i have been a IRON MAIDEN fan since the mid 80's ! every song and or album tells a story . MAIDEN gets every part of you movin and groovin ! heavy metal will never die ! UP THE IRON'S !
Bruce is a qualified airline pilot, he flies the band on their own 747, he's a best selling author, a successful solo career, an Olympic standard fencer who made the British Olympic team but couldn't attend due to touring schedules, owns hus own aerospace company and has beaten throat cancer - have I forgotten anything?
Bruce is not a commercial pilot any longer as passed the age. Before the current tour he toured with his own Mandrake Project for about 3 months. He also had his hips done and still fences at senior level He was not the first pilot in Maiden that goes to Nicko. Bruce tells a great hilarious story about that time
Forget RUSH. I'll take Iron Maiden every day of the year. Anyways, this is one of their best songs, and I am glad redheadedneighbor enjoyed the song and video. Nice review. 😊
Bruce was a commercial airline pilot. He had a full time job outside of Maiden for many years. Then he combined the two and flew the band around the world in a custom made 747. He even flew the fans to gigs on several tours. In 2006 he flew to Oslo, picked up a Boeng full of Maiden fans, flew to Stockholm, did the show and flew them back the next day. I attended the same type of trip to Italy from England once. He called it Bruce Air. Great memories. He is also still an active fencer on a very high level. Still competes. He was on englands olympic squad in 1988. In addition he is a writer, radio host, screen writer, an entrepenour, the list goes on. I wish I had just a few percent of his energy and creativity.
I was blessed to witness this epic song played live in 1984 at just 13 years old....Iron Maiden and Rush have been the two biggest parts of the soundtrack of my life having had the opportunity to see both of them live about a half dozen times. Luckily Maiden is still touring as they are finising off one tour only to begin their 50th anniversary tour having been founded in 1975.
A guy I used to work with lived and died with Iron Maiden he had the figurines on his desk and posters and shirts were so cool 🤘🤘Hey Johnny 🤘 They had the best artwork on all their shirts posters and merchandise I have ever seen from a rock band 💯💯💯 BTW cell phones at concerts can kick rocks 👞👞👞👞Love this with the sound of the creaking ship ♥♥ Great reaction Red Poetry and Metal together kinda cool ❤❤Nightwish should cover this ❤❤#redheadedneighbor #bestreactor #redsarmy #beautifulfuncountrygirl #33K #heartofgoldwithmetalinhersoul #bestbadjokes #Rushcrush #redheadparrothead #warningawarningaddict #parrotheads #parrothead #redrocker #rush #rushforever #ironmaiden #ironmaidenreaction #rimeoftheanicientmariner #firstreaction
I'm not the biggest Iron Maiden fan, but I've always respected them for their influence on all the bands that came after them. So many bands from the 80's on wanted to BE them. For more Iron Maiden songs, I'm partial to 'Hallowed Be Thy Name', 'Fear Of The Dark', 'Wasted Years', and 'The Trooper'.
Thanks so much for doing that! 💕 I'm glad you enjoyed, I thought you'd love the storytelling. I've read many comments from people who used this song for school! Iron Maiden are often a history lesson. They have loads of songs about real life events or people or literary stuff. Nope they're not all that long, although in later years they've had more like that. Their early albums usually had one track being a big one like this. Bruce Dickinson was a commercial airline pilot at one time and flew the band around on a tour himself! He was also a very good fencer in his younger years and I believe almost made the British Olympic team in the early eighties. Another story telling one you would really like is Hallowed Be Thy Name (do the 1982 Hammersmith version if you do it as Bruce's singing is amazing in it) and there's another song, Dance of Death (en vivo version) where his live performance of it is just superb, he pretty much acts out the song! And if you want to see crowd involvement then anything from the Rock in Rio 2001 is incredible. Fear of The Dark and Sign of the Cross in particular. Oh yes and the t-shirts, yep! That's Eddie the band mascot. lol
Very few bands could come up with such an epic. Just a masterpiece. You really should do yourself a favour and check out more of their stuff. Great reaction. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺🤘
I don't know how our legendary Lads are still going with so much energy on the stage , they still look like youngsters feeding of the crowds energy and giving it back in spade's. There's something to be said about a band that believes in there music , out there for the fans and to still have a good time . Amazing and Impressive 👍🇦🇺🤘
I remember reading this in school and had a huge head start compared to others in the class because I knew every lyric of Maiden's version which is basically just paraphrasing the original. Easy test lol
i saw the tour in '84 (i was ten) and after hearing this song i looked up the poem and started digging in to all of the literary and historical references... sooo much literary and historical songs.
