They filmed that ending, it's the alternate ending. Check it out for sure. I'm so glad they used this ending though, Rod showing up to save the day was fantastic.
Thank you for this reaction to Get Out and sharing your perspectives on the subject matter. Full transparency, I’m a 39 year old white skinned woman, I was born in America but my family is from Cuba ((I say it that way because I don’t feel like either as I’m too American for the Cubans and too Cuban for the Americans).. I’m going to try to express myself and hopefully I don’t put my foot in mouth. One of the things that upsets me most about this movie is how the girlfriend manipulates and gaslights Chris the entire time. Not only that, because of his lived experience as a black man AND the trauma of how he lost his mother, he is right to have these negative gut feelings about the situation he’s in but second guesses himself and then disregards his own feelings because the girlfriend minimizes his feelings. I know it’s a movie, and that was part of the evil plan for the bad guys, but it bothers me the most I think. Since I’m not a man nor black, the way I relate to it is like “people pleasing” which is something I’m trying to get away from with the help of therapy: for example, Chris knows in his gut something is off, but he doesn’t want to make waves or be dramatic and be labeled as “angry black guy”. As a woman combined with my particular lived experience, I have gone through with many things I was extremely uncomfortable with all because I didn’t want to make person mad or think I’m a spicy crazy Spanish lady (the spicy Spanish lady thing has been said to me by coworkers and clients multiple times when I’m simply trying to take firm stance about something not raising my voice or anything, which made me uncomfortable, but I never said anything because of the people pleasing). Obviously, that doesn’t compare in any way to a historical atrocity or this movie for that matter.., but on that front that’s how I relate to it. I watch documentaries a lot, I love history, and I try to watch things that are as graphic as possible and as honest as possible when it comes to marginalized/discriminated communities among others because I feel that there are some things that all people have to see (especially if you are not necessarily marginalized). In my opinion, part of why some horrible things happen it’s like people forget or think “this (insert atrocity) will never happen/never happen again” or “this didn’t happen” or “get over it”. And I’m like WTF these things have happened throughout history and will continue to happen if we forget or get complacent or think it’s not your problem until it is. it’s like you have to keep your eyes open. I regularly listen to Holocaust survivor testimonials, and one of the survivors said it best and I’m kicking myself for not remembering his name. He said “Great atrocities start with small acts of hate”.. I think even if you take out the element of the “horror” of the bad guys doing the brain/body swap, and just see the dialogue and interactions, it demonstrates what that what quote is talking about. I love when a story teller can use a genre like horrror fantasy or sci-fi to tell a good story while putting equal if not more weight on social commentary and holds up.a mirror to society. Yes please! Thank you guys for doing what you do, please keep doing it! Thank you for your time and patience and understanding. (Please educate me if needed). Like I said I put my foot in my mouth a lot I’m sorry if I did as that was not my intention. That said, YES PLEASE PREACH RAKAI (I’m sorry if I spelled your name wrong, again please educate me if needed as I believe names are important). Now I’m going to unpause the rest of the video, so I can continue to focus listening to your alls reflections on the movie (I had to stop to type this after Rakai took a pause on his thoughts because I so much agreed with what he was saying and didn’t want to miss a thing, and also random thanks for being a social studies teacher. Sorry I just have great respect for educators. I use to be a teacher but frankly I got burned out and ironically couldn’t handle being a mandated reporter and the fact that trying to report abuse or help a child with the authorities often had the opposite effect in that the parents would retaliate on the child). Thank you guys again for doing what you do. I wish you the best and continued success with your channel and long distance hugs!🤗
Loved what Rekkai had to say. This movie was also too triggering for my girlfriend, and she's never going to watch it again, despite her recognising it's quality and it's obvious relevance. It was a little too relevant and too raw. So I completely see where Rekkai is coming from. She also won't watch things like 13th and When They See Us for the same reasons. Too real, too raw. Like many people she's experienced lots of direct and indirect racism and she doesn't need to be re-traumatised in her free time.
Jordan Peele considered this a horror movie when he made it. And he is such a horror fan, that he has practically an encyclopedic knowledge of the genre.
yo the girls commentary constantly cutting in and out definitely added to the reaction, couldn't hear over half what they had to say but glad that was implemented
Since you mentioned "hypnosis", there's a movie called 'Stir Of Echoes' from 1999 starring Kevin Bacon that uses hypnosis as a trigger for the film's plot. It's pretty good and I'd recommend it for anytime actually but especially for the month of October.
