So nice to find a FP 4 review! Waiting for the /e/ OS review, as I'm planning to leave Google behind, hehe. Thanks!

What about the microphone? People complain it records with a very low volume in e.g. Signal. Also noise cancellation is poor, people experience many echos while having video calls. And lastly, pictures in low light (e.g. cozy living room) are shot very poorly. I don't get that none of the reviewers encounter these issues. They all do the same and have the same conclusions. While people that *actually* use the phone report issues you encounter from using the phone, check the forum for these details.

I'm not just a reviewer. I've put my iPhone in the drawer and have been using this phone, which I bought with my own money, as my daily driver for over 6 weeks, and intend to continue to do so.
So, from a person who *actually* uses the phone, I've had no problem with noise cancellation or echo. I make video calls on Messenger, WhatsApp and Zoom with this phone and have never had any complaints. I haven't tried Signal since very few people use it here.
Regarding the camera, yes its not great - something I actually mentioned in the review. However, updates have Improved the situation somewhat; I can now shoot decent low light or night mode photos, I just need to give the software an extra few seconds to capture the image, compared to the iPhone which is instant.
Is this phone as good as an iPhone or a Samsung S22? No. Do I feel better about using this phone compared to the others? Definitely.
