my touch off speed is extremely slow, any idea why? all other z movements are normal speed

Yes its the plunge rate on sheetcam providing your velocity is set right on you're z axis

When I change the plunge rate(up to 8000mm/min)on the tools in sheetcam it doesn't make a difference. Should I be changing the plunge rate somewhere else?@@smallgarageworkshop6119