I had a cartoon book of the Rime of the Ancient Mariner as a kid, so I knew the story. My mum was also a big Iron Maiden fan (still is), and had the Long Beach Arena live video. I watched it a LOT. My parents took me and my sister to a rock festival in 1988 too where Iron Maiden was headlining. My second ever concert - I was 11 years old at the time. (The first was when I was 7 and my parents took me to the same festival when Status Quo were headlining).
Beautiful Red Head Neighbour - if you like Nightwish you will also love Iron Maiden - story telling band with an awesome vocalist and outstanding musicians. Enjoy the ride..
Re the poem, one of my most treasured Christmas gifts is a book of 3 Samuel Taylor Coleridge poems, The Rhyme, Xanadu (inspired Rush's song) and Christabel. My mother bought it as she knew I loved those 2 songs
I don’t know about NASA or a symphony but Bruce in addition to being one of the best metal singers and stage performers is or was a licensed air line pilot. In fact on this particular tour he piloted Iron Maiden’s 747 from city to city for this world tour.
I was that kid🤘growing up in wales loving rock music and my teachers thinking poor boy and then blowing there brains in my English class when I write an essay on rime of the ancient mariner🤘🤘all thanks to IRON MAIDEN🤘🤪🍺
I'm one of these kids, back in the mid 80:s. But this same album also had another gem, and it was the speech of Churchill on the beginning of "Aces High"song. It took a couple of years before I really understood that it was a speech that Churchill had made...
Iron Maiden and Sabaton are two of the best story teller bands of all time. both tell stories as songs but Maiden does history, books, movies and dreams that theyve had. theyre the best band in the world hands down.
By the way... This pause in the middle, with the sounds of a ship, gliding around endlessly and alone, and then that new explosion of a start i in my mind the absolute best and epic musical change and start there is..when Bruce comes back and the start where he is laughing.... Come on, that's up there with Mozart, Beethoven and Jean Sibelius (Finlandia) musically....for real 😢
I'm so mad. I live like 10 minutes from the Meadowlands where this was performed and filmed. I didn't attend this show cause I was disappointed from the previous show Iron Maiden put on years prior, which was their whole new album, 2 classic tunes and that was it. It was terrible. So I didn't go this, but this performance of Rime Of The Ancient Mariner is about as epic as a show gets!! I can't believe I missed it.
July 1983, Little Rock, AR, "World Piece Tour", Steve Harris reached out over the audience and gave me "five". One of the best concerts of my life, if not the best.
Iron Maiden are the kings of metal! I have seen them over a dozen times and they are always amazing. Please do some more Iron Maiden. Check out the music video or a live performance of the song Wasted Years.
As you get older you start to realize that Iron Maiden's songs are all filled with poetry, short stories and histor, along with epic music and amazing theatrics
I was at a lot of concerts in my time, Wacken, RAR etc, but somehow always missed the one band that brought me to metal over 40 years ago. Last year I finally had a ticket and was to see them live and then I got really sick a few days before...Now July 2025 in Frankfurt I will be there, even half dead!
I was/am a huge Iron Maiden fan. I remember my mom dismissing my music as typical "brain-dead heavy metal" until I showed her the lyrics to this song, and then showed her the lyrics to "to Tame a land", "Alexander the great" etc. and she said "Oh my god, this is historical based and based on stories and poems I've read" After that, she always smiled when she heard me playing Maiden in my room.
