would you tell mr pastor mcjudgeypants or would you tell a guy like Benny?
I wouldn't tell him about the time I found a piece of a porno mag on the sidewalk when I was a kid and I looked at it for around 10 seconds, feeling very weirded out.
Tell Benny that and he will laugh. But it won't hurt your feelings when he does.
Tell the pastor that and he won't laugh, no, not one bit. And you will feel like you've just offended the great spirits above and need to do some penance after a scalding hot shower.
Trash pastor. This type does more harm than good.
Benny isn't exactly wrong - if something offends you, don't go seeking it out just to get offended
GrumpyFinch he isn’t wrong at all, it’s the perfect way to stop being offended.
@Ryan Rafter That's miss Finch to you
no he is exactly right.
Does the same applies to nazi jokes as well?
jlwk55 yes it does, I’ve heard some hilarious nazi jokes that in no way condone genocide yet play on it

michael browne Funny Jokes (insults) usually require an element of well known truth; Pedophile clergy or promiscuous pastors or over aggressive evangelists. I don’t think rape is a common truth.
What you mean to say is:

Benny: hoooooo hooooo hoooo
Do not like this comment anymore. The number is perfect!

Bill Burr: "Don't you think the catholic church went a little too far?"

Did he actually say this? haha
@BTIsaac There is no joke about Christianity in my comment.
@BTIsaac I disagree. Therefore, I extended my comment.
Lmao
"You can laugh about everything but not with everyone".
Benny's way of looking at comedy is SO true! If you don't like it, no one is forcing you to listen.
Like music. No one is forcing anyone to like the bands they can listen to. You wouldn't stop a band with thousands of fans from playing live, why would you do the same with a comedian?
WHat about Joking about the HOlocaust? Baisically what your arguing is: there is no line. Nothing should be untouchable, Its up to the listener to filter what he hears.
Yup, a comedian should not hold back, you have the choice to walk out so essentially you have the choice whether to be offended or not. You have a line, a comedian shouldn't
@@BennyBoganOfficial mate I write this to you in my flanny as a fellow bogan, you're the smartest bloke in this crowd by a mile.
Hope you've had a ripper weekend
@@DubmanicGetFlazed Comedy is so many things, it's a coping mechanism for some, it's entertainment, it's belittlement if done correctly. There should be no line, everybody gets far too offended by everything for this sad world to lighten up a little. As Benny said, if you don't find a joke funny, move on, that's on you.
@@DubmanicGetFlazed what about the Holocaust? From what I can gather that's exactly what he's arguing i.e. there is no line because comedy / humour is entirely subjective. You draw the line for yourself, not for others. I really don't understand what's so difficult about this? If you find a comedian offensive that is entirely your right and you can: boycott their gigs; refrain from watching them on TV / social media; express your disapproval. But if you try to censor the comedian and tell me what's ok for me to laugh at, then that makes you the bad guy.
“To find out who rules over you, simply find out who you are not allowed to criticise.”

Christians can be criticized ad nauseum with impunity, so we can rule them out.

Is it from the French writer or the UA-cam channel? 😂😂
Peter Vojkovic Kids with terminal cancer rule the whole world
Comedian: “Hi, how is everyone doing tonight?”
Benny: “HAWHAWHAWHAW, that is so wrong!”
Adam has a great point... The whole “oooh, that’s harsh and true” reaction, is a very clear indicator that the joke does belittle the pedophile rather than the victim. In recognising that it’s a disgusting act, you’re not targeting the stereotype. You’re targeting the evil part of the group(in this case pastors etc) That being said I’m sure these jokes weren’t written with the intent to be the funniest joke of this variety, but are purposely not written/worded in the best way to get the reactions of people who are on a side of the fence with the topic
Yeah the jokes were written solely for shock value
Yeah I think that the underlying message should be that if you don’t like something, it’d easy as hell to avoid if you actually want to. But there is a large portion of people who actively seek things to be outraged about. Which is just absurd in this day and age, because there is definitely enough content out there that you need never see something you don’t like, as well as the ability to curate your consumption in that way.
But I don’t disagree, I think the jokes are purposely a bit tactless and could be reworded/written in a way that doesn’t generalise. The show in essence is trying to figure out what it is about each topic that people find offensive
The biggest threat to free thinking isn't the line that defines offence, but the line created to prevent it. As a Christian and theology student, I thought some of these jokes were offensive, but I'll be the first person to march for your right to not only say them but to laugh at them.
Thank you Sir...may I suggest watching America First with Nicholas J Fuentes. You can find him on YT...you may like it.
@Return of the Dragon and yours was birthed by a jackel. Say hi while your down there.
Same here christian/spiritual and yes offended but not at all out to seek revenge
@Return of the Dragon oh yea...wow...really got me with that one.....you must be some next lvl memelord....tell me though, whats your favorite dragon? I rekon its probably an Imagine Dragon...
@Return of the Dragon The Christian God became fully human. That's correct. It is a Central point of Christian theology. You are not telling us anything that we don't already know.
I would love to see the comedy that the pastor finds funny, seems like the most humourless person ever.

