Hey Matthew. Did you say 'Could' or 'Couldn't' get them re-coned? Reason i ask is that i can get one with a failed surround, been for sale for a while, no one wants it.
@@HashDogg06 if you can get it cheap enough the motor is worth it.. I have a friend that rebuilt 2 of them and they slam.. it changes the fs of the sub but they still produce huge motor force..

From someone that has been into car audio for 20+ years, Rockford, Kicker and JL Audio subs has been the foundation of quality sub frequencies! And can't forget DD Audio! I enjoy the newer brands as well but those 4 brands will always be close to my heart! I've had subs from all of them over the years and they never disappoint! Running B2 audio at the moment and love the sound quality! Hope all the fathers had a blessed Father's Day✊🏾
Heyyy, ive got an old Kenwood monster that looks similar to this it too is a 13in woofer called the Kenwood kfc wps1300d rare monster i have only ever seen the one that i own and man for what it is does it ever get down! Has 25a inline fuses with the voice coils so you can't even blow the sub if you overpower or clip the snot out of it then you just gone pop a fuse but what it hides under the skirt is the engineering behind it they essentially took two woofers and stacked them on top one another in one basket so you're getting the performance of two 13in woofers with the cone area of one!
That fosgate does look like it can bring some pressure for sure, and mane that DD looks soooo 🔥🔥 sure Matthew is gonna be knockin some pictures off some walls with that DD monster in that MBE box💯🔊💨💨💨💨
I have and had the T2-16 from Rockford. The first one I had the surround failed and I totally blamed it on Texas heat and humidity. Well I still have the basket which has the serial number. #401. This was definitely some good information. My second T2 is doing just fine!!

I remember back in the late 90s you had Rockford Fosgate, Orion ,Kicker,MTX,Crossfire,PPI used all of those abd then in 2003 I picked up a MMATS Juggernaut 15 powerd it with a US Amps VLX400 and man what a sub and amp I wish I still had that setup

@mbe - If you think the RF T2 13” motor structure is impressive then you need to pickup a Black Brick Premium Audio BrickHouse 12” or 15” subwoofer. If you wait a little you could review their new BrickHouse 18” which will be coming out soon. The 12 and 15 have a 470 oz. motor structure and each weigh over 70 lbs each. The 18” will weigh over 100 lbs.
Weight means nothing sir? The T2 motor structure has cooling , true cooling, built in . And a propeitary basket. Not open source. I like originality in my woofers.
The t2 is also 528 oz.. its a 4in american coil. The cone is a blend of 7 glass woven fibers. The magnets are segmented. The basket and landing are 1 off. And a special engineer was brought in to design them. No offense but a black brick sub isn't gonna impress over a t2 .
I blew T2, and Rockford would not recone it. Could not get a recone from anyone. It sat in a repair shop for 2.5 years and I finally got my money back and threw it in the garbage.
Most likely user error if you smoked a 4in coil .. probably clipping.. several people offer recone and the motor itself was still good and is strong enough for 18in baskets. I guess one man's trash is actually treasure 😊

Nice subs! I ran two RF hx2 12s in a VT box back in High School. Hard to believe its been 23 years since I ran those RF. That DD is gonna be loud!!