Your smile and the joy in this reaction was pretty amazing tbh. Smiled along with you. Love Iron Maiden, first heard them in the 80's. Have most of their 80's - 90's albums on vinyl. Great band. Top 5 for me when it comes to live performances.
Iron Maiden recently announced new World Tour called Run for Your Lives World Tour next year, 2025 celebrating Iron Maiden's 50th Anniversary starting in May. This tour will mainly focused Maiden's 1st 9 albums of their career.
True Story... When I was nine years old I got a walkman for my Bday and the first cassette tape I bought was an Iron Maiden double album 'Live After Death' on special offer, I think was Seven punts (The Irish 'pounds' at the time). I would sit in the back of the car on journeys and listen to that tape over and over and nine/ten year old me would hear the line from this tune 'through the fog and Ice' as 'through the fcuking Ice' snd thought I was so cool because I was hearing something my parents would have taken off me if they too misheard the lyrics. Damn chuffed with myself every time for slipping that one bye them :)
This is one of my favorite songs to listen to around Halloween. I had Powerslave in the early 2000s (still do, but a different copy). A few days before Halloween 2002, I put Powerslave in the cd player. I'd never really listened to this song before but I left it on and listened to it all the way through. It floored me. Nothing on the radio back then could even touch this. Edit: If there's an Iron Maiden member who'd be voted most likely to do the duck walk, I'd put my money on Janick. You never know what he'll do lol.
One of the greatest band, With great songs and albums, talented musicians and singers, (Paul D'Anno was the original singers replaced by Bruce, he left the band and Blaze Bayley take the place, until Bruce returns to the band) There are so nany songs to suggest, i recommend: Powerslave, or : The Trooper
I grew up a Maiden fan starting in the earlier 80's and I used to have my literature and history teachers listen to some Maiden songs. I remember first time my mom saw that I had an Iron Maiden album she freaked being the conservative Christians that we were/are. So I had to actually sit her down we watched Live after Death on VHS and I gave her the lyrics to a few of the songs and after that she didn't mind me listening to them after that. however I had a lot of Maiden posters all over my walls and of course the shirts etc.
Guilty as charged. These cool and badass lads brought this 12 year old Dutch metal /punk/rockabilly fan (who wanted to be cool and badass but mainly loved their incredibly storytelling and music) to old English lliterature (including mr. Coleridge :) Even ended up studying history (no money in that (warn your children and albatrosses) :), the naughty buggers ! Saw them quite recently at a concert (and surrounded by 15 years old lads and lasses again (train overflowing with young people) :) Their energy is unsurpassed. Maiden will never die.
When I was a kid, I was with my brother and his friend in his basement, and he was into Maiden at the time. I'd never heard of them, but I saw the Killers album cover, and it scared the bejeezus out of me. I was probably 9 at the time. A great album, by the way, with Paul Di'Anno singing.
