Perfect timing, I'm coming to the end of my ccna studies and have actually been messing around with the devnet version of cml to try things out but this will be far more convenient

Guys, there is also the cisco packet tracer which is more than enough to pass your CCNA. There are some limitations of course like some missing functions on the WLC but other than that it's a great tool for CCNA. Actually even after passing the exam, I still use it sometimes to simulate a real life scenario that I encounter In my job so that I test it before making the same configuration on the production network. However I will also test the CML, it looks very interesting but 5 nodes is a big limitation to be honest.
Maybe try signing up with a personal account and put in whatever address you want for the company address. I didn't have to put in anything other company information, and I was able to download.

No. CML has existed for a long time. The great news is that we now have a free tier. Packet Tracer and CML both have advantages and disadvantages. Use both and see which you find most useful.

I have updated everything.but when i click for downloading the cml software for VMware, a pop ups keeps coming, ' u need to provide full address fow downloading cisco services and software '. I wasted 1 hr and then quit bcoz it was getting late.... I will try today again.

I think a lot of people including me will be creating labs to use with CML. This is huge news as I haven't published labs for CML because until now it was a paid product.

I've had access to a License before through work, but I've hesitated to use it due to how resource intensive it is against Packet Tracer., 8GB RAM is just the minimal requirement. This was probably worth a mention in the video.
I passed my ccna this years I'm in qatar and 36 years so still here in the middle there is no benefit to be certified they will always asking experience . maybe ccna and ccnp are more benefit when you are in the western countries but not in the middle east

In my case, while trying to type an address, the UI showcasing the selection of available addresses was not immediately shown and I thus assumed I had to manually type one in the equivalent input section. After I realized there is a selection I can choose from and picked one I was successfully able to proceed with the downloads. I'd advise the team to look into making it more clear for users that there is a selection view that pops up while writing in an address to avoid confusion.
Like others, the Cisco site keeps me running around in circles. I've deleted browser cache, used a different browser, updated company name (although I'd rather just have it at home for self-study). Nothing is working. So, I'm stuck.
Looks like even the PCs are counted in the limit of 5. You could replace the PCs with a single Ostinato for CML node with multiple ports and emulate multiple hosts or subnets. If you would like to see a how-to blog post or video, reply and let me know!

for learning purpose packet tracer is still good for beginners because it has simulations and slows down steps for udnerstanding and also has easy interface for learning packet behavior at diff layers. but yes you should get familiar with CML and plan to move on later.

Packet tracer is completely free but doesn't support some advanced features. This is perfect for CCNA. But if you are studying for CCNP, you need more than that.

Why is it so damn hard to create an account to get the “Free” CML. I don’t have a company nor do I have a company email so I get no access?!?

Just create a fake company, like I did

Why would I want to use this instead of Packet Tracer? (For learning specifically)
Packet tracer has limitations as not all of the IOS commands have been implemented.
CML is using the actual IOS versions from the routers/switches.

Yes. CML is an emulator and Packet Tracer is a simulator. CML is like working on real devices.

The personal version supports up to 20 devices 😀 Check the devices you get to make sure all the devices you want to study are in CML.
