    It's been a minute since I've done cabinets so I wanted a refresher video it's a very satisfying video that you have put together ,very complete. thanks for going through all the details. Your commentary is really good. Nice emphasizing your whip lines there so much more convenient to manipulate and move around tight areas and to get the true motion on your arm to create your final layoff.

    I recently purchased a fuji sprayer from The Paint People to paint some custom made fireplace cabinets I made. Wow, everyone needs to rush out and get one of these sprayers. Within a few minutes I was spraying like a pro and the results were top notch. Although hiring a painter (like in this video) to do this would have been easier as I masked up the entire area which does take some time, but I like to DIY and thought I'd give this a try. No regrets. The guy in the video is obviously a pro and not to take anything away from him, but it is possible to DIY this with similar results if you have the time and the proper equipment. On to the next project!

    I’ve been using tritech 208 and 206 fine finish tips on an airless, absolutely incredible finish. And a whip hose is mandatory inside the narrow passageways of a kitchen. Great job. I’ve been using pre cat for years but just switched to renner and it’s incredible. And learning about positive pressure and negative pressure is another simple tip. Also a quality sander isn’t an option, at least to get down to bare wood. Whenever I skip sanding it always comes out sub par. Whenever I sand between every coat, it comes out even better

      Renner is a brand name , also, cic, malesi, etc. These are water based idustrial coatings. As this guy mentioned on anothet level. Check Eric Reason, test dont guess, on youtube. He has been usings these new polyurethane 1k and 2k water base coatings for the last couple of years. A ton of info about products, tips, brands, sanders, sanding pads, methods, airless, air assit, hvlp, etc.

If you get runs by mistake let them dry out fully and then deal with them after the fact don't go after them while they're wet you'll make a mess also you can go to habitat for humanity buy some cabinets for cheap and practice on them cheap furniture too is nice to buy to practice on.

    This video is oddly calming and soothing to watch! I need help with a project: Want to paint a great room built-in to match a brand new kitchen. The GR built-in has car-siding with a honey gold finish (1980!). New kitchen opposite is a mix of painted and wood cabinetry. I am a homeowner who wants to prep my built-in for professional spraying. Got an orbital sander but the car siding crevices are tricky. Any helpful suggestions besides more muscle, perseverance and patience? I'm tempted to remove the car-siding altogether.

I'm currently repainting the inside of my home BM Simply White and using Advance on all the doors/trim. I previously painted my cabinets using Sherwin Williams and as careful as I am I still have a chip here and there but I didn't use any kind of hardening agent on them after which may be part of the problem.

    I'm a DIY'r that has to tackle my kitchen cabinets this week. We're talkin' mid-range cabinets... nothing fancy. I believe they are poplar, shaker-style.
    I want to spray but didn't want to pay the big $$$ for a good HVLP piece of equipment and am not trying to get a super high-end finish, just something that looks good and fresh. I forgot that we had bought a Graco Magnum X7 YEARS ago (like ten years) that was still in the box in the attic. Never used! I'm going to be using FFLP 211 and 311 tips while using Sherwinn-Williams Extreme Bond Primer and Emerald Urethane Trim Enamel.
    Does anyone have experience using a Graco X7 for cabinets? Is this a sound approach given the situation outlined?
    This video gives me some level of hope that I'm on the right track. Lots of great advice here and hoping to gain a few more perspectives.

    • @alterrex6921
      @alterrex6921 3 роки тому +1

      311 is too small of a tip for the extreme bond primer you'll get tails even at 3000psi
      I would use a 312 thinned 10%. 310 for the emerald urethane, have used a 308 with it as well no issues unthinned. X7 isn't approved for solvent-based paints so use at your own risk. If you do use it run thinner through it after the primer and make sure the gun is bonded to the metal waste container your shooting into. Provides a ground for static build up in the hose.