I've been a fan of Iron Maiden since 1990... Sorry, but I'll try to keep it concise... They are a UK band formed in London, England in 1975 and rose to fame in the 80's as one of the 'New Wave of British Heavy metal' bands... Their music consists of time changes, dual (now multiple) lead guitar harmonies... Their lyrics range from dark fantasy... movies... literature... history... and social commentary. The band name was taken from the movie - "The man in the iron mask". Their 'scary' album covers and t-shirts feature their mascot 'Eddie the Head'... a ghoulish, skeletal figure w/ hollow eyes who appears in various forms - created by artist Derek Riggs and adopted by Iron Maiden for their debut album 'Iron Maiden' in 1980 til today. Iron Maiden was founded by Steve Harris (bass) in 1975 when he began writing original songs and wanted his own band to play them in the pubs of London... They went through numerous musicians - Dave Murray (guitar) joined Iron Maiden permanently in 1977 when they were still unsigned... his friend Adrian Smith (guitar) joined in 1980 after the debut album (which was recorded w/ Dennis Stratton on guitar) In 1982, Bruce Dickinson (vocals) replaced vocalist Paul Di'Anno (who was their singer from 1977 until 1981 and recorded their first 2 albums - 'Iron Maiden' and 'Killers') ... Nicko McBrain (drums) joined in 1983 replacing drummer Clive Burr. In 1990, Janick Gers (guitar) replaced guitarist Adrian Smith... and Bruce Dickinson left the band in 1993 for a while and was replaced from 1995 to 1998 by vocalist Blaze Bayley, who recorded 2 Iron Maiden albums. However, Iron Maiden declined in popularity w/ Blaze Bayley... the band opted to reunite w/ both Bruce Dickinson (vocals) and Adrian Smith (guitar) in 1999 and built their career back up again as a 3-guitar heavy metal band alongside Steve Harris (bass), Nicko McBrain (drums), Dave Murray and Janick Gers (guitars) til today... They are on tour in the US in the Fall of 2024. Early Iron Maiden records had a punk rock edge w/ vocalist Paul Di'Anno's gruff vocal delivery... the band had both catchy songs like - 'Running free' ... 'Wrathchild' ... 'Killers' ... 'Sanctuary'... As well as intricate songs like - 'Phantom of the Opera'... 'Remember tomorrow'... After vocalist Bruce Dickinson joined and recorded their 3rd album 'The number of the beast' in 1982, his high range vocal delivery streamlined Iron Maiden' sound, giving them a #1 UK album and a platinum selling record in the US... Iron Maiden rode high playing arenas across the world on a string of platinum records in the 80's... Some of their biggest hits: 'Wasted years'... 'Run to the hills' ... '2 minutes to midnight' ... 'The Trooper' ... 'The evil that men do' ... 'The number of the beast'... 'Rime of the Ancient Mariner' was one of their first epic tracks over 10 minutes long from their 1984 album 'Powerslave'... and they crafted some more progressive, long tracks like - 'Alexander the great' ... 'Seventh son of a Seventh son'... After Adrian Smith was replaced in 1990 by guitarist Janick Gers, Iron Maiden was riding high on a 3rd #1 UK album 'Fear of the dark' in 1992 when Bruce Dickinson announced that he was leaving the band in '93. Iron Maiden started to embrace longer, epic tracks in 1995 when Blaze Bayley (vocals) joined the band... but Maiden fans hated the new singer's more gruff vocal delivery; he struggled to sing Dickinson's high-range songs in concert... Still, Maiden recorded some standout epic songs like - 'Sign of the Cross' ... 'The Clansman' ... However, Bayley's voice was not 'gelling' w/ the progressive music on their 1998 album 'Virtual XI'... and he was fired after the tour. Blaze Bayley records and tours as a solo artist and still has high regard for Iron Maiden. With the return of Bruce Dickinson and key composer guitarist Adrian Smith... Iron Maiden delivered the album 'Brave new world' in 2000 and scored standout songs like 'The Wickerman' ... 'Blood brothers'... as well as longer epics like 'The Nomad' ... 'Dream of Mirrors'... Iron Maiden has since embraced more progressive songs on newer records... and they have managed to win over young fans all over the world w/ new music. Their latest album 'Senjutsu' (their 17th studio album) was released in 2021. They have the longer tracks like - 'Dance of Death' ... 'For the greater good of God' ... 'Empire of the clouds' ... 'The red and the black' ... 'When the wild wind blows'... 'Senjutsu' ... 'If eternity should fail'... And shorter tracks like - 'Different world' ... 'Speed of light'... 'The writing on the wall' ... 'Stratego' ... 'The reincarnation of Benjamin Breeg'... 'Coming home'.
Great reaction and thanks for sharing. I had English Lit before I ever heard Iron Maiden and their use of poems, history, books, movies and other inspirations in their songs plus the amazing musicianship and singing drew me in and I never left. I have seen them live in the 80's, 90's, 2000's, 10's and last summer. So 5 decades of seeing them in concert. I took my daughters and last summer my oldest daughter took me. The Trooper song is based on the 'Charge of the Light Brigade'; Children of the Damned based on the book/movie. The Prisoner based on the TV show. And on, and on and on. Who knew metal also teaches history, literature and modern culture. Its not just noise. :)
I remember way way back in the day, 11th grade lit class. Had on a Maiden shirt, and the teacher telling us we had to do a essay on the poem. Looked at me, and the other two metal heads, and said "Yeah you guys I know will get A's on this one."
