    I was in the middle of an online Milton Erickson Institute training just now and suddenly felt really anxious. Took a break and found your video. It relaxed so quickly and throughly that it moved me to tears. How kind of you. Thank you so much!❤

    I’ve never liked nor taken to meditation without background music, but this was wonderful. It was easy and personally very productive.

    As I was doing I saw my pet who passed away 2 weeks ago coming to me joyfully. What does it convey to me. The self guided hypnosis was wonderful. Thank you

      So sorry for your loss, I know how painful that is as I've been through that many times, and the last time was just a few weeks ago too. I am please though that you've had a positive experience with that image of this pet coming to you. They're always with us, we always remember them.

    16:17 how exactly does one use it himself when what you demonstrated is an induction like anyother executed by you (a third party). When you do it yourself, how does it work? Do you talk to yourself aloud? Do you just memorise the script and imagine hearing it? Or you must record this and playback while you listen to it? And if the person(self):goes into a trance, can they continue to guide themselves to comeout of it following the script? Perhaps you should talk us through what happens or what you do in your mind when you do it for self. Its confusing.

      Thanks for your comment, excellent points. I will develop them further in a separate video.
      For now, what I would say is that you first set an intention (I want to relax, imagine things, etc...), set a time limit and also set an alarm just in case. Sometimes, one might actually drift to sleep.
      Now there's the issue of "how can I be the hypnotist and the `hypnotee` at the same time?".
      All hypnosis is self-hypnosis. The hypnotist is merely there to guide.
      You can compare going to hypnosis with driving somewhere. The first few times, you might need a GPS or a co-pilot to get there. Rapidly, you'll just know the road and won't need the instructions.
      The beauty of this induction is that it's a simple formula rather than a complex scripts with clever language patterns. It focuses you inward and helps you get into hypnosis easily by just focusing on your senses. Another easy one is progressive muscle relaxation where you quickly imagine relaxing every muscles from the top of your head down to your feet and then imagine going somewhere nice (some do a lengthy one, I only take a couple of minutes to do it).
      So you can listen to a recording, but eventually, you won't need prompting, you'll just run through the motions and get there.
      You can easily get yourself out of hypnosis, nobody gets "stuck" in hypnosis. But again, if you have to be somewhere after your session, set an alarm just in case. To be honest, often you don't need complex inductions, but I'll keep some for my next video. :)

    Maybe a daft question but what difference does it make if you sit with your legs crossed if that's what you find comfortable?

    • @folkestone.hypnotherapy
      @folkestone.hypnotherapy  5 місяців тому

      As long as you're comfortable, that's absolutely fine and it makes no difference. It's just that most people can't keep their legs crossed for too long without having pins and needles, that's all.
      So not a daft question! :)

    • @colinremmer2417

      @@folkestone.hypnotherapy Thank you. I've heard different hypnotists say to uncross your legs but I've never understood exactly why - now it makes sense

    • @folkestone.hypnotherapy
      @folkestone.hypnotherapy  5 місяців тому

      @@colinremmer2417I'll let you into a hypnotist secret, it's also part of a compliance set. Ask people to perform 2 or 3 simple tasks so that they will comply more easily with the next one. It's similar to the "yes set" that a lot of sales people use to prime you to say "yes". But really, if you want to be hypnotised, it's not that important and, as far as I'm concerned, it's more about comfort.

    I'm not suffering with psychosis but what happens to someone who is?

    • @folkestone.hypnotherapy
      @folkestone.hypnotherapy  Рік тому +3

      Psychosis is where you see or hear things that are not there or believe things that are not true. They've lost touch with reality.
      Hypnosis uses the imagination a lot, so it could trigger a psychotic episode where the person can't differentiate between their imagination and reality. They can go into hypnosis easily but the complications are unpredictable.
      Hypnosis is very safe for most people, but the first rule is to not make things worse for your client.