I want Indian Jokes in this series. Yes, I'm Indian.
Let me guess. Tech jokes, rape jokes, bobs and vagene jokes, shitting in the streets jokes, caste system jokes.
I'm not saying all of them are true, but they are the prevalent negative stereotypes.

The phrase "fun at parties" comes to mind...
Here in the UK we have lots of priests like that. They barely know what's in The Bible. Some even don't believe in God & consider that priesthood is "just a job."
Thats disturbing
I think he would know. He probably meant that he didn't know what the comedians response would be...
Was thinking the same thing 😅
Adam was so fukin right about that "stereotype" conversation. Even I feel the same. I feel afraid to crack a dark joke because people just stereotype you that you are such dark person.
The young kid is the most open minded.. what a legend
Benny is such a king. Huge respect to him for disclosing that information publicly. I'd imagine he's done alot of work to get to that point. Ironically, he is the only one to admit that and say he isn't offended
Took a few years to except my past but it won't stop me enjoying myself and laughing ay haha

neel and team wants their head on right place i guess so
Adam was on the money regarding stereotypes - it's worth noting that he's the youngest member of the group, and also therefore the most conscious of *not* letting stereotypes colour his opinions about people. Like, just knowing that a stereotype exists about something makes one more likely to keep an open mind regarding it. While the older members (whose generation is responsible for propagating a lot of today's stereotypes) were the ones who disagreed with that line of thinking, which is ironic.
I find this series really interesting, this is some of the best content I've seen in a long time. Thank you for making this Neel.
Waiting for Indian jokes!!!!😳😳🇮🇳🇮🇳

@@Nik-km2qy Glad that we make you laugh 😂
As someone who lives in the subcontinent, they would NOT like that. They are super defensive. They will argue with everything going against their beliefs. I live in Pakistan, the other day I said to my friend "we wouldn't be anywhere without the British tho". He's basically like "oh God, MeFlea, you're so stupid what the fuck is wrong with you how could you say that?" then I go on this long debate about it and in the end he can't come up with anything so he just tells me to shut up. Over to English class we go where he tells about this to his friend and he basically just says" oh God, MeFlea, some people are more sensitive, you should dial it back." which made me give the biggest" fuck off" I've ever given to somebody
@@meflea3675 isn't that the whole point of this show? "Crossing the line" and the line for our people is literally shorter than you imagine. So Indian jokes will be funny.
I'm not sure how to fix this, but it'd be really great if the jokes could be funnier. Regardless of how offensive the jokes are, they haven't been very funny so far. Like I said, I have no advice on how to fix this, but with better writing this series has a lot of potential.
That's the obvious flaw in the format. Focusing on the offense already narrows down the good jokes you can put in since it doesn't work if they're all not offensive/all very offensive. I still like the series though since for me it's more for curiosity than comedy.
Speak for yourself. All of these have been hilarious to me
I agree that they aren't really funny, but judging by the people's clothing, these videos were made in advance and Neel might have quite a lot of material already prepared... they probably won't change in quality any time soon.
@@niewesoa5299 Oh I imagined that, but if this series does continue past whatever has already been filmed it'd be nice to see improvements in that regard.