I saw Quiet Riot open for Iron Maiden Number of the Beast tour early 80's at the Charlotte Colessium in NC. At the beginning of the title track of the album #otBeast Bruce made it very clear to the crowd that the band did NOT worship the devil and didn't want to be associated at all with that practice! Until then, at 15yrs old I had believed otherwise. Do I really need to tell anyone how incredibly mind blowing the show was?
Love Iron Maiden! Rush will always be my first love, but Maiden was also a big influence during my head banger days. Bruce was not their original singer, but he definitely brought the best out of the band. Album Number of the beast was the album that got me hooked.
Saw live numerous times incredible beautiful i knew about poem Samuel Taylor Colleridge 17th century iread it in college poetry class been into this great band since 1982
most of us knew this was a poem, we were already well into literature because of previous maiden albums , it was our teachers and non -metal head class mates that were floored that a metal band was making songs based off literature and poems. also the bass player wrote this song ,he is the main song writer and founder of the band. many people will toot bruce's horn while forgetting that Steve harris is the driving force in the band , he started the band , because long ago the band he was in didn't want him writing because they said bassist don't write ... so steve said screw that and started iron maiden . he's been the main writer on most of their biggest hits. but every one in this band are so active and into many other things. so many people forget this is not the "bruce show" it's iron maiden and they are all very skilled and intelligent musicians.
I was there with my son for his first concert. We made it down to the flight 666 Blu-ray. The documentary part we're in the parking lot next to a white Ford Taurus. God damn proud my boy I made it on that video.. even more proud it was his first concert
The Clansman, Dance Of Death and The Evil Men Do are all great songs, especially the live versions. Fun fact: Bruce (vocalist) has a degree in History, Jannick (guitarist, stage right) has a degree in Sociology.
Maidens been my favorite band since 1982. If you like the theatrics you would love Dance of Death En Vivo. Hollowed Be Thy Name 1982 the offical video is live and filmed 2 months b4 the album came out. Peice of Mind is my all time favorite album. The Trooper, Aces High. My favorite 2 songs are Revelations and Still Life. There's like 20 top 10 songs from them. Need more I can give you 15 right off the top of my head.
Maiden is one of the best, if not thee best metal bands ever. You seemed really into it but you were kinda bummed it was so long. I'm confused if you liked it or not. Hardly any commentary at all at the end. Hallowed Be Thy Name, 1982, Hammersmith, if you wanna give them another go. Doesn't matter to me, neighbor.
Part II 😅 Can't Heppit! So accidentally seen these guys as I never heard of them yet. Girls School opened, then Iron Maiden - NUMBER OF THE BEAST tour and the Scorpions - BLACKOUT tour headlined. Well seen the show for $14 and payed $35 for the Iron Maiden shirt! ☮️
i have been a IRON MAIDEN fan since the mid 80's ! every song and or album tells a story . MAIDEN gets every part of you movin and groovin ! heavy metal will never die ! UP THE IRON'S !
UP THE IRONS! The thinking man’s metal.
That would be Queensryche. That's what I alway heard.
Factz Dean...Maiden is King in my household 🤘
Yeah not West Ham Football club I hope 😂
UP THE IRONS!!!!!
Rush is like Iron Maiden. Great musicians, crowds, thoughtful lyrics,...you csn listen too each band and catch something new each time.

Bruce's company in Wales still trains airline pilots even if he can't fly commercial planes any longer.
Wrote and produced a film
Don't be surprised if you spot him in documentaries, especially if they are about trains, ww2, or tanks.
BEST metal band of all time. Going to see them AGAIN this November in NC....can't wait to see the boys again. UP THE IRONS 🤘💀🤘
My 2 Favorite Bands, RUSH and Iron Maiden.
