I run a single older DD 608d daily on a AB VFL100.1 SPL. It handles the amp like a champ. What most surprised me is the SQ. I can pick from 30 different subs but that's the one I always grab.
Got a orion hcca 1k on two DB Drive G7 and a hcca splx 4k in the box waiting to be used at 33hz in my 98 2dr tahoe as an experiment and I am taking on All and I mean All dd equipped vehicles on music in sq and output for the money 💰. This includes the 2508 with all the bells and whistles and the toro 8s and the new sundown 8s. Thanks to mbe for helping me find db drive. Normally I run ampere audio revision 10s on 4.5k but you guys make everything fun but I got to tell you db drive #1 in 8s then I'm a run the db 15 or 18 in a banger sq setup my friends don't think it can be done but zapco will take care of the dips and bips when Miles Davis and John Coltrane bring it on in and I'm so tight in the hip hop instrumentals listening responsibly lol db g7 #1
Hmmm . Interesting.. ive seen parts of this elsewhere.. mirror image spider packs.. aluminium heatsink behind the backplate.. can you tell me if this is either a 160oz dual slug or a 240 oz motor?
The mass of a motor doesn't tell you much abt it tbh. A flat pancake motor and a tall skinny motor of the same mass will behave very very differently. The exterior dimensions are 6.5" in diameter (before the boot) and 3.25" deep. It has a stronger motor than the 2508F.
@@blakebrockhaus347 I wasn't knocking the sub brother.. dd makes stellar products.. 👍 the similar sub I was thinking of is actually incredible for a 10. if they have done this on a 8 it will be very impressive
Seems like technology is evolving on subs . A lot of revisions on different companies . Reslient sounds also updating the plantium 12 . It looks like it shares some things with the b2 audio rage xl
@bailey2517 idk but my rage xl hits all the notes to bad my rear deck isn't keeping up with the vibrations even with sound deadener and seat down I had to bring the gain down . The lowes are crazy
Wouldn't a more efficient subwoofer give the same output at much less wattage? All of my stereo hobby is on my boat. So horribly efficient subwoofers are not an option. I learned that by trial and error. Using jl audio now that are rated for 1/3 the wattage of my previous setup. Yet the jl subs have more output as well.