This is a great concept! For all videos thus far, I tend to agree most with Benny Beard. He is the most consistent and understands that comedy is subjective. My line will be different to the next person, which’ll be different to the next, and so on. Great work, Neel 👍
Welcome to 2019... the age where people are offended on behalf of others.
It's ok to be offended on behalf of others. There are things that are genuinely offensive. ( Real racism for example). It's called empathy and it is a good and important thing. Forcing people to cater to you on the other hand is not acceptable, we can't police other people's words. For example if someone wants to be racist that is their right. Hopefully a lot of people will be offended on behalf of others and give them no business.
@@sarahs3988 but in some too many cases, the "others" who supposedly should get offended aren't offended at all. so, no. I don't think everyone should offended on other's behalf. if you offended, don't watch it. if your friends offended, don't talk about it around them. empathy could be falsely expressed due to false assumptions
It's okay to be offended on behalf of others.
Funny Little Frog, being offended on someone else’s behalf is the bread and butter of moral busybodies of all sorts.

Damn Benny, I'm impressed, super chill guy and extremely rational.
How people get offended when the jokes on them😂😂
AddaWafi Productions not everyone was christian and they still didn't find em funny
I found the ones that didn't envolve pedophilia funny
The peso ones are a bit of a same old
The point was it wasn’t actually on them.... it was on an imaginarily homogeneous group of like minded child sex offenders, which were misidentified as “christians”. That is not to say that some christians, like any other people, do unthinkable things for which severe punishment is appropriate, but stereotypes do harm the innocent and don’t supply help or justice for victims of real monsters.
As a practicing Catholic I completely agree with Ben. personally I found the jokes a bit in your face and not very nice, or that funny.
but just because I feel uncomfortable with it, doesn't mean the joke is across the line.
Cos once we put lines, we're stopping speech, and if I can stop someone else's speech then they can stops my!!
And I would much rather people saying rude and offensive jokes then having speech controlled and dictated by people!
Benny is just not “woke“ enough (unlike those “educated” beta males) to find the jokes offensive. He takes them for what they are; jokes.

So I found this video after I commented on the Muslim joke video..So I see the same two gay males in this video..While the dark haired gay male with glasses said that a few jokes were bad he said it while he was grinning ear to ear trying to not let out a laugh!!! Now he was not grinning like this during the Muslim jokes at all..he almost had a look of anger on his face!! Thank you!! This video answers my question that gay people will not make fun of Muslims or joke but they will all day laugh at Christian jokes!!
There is a little irony in watching many of these CTL videos and seeing Benny laugh at jokes about everyone and everything and then watch this video and get new context about him that pertains to some of the jokes in this video. The guy in front of him said that you can make jokes about x if you are x and Benny pointed out that you don't know a comedians backstory when they get one stage unless they going to lead by explaining it before every set. For anyone who watched this video early on they would have viewed Benny's laughter as some kind of white privilege bogan representative and judged him on that. If they watched this video first then it would give context to him laughing at everything else... Seems like a top bloke, like that guy we've all met at some point.

