This requires high-precision assembly of the machine or xy limit switch or willow pin fixation. The engraving machine probably needs to test repeated positioning.They add a spring to the z-axis to avoid repeated positioning of the z-axis. Generally, the machine does not tighten the milling cutter so that the z-axis returns to zero and then tightens it to achieve positioning.
The thing should also be able to cut a solder paste mask. Apply solder paste > place components > melt solder with hot air iron > apply additional solder where needed.

Can we use KiCad instead of Sprint-Layout? I THINK we can export DXF from there and upload it in Carbide 3D copper, or is this step useless now with Cut2D?
The expense for producing only this one PCB is much too high for a " normal " user ! But it is an interesting demonstration of the possibilities that modern semiconductor equipment provides today 😊!

This system here is good but not so automated, which increases the cost and operating time. That said, to rely on POST and Customs to take care and deliver the package on time can be a hassle, this is a good thing for fast prototyping/production and checking if everything works. Besides its independent of any manufacturer so you dont have the trouble of Supply Chain. Everything has its ups and downs :)

But I recently bought a desktop CNC for another project and have been thinking of using it to make my own PCB's, too. That's why I watched this video. He's obviously a procedure/detail/perfectionist, and I admire his work ethics and techniques. Quite professional. You really need precision with surface mount components.
With the help of special expensive equipment, every housewife can do this. Try making a printed circuit board using only an iron and an A4 laser printer. Then I will say that you are very cool

I like it getto style: - get a free/really cheap old laser printer - get a glass container (e.g. for cooking) - get the required chemicals For the actual design you can even use MS Paint. LOL The stuff in this video is too fancy and expensive.
Used to do that way when i was a kid, with iron and glossy paper but when you grow up and have some extra money on the side you can upgrade by eliminating difficult procedures.

the laser could also heat the solder joints very accurately once the components are in position. this is basically a laser engraver

It's a neat idea for something very very small. They aren't showing all of the actual processing time in order to create the pcb.

Потому видео и называется 'прототипирование', а не серийное производство. При прототипировании и НИОКР никто не смотрит на цену прототипа.
