First of all actually brought tears to my eyes to watch you guys listen to this song just brings me right back to what I was a teenager Of course based on the poem/story the rhyme of the ancient mariner from the 1700s I remember reading that in high school Iron maiden is more than just a heavy metal band they are storytellers most of their songs have some type of history to them they are just so amazing just so different than any other band I’m glad you had the time to listen to them
Its always a joy watching the kids reaction to hearing Iron Maiden. I'm guessing most of the "reaction" videos are hardly the first listen for the persons reacting, but the fact that a 40 year old song is still being critiqued today by the younger generation speaks to Iron Maidens song writing genius which is only secondary to the experience of seeing it live in the moment.

Iron Maiden are epic. Their songs are told like stories. Like a history lesson. There’s no other band like them. Rime of the Ancient Mariner is right up with Bohemian Rhapsody as one of the greatest songs ever written.

Can't deny their influence on so many bands down the years, or their place in the history of Heavy Metal. I haven't seen any recent footage, but I do know Adrian has a book on fishing coming out in September. It's also got plenty of anecdotes about his life with the band.