Totally agree
Coming from Australia, it's Irons and AC/DC.
X3
Your not wrong
Forget RUSH. I'll take Iron Maiden every day of the year. Anyways, this is one of their best songs, and I am glad redheadedneighbor enjoyed the song and video. Nice review. 😊
Epic! Best Metal band ever!
No doubt

He was always a vocalist first, the pilot thing was first a hobby then later a side gig.
A fucking Genius

The middle-part with the fog, the shipbell, the creaking of ropes and planks.... It's just absolutely perfect.

Iron maiden is right up your alley for all the reasons you mentioned.
The band that started my metal journey back in '88 and I was able to witness in '92. Bruce is the GOAT
Thanks so much for doing that! 💕 I'm glad you enjoyed, I thought you'd love the storytelling. I've read many comments from people who used this song for school! What he said
One of my top songs from Maiden!!! Live at Long Beach the Live After Death tour is far and away my favorite concert!!🤘🏻💥🔥🙏🏻💯

So cool with a reactor who knows about this poem
Very few bands could come up with such an epic. Just a masterpiece. You really should do yourself a favour and check out more of their stuff. Great reaction. Keep up the good work. Greetings from Australia 🇦🇺🤘
Great comment
Yes! The "day after day, day after day..." bit and the narration at the middle are taken directly from the poem
I got into them in junior high around 1982. Seen them live 9 times. Once with my oldest daughter!
Legendary band, still going strong and touring as we speak!

Those guitars - still gets me teary-eyed.
Brilliant songwriting. The part where the base picks up after the solo is enough to make me cry. A solitary piece of musical genius.
When exactly do you mean?
Yeah, in general, steve is the king!

Such a brilliant track and just one of the best ever live bands... seeing them twice in October on the current tour, can't wait! #UpTheIrons
Finally some Maiden! I have watched all of your Rush videos. Love Maiden just as much!
💪🏻
THE BEST BAND EVER ...ALL YOU CAN DO IS RESPECT AND FOLLOW THIS GROUPTHE BEST EVER

I was Thrilled to get Live After Death on DVD after playing the VHS to shreds!
Wow. My second favorite song in this world. And the best version of it. 🥺🤘 hope you’ll like it
What a band!!!!!!!!!!!!!❤❤🎉🎉🎉
I was at a lot of concerts in my time, Wacken, RAR etc, but somehow always missed the one band that brought me to metal over 40 years ago. Last year I finally had a ticket and was to see them live and then I got really sick a few days before...Now July 2025 in Frankfurt I will be there, even half dead!
Another Red Headed Rabbit Hole of Metal and Mayhem!!
Metal and Mayhem. Love that. Can I steal it?💕
I was/am a huge Iron Maiden fan.
I had a scary T shirt as a teen ! Great song
This song is played every time they are on stage!!!
I do hope they still read this poem in school.
Samuel Taylor Coleridge's poem is definitely still taught, and one of my colleagues supplements it with this song (he's one of many who do)!
I read the poem when I was 12. 6 months later this album came out. I instantly became an Iron Maiden fan.
Ooooo! Do Powerslave! Egyptian Pharaoh Eddie!
Mmm...mmMaiden. Mmmore of 'em, please!
One of the greatest band,
With great songs and albums, talented musicians and singers, (Paul D'Anno was the original singers replaced by Bruce, he left the band and Blaze Bayley take the place, until Bruce returns to the band)
There are so nany songs to suggest, i recommend: Powerslave, or : The Trooper
!!!GOODISM¡¡¡ Greetings from Argentina.
I saw this tour in Detroit. I was already out of highschool. Great FN show.
🤘😎🤘
THAT SMILE !! From start to finish..
For more theatrics, please review
Iron Maiden-Dance Of Death EN VIVO 🤘🏻
They are the best all-time metal band, and yes, we are BIG fans.
Been a fan since the 80's!