Interesting how everyone seemed understanding towards the generalisation of pastors, but not the same level of understanding when it comes to muslims.
Hypocrisy is embedded in our system LOL.
Rockey Allen elaborate on this. I am interested in your take on it.
@@MrCurbinator We as human beings have normalised bias towards those whom we see as "of us" and bias against those whom we see as "others"
We fail to realise that we do not choose our skin colour, our nation etc
If you watch both the Muslim Jokes video and the Christian Jokes video, try to notice the implicit hypocrisy in the latter part of the video, and how people clearly understood that generalisation a few million odd pastors to be wrong however, the generalization of 1.8 billion muslims was not so easy to understand.
Its not that these people are bad, its how our minds have been shaped after constantly being fed prejudiced content from media sources as well as Hollywood. And this has been happening for for a few decades now.
@@TheRockeyAllen I see. I agree with your basic sentiment, but disagree on the comparison. Based on the Census data available among European Muslims, somewhere between 20-30% of them hold values would be considered "radical islam." While the number of catholic priests involved globally is staggering, it is restricted to members of the religious order. The splinter cell make up of developing modern terrorist outfits today confirms this is not the case in Islam. The issues are occurring organically, as opposed to the centralized system created by the Vatican. People fail to see hypocrisy because there's a degree of apples and oranges at play.
@@MrCurbinator Indeed, however the data is misleading to a large extent, and I'll tell you why
As per the most decade old studies done by US, Canada, Turkey, Russia etc, the percentage of Muslims who are considered as "politically radicalised" are under 0.1%, and "religiously radicalised" are under 0.001%
A few years ago UK, along with a few other EU countries released a study saying that 20-30% of all Muslims in EU have radical views. I was pretty shocked as to how this study which is being cited so much as staggeringly different results. Looking deeper into the study answered the question.
According to that specific study, the premises for being considered are radicalised are hilarious. If I were a Muslim, and if I said I believe homosexuality is wrong, I am considered as radicalised. Let the person believe that homosexuals should have all human rights, let the person believe that their homosexual friends should live a normal life, but if they believe that homosexuality is wrong, they are considered extremists.
This is unquestionably misleading but smartly executed to fit an agenda. I believe drinking alcohol is wrong, doesn't mean I am imposing banning alcohol for everyone around me, or punishing those who drink?
The questions they asked were smartly worded to trap normal everyday Muslims who are not logicians.
Another example was: Whether they would support Islamic law for the country they live in. If a person, whichever religion, holding whatever beliefs, accepts that so and so belief is true and righteous, and that it would bring goodness to all, then any good person would want all of humanity to enjoin in goodness. If a Christian believes christianity is right, he should desire (not force, just desire or hope or preach) all of humanity to follow whatever he believes is true and explain why so people understand. And the same stands for Muslims.
All the questions were unequivocally trap questions.
The conditions to be considered as "radical" or "extreme" are in itself wrong. And many newer studies are using the same tricks.
Whenever we don't understand anything, instead of making conclusions and holding opinions, we should strive to either study more and understand from all the different perspectives, or if that is too much work we shouldnt hold any opinions or bias at all since we don't understand it in the first place.
Standing for things we dont understand is hypocrisy. Going against things we dont understand is hypocrisy too.
Cheers!
@@MrCurbinator sorry for the really long response 😅
Bill Burr nailed it when asked if his jokes about pedophilia in the Catholic Church went too far by replying, "Don't you think the Catholic Church went a little too far?"
A question I would have loved to ask the people in the panel that were so offended by those jokes.
Benny said it best. Comedy is like a band. If you don't like it, walk out. You cannot stop from hearing things that might offend you, but you can choose to remove yourself rather than try and change everyone else.
Benny is hilarious but a wise man.
🤣🤣🤣
WHEN IT COMES TO COMEDY. THERE IS NO LINE.
End of story
thought i had lost my sense of humor but i have not.thank you for reafferming
as a christian, these were all funny and i could take them very well :)
Even the Jesus ones? I’m Muslim and they offended me.
Neel, I’m first & I love you.
You’re 3rd
Sacred_Evistix YT maybe you are
I see a problem with victimizing children, that crosses the line for me.
benny laughing before the punchline is heartwarming
The guy who laughs is the main reason I laugh 😂
There is no “line” in comedy.
Yeah that was pretty funnny
same
Benny: I know, just shut up and don’t argue with the masses
I think we shouldn't try to defend "offensive" jokes by claiming that they are some sort of justice, but we also shouldn't try to censor the same jokes for not having any greater purpose than to make people laugh.
As a Catholic I'm upset at how poorly we were represented! What a bore!!
Catholics are not Christians. You're a bunch of pagans
I’m joining Benny in hell 🤣😂 I’ve literally laughed so hard!.
As a Christian dealing with atheists for the last 10 years, I've noticed that's a *typical* response for the lost to always respond with gutter come-backs to what is sacred. Frankly, this is so hard-wired into human beings that I consider it an equation, and, that it's proof that there is a God. It's also a "tell" when, upon using their own word against them to show what they are worthy of judgement, they really get angry.
Here's hoping God is gracious and grants unto a lot of people repentance.
Im the female version of Benny, every single one made me LMAO
As a Christian, yes I disagree with the meaning of these jokes, but I laugh at every other type of offensive joke. Happy to see you’re not discriminating.
yo the bald guy with glasses finally laughed
also, I'd like to say how intolerant everyone was with the opinions of benny and adam, like, they kept shutting them down
This series is so great. It's fascinating to see how people seem to want to be offended rather than appreciate how humour tackles a topic.
All these jokes are based. The only argument I'd entertain is "you're making a joke out of childhood s3xual abuse trauma" but then you could equally argue "the target of these jokes is the cloak of moral righteousness these abusers hide behind, not their victims" also could just justify it with "it's just funny brah" equally validly
