Honestly I enjoy the extensive backstories that Shane implements into his weird little creations. It reassures me that sometimes unhinged thoughts are productive
In defense of Ryan, he clearly was being kept in the dark about what the genie and Asmodeus were truly planning. He was blinded by jealousy and frustration, not by hatred or malice. Saying he helped murder the professor is misleading. He helped Asmodeus possess the professor, but after that his hands are clean.

Something I noticed that I haven’t seen many people talk about is the fact that this episode was introduced to us as being about hippo meat but ultimately was a story about a man Really hitting the nail of themes with impersonations, cannibalism and everything not being what it seems
I love how every single episode/ “musical guest” Ryan’s face just portrays more and more disappointment and bafflement. I like to think Ryan’s never seen the song before (at very least) and listening to Shane’s lyrics telling the story he just learned and how fucked up it is he’s thinking “I try so hard with ~unsolved/haunted places…Shane’s written a sexy love ballad about eating a hippo.” They are the best duo on UA-cam and a match made in heaven tbh. I love how the professors voice sounds different to normal, it's a great bit of foreshadowing. Like, it sounds crunchy like it's coming through a phone call or something it's so fun
the detail in the last segment is amazing, the tabs on Ryan's computer all being references: dogs watching television (Shane's first video at buzzfeed), nighttime dan dj, time travel, puppet necromancy, trophy supply chain, blue man group lmao. I love this!!!
also the "does hair grow through the skull" on the science news, its a reference to unsolved if i remember correctly. i loved pausing and looking through all the details they put it!
Love it! Can't wait to see how they weave this narrative. Also appreciate that it's at the end so people who just want the history can just skip it. Aaaah so excited
At 43:45, the tabs Ryan has opened include "Trophy supply chain" (I'm guessing just a little on the last word), "puppet necromancy," his inbox - with 665 messages!, "time travel methods," and "Chicxulub extinction" (The Professor's hat and glasses were found at the site of the meteor that killed the dinosaurs, meaning *he* killed them!). Even better, at 43:47, you can see another tab that says "Nighttime Dan DJ." 🤣 Be sure to notice the story headlines too. 🤣🤣🤣
He still feels bad about what happened and wants to believe that the Professor is really back… but just like the rest of us… Ryan also senses that something is really wrong here…
I doubt it was intentional but the scene of Ryan searching the internet for clues on the Professor's death/existence made me think of Bella googling "do vampires exist?" in Twilight omg 🤣🤣🤣 I'm soooo excited about this new season, it's a real source of joy after the void that Ghost files left behind 🥺 can't wait to see what happens next !!!
VERY glad Shane got the chance to take the energy from the hotdaga from Buzzfeed days and put it into his own show. I'm so glad it's going even further off the rails. This is exactly what I've been hoping for.
Ryan was debating if he should quit or just go full time on ghost/demon hunting 😂 meanwhile in his head Ricky Goldsworth is telling him to just kill the puppet & hippo 😂

Loving the vibes this season. Seems like The Professor may just be trying to equip Ryan to become the perfect host for a dead puppet ghost. Can't wait to find out, he's a real mastermind.
Oh God. What if your right? What if this was the plan the whole time? The professor denies Ryan a victory in order tick him off so bad that Ryan plan's the professor's demise. Ryan, now wracked with guilt wants to help bring the professor back, but the professor may claim that the only way for him to come back is to take over Ryan's body. Ryan has no debt to the genie... the professor could start his life anew in Ryan's body.
@@autumnsfablekeeper4419 It could even happen without Ryan's imput. Or at least start already. They gave him "puppet cream". So Ryan keeps winning, and the Professor keeps giving him things to aid on his journey to becoming the perfect host for a puppet ghost.
That's 1 and also you can only wonder how this real life scheme would be if it really had got someone convinced or succeeded. The food supply would be drastically different than what it is now.

Ryan’s reward gives off big “it puts the lotion on the skin or else it gets the hose again” vibes. And now I’m just imagining the Professor dancing to Goodbye Horses.
Based on the fact that the professor looks different and their are several buddah figurines on the new set, I feel as though they may be hinting that this is a reincarnation of the professor. Also, that puppet cream is DEFINITELY going to turn Ryan into a puppet
Fans on tumblr have already done a deep dive with screenshots and slowed down footage and the prevailing theory atm is that this is a hologram. He glitches visually once, and his voice glitches numerous times; he's a paler color; he went feral when Ryan tried to touch him; the box he refused to talk about appears to be a power source of some kind; when Ryan was reading that online article, there was a link at the bottom for an article on hologram technology; and, most importantly, no jelly beans.
@@CaseyTyler357 That is a great theory!! But then again, how would we explain that ending? He was clearly running across the floor. Maybe there is a real AND hologram version of the professor?
I love the implication that the professor wants to eat Ryan, but I am SO EXCITED for the possibility that all of these episodes are going to be about the history of food!
I think the professor is a zombie rn , his furs a lot lighter and he has electronics hooked up to his stage forcing his body to live and if it turned off he probably would die
Hi! Late reply- I’m not sure if this current version was made by Shane cuz it looks spiffed up but Shane did make the original (the one with the pull curtain before they started animating it) and designed it!
I actually felt a pang in my heart when the professor recoiled as Ryan tried to reach at him. I can't imagine the trauma he has surrounding his satchel and jelly beans... Especially since the trauma is fresh. His little heart dropping in the pit of his stomach as his gaze settles on Ryan's hand. The same hand that took every bit of life essence from him. The hand of the man he shared his TV show manifestation of his love of history and teaching with. The hand that betrayed his trust, that he planted his trust in as he saw what he thought was a beautiful change of heart for his beloved student. A chill goes down his spine, shaking his entire frame involuntarily. His fur stands on end, trembling as he felt cornered. Trapped like a wild animal. All within the span of a few seconds, dread courses through his veins and compells him to lash out, yelling to not touch him.

I was thinking that too. Something is up about it, like he got "special" lotion this week, then one week he might win a special pendant that he has to wear immediately. At the season finale, it's revealed that everything was a part of a evil ceremony to punish Beef Boy!!
My theory?
He's gonna get turned into a puppet professor
And Shane is going to be competing next series

When is your fanfic coming out?
lol jk I agree
“I don’t want to kill people” Ryan says to the reanimated puppet he helped murder. Also, Sarah’s hair is so pretty, I can’t get over it.
That was never his intention though, the Genie tricked Ryan right from the beginning.

I love how they simultaneously have a callback to Ghost Files and parody it at the same time with the voiceovers.
Cried laughing over Ryan's face during the hippo vore song. Calling it now! The professor's a ghost, manifesting via the box, and prepping Ryan's body for possession. The bangs and rattles on the soundstage, the weird lighting, his pale blue fur, the little glitches around him, the puppet literally saying, "I'm dead!" when Ryan stepped on him... we got ourselves a ghoul, boys!

I love how every single episode/ “musical guest” Ryan’s face just portrays more and more disappointment and bafflement. I like to think Ryan’s never seen the song before (at very least) and listening to Shane’s lyrics telling the story he just learned and how fucked up it is he’s thinking “I try so hard with ~unsolved/haunted places…Shane’s written a sexy love ballad about eating a hippo.”