One of the best song of Iron Maiden🤘
Guilty as charged. These cool and badass lads brought this 12 year old Dutch metal /punk/rockabilly fan (who wanted to be cool and badass but mainly loved their incredibly storytelling and music) to old English lliterature (including mr. Coleridge :)
Even ended up studying history (no money in that (warn your children and albatrosses) :), the naughty buggers !
Saw them quite recently at a concert (and surrounded by 15 years old lads and lasses again (train overflowing with young people) :) Their energy is unsurpassed. Maiden will never die.
Its great these guys all got back together from when I was into them in the mid 80's
They went through numerous musicians - Dave Murray (guitar) joined Iron Maiden permanently in 1977 when they were still unsigned... his friend Adrian Smith (guitar) joined in 1980 after the debut album (which was recorded w/ Dennis Stratton on guitar)
In 1982, Bruce Dickinson (vocals) replaced vocalist Paul Di'Anno (who was their singer from 1977 until 1981 and recorded their first 2 albums - 'Iron Maiden' and 'Killers') ...
Some of their biggest hits:
'Wasted years'...
Wow
Looked at me, and the other two metal heads, and said "Yeah you guys I know will get A's on this one."
awesome!
Simply a progressive metal masterwork. Fun reaction. Excellent that you were familiar with the source material.
Love Iron Maiden! Rush will always be my first love, but Maiden was also a big influence during my head banger days. Bruce was not their original singer, but he definitely brought the best out of the band. Album Number of the beast was the album that got me hooked.
when i was in grade 8, my English teacher played this song for us during class. That was in like 1983
Everyone that saw or listened to the Live After Death concert from 1985 knew what this song was about.
Saw live numerous times incredible beautiful i knew about poem Samuel Taylor Colleridge 17th century iread it in college poetry class been into this great band since 1982
Eddie Lives!!!
Fear of the Dark is another great watch!!!
It is the scary season with Halloween coming
most of us knew this was a poem, we were already well into literature because of previous maiden albums , it was our teachers and non -metal head class mates that were floored that a metal band was making songs based off literature and poems.
also the bass player wrote this song ,he is the main song writer and founder of the band.
many people will toot bruce's horn while forgetting that Steve harris is the driving force in the band , he started the band , because long ago the band he was in didn't want him writing because they said bassist don't write ... so steve said screw that and started iron maiden . he's been the main writer on most of their biggest hits. but every one in this band are so active and into many other things. so many people forget this is not the "bruce show" it's iron maiden and they are all very skilled and intelligent musicians.
Bruce Dickinson i 17:57 s an amazing vocalist, among other things! Iron Maiden rules! Up the Irons! Great job R.H.N.! ❤❤❤
Xanadu, by Rush is based on a Samuel Taylor Coolidge poem! Kubla Khan...
Great first song for Iron Maiden!!
I was there with my son for his first concert. We made it down to the flight 666 Blu-ray. The documentary part we're in the parking lot next to a white Ford Taurus. God damn proud my boy I made it on that video.. even more proud it was his first concert
Iron Maiden, Judas Priest, and LOVEBITES are my favorite heavy metal bands! 🤘
I’d encourage you to do more Iron Maiden live reactions
Song suggestions?
@@redheadedneighbor number of the beast / aces high/ Hallowed be thy Name.
@@redheadedneighbor fear of the dark also
So many Maiden songs you need to listen to, i would start with Hallowed be the Name.
I see them live 8 or 9 time and still listen today age 64
Great reaction
Been a fan for decades now! Aside from this song (my fav!), Hollowed be thy name is in my top two from Maiden.
The Clansman, Dance Of Death and The Evil Men Do are all great songs, especially the live versions. Fun fact: Bruce (vocalist) has a degree in History, Jannick (guitarist, stage right) has a degree in Sociology.
Hallowed Be Thy Name; Poweslave...live... etc.te recomiendo saludos desde Chile. Up the Iron.
I agree that Iron Maiden could certainly make the case of the greatest Metal band they are undeniable that is a fact.
if there can be only one... let it be Iron Maiden
truth
Up The Iron's, Thanks' Red!!!