Every conversation he had with someone foreshadowed how he overcame them. Him telling the brother fighting was too brutal for him & the brother telling him jujitsu is about staying two steps ahead of your opponent (being bashed in the head with a glass ball & chris outsmarting him at the door by predicting his next move) & the dad talking about how much he hated deer (as yall know black men were also referred to as bucks so that was a double entendre right there) and he ended up losing his life by Chris using that trophy deer head he’d hung in the room right above where he briefed all of the black people before their surgery. It goes realll deep with symbolism and that’s one of my favorite things about Peele’s movies. They have insane rewatch value bc of all of the Easter eggs and there’s plenty of things you won’t realize until a second watch, AT LEAST, so you can have that foresight going into it
1:15:00 I’d also like to add to that by pointing out that if you were a prisoner of war, your children and their children and so on weren’t forced to be slaves for centuries afterwards.
I like watching Black people react to this movie because entertainment value aside, there are opportunities to learn from their commentary. I've learned that even though the behavior from the white people is exaggerated for the story, a lot of Black people have experienced enough similar behavior that they can still relate to the main character's experience during the party scene. That's been eye-opening for me, to be honest, because I found that to be one of the most horrifying parts of the movie. Because it's so REAL, and plausible. And even though the partygoers are technically assigning positive traits to Black people, it's still dehumanizing because they're just making baseless assumptions about an entire group of people. Denying Black people their humanity by insisting they all fit into this one tiny box is pretty gross, and treating him like a dog in a show? Ugh. So I found that scene disgusting, and when I started watching reactions and realized Black people are genuinely familiar with that behavior, it really was eye-opening for me. So, I definitely appreciate videos like this. Thanks for the work it took to make it. :)
Like I get playing some puzzle game to avoid a scary movie sucking you too far in but when you are actually doing a reaction video and recording yourself for thousands to watch and you can’t commit to putting your phone down for an hour or so what are we doing? Syntell has seen this before - we all hear watching Rekkai not watch a movie. Edit to add: after finishing video I fully feel Rekkai’s position on the traumatic load of this movie and why he chose to ignore it until now and why he was distant from jump - totally get that. Maybe would have been better to say no though? Reaction videos (like anything else) should be enthusiastic and consensual.
Lol u mean that security blanket? Shoulda sensed Rekkai's idgaf energy when he cussed in the first 3 minutes. I KNOW Syntell probably told him that'll lighten up the bag too.
To be fair.... I didn't miss a single thing... The position of my camera that I had to use and my screen throws it off and makes it look like I am preoccupied.... and I DO NOT do horror movies.... but I got through this....
Okay so @6:11 what we all as viewers had to find after watching this multiple times is that when Rose was at the bakery or café, she bent down on purpose so the black man standing behind her could check her out. He started checking her out as soon as she walked in. She was already planning out her next victim once she trapped Chris in. She's looking at him in the glass looking and smiling at him while she's looking at the food. That detail took me awhile to get and see once I read comments about it
This movie is triggering and especially with the out of pocket going on in this day and age. I remember being small in the south learning via social studies about our history and watching movies like Mississippi Burning or in the more recent years 12 years a slave and feeling that same trigger still. I swore off those movies because of that feeling, and I understand Rekkai.
Same, same Rekkai. There are numerous movies and books I refuse to entertain because my head space would be a HOT mess; I would be filled with so much anger and animosity that I wouldn't be able function.
15:53 I was hypnotized when I ws 11. It was done therapeutically. I had been raped and sexually interfered with as a toddler and survived it.. but that always brings a specific trauma and inability to access the individual who's been raped. The age is key.. for this therapeutic application. As a child, I didn't have the words to say what happened to me, or the trust. Not the words, or the trust, but I had all the behaviors. Got my period at 9 yrs old.. a very young age for a first period is how we can know that a female has been trifled with. These are the behaviors that expose the trauma. So, at 11, my parents had me hypnotized in order to tell my story, which I did. It was something I'd always lived with, but now they knew.. too. I've never been hypnotized since.. but it DOES help the children.. if done by a responsible party that knows how to not only hypnotize but restore to reality, the individual.
After watching the movie a few times I think they pick black people who don’t drive cause lakeith character was walking at dark and then the main character mom died in a car wreck and he seems to not prefer to drive so that’s another element to why he was less proactive to leave maybe it would have seen dramatic to call a cab to leave?
I just started this new series called From it used to be on Amazon prime but now you have to get a MGM subscription to watch it but it’s a really great show and when I was watching it Syntell you came to mind and it would just be really great to watch you react to the show. Great reaction it’s always a pleasure to watch your videos 😊
I've watched every episode and "From" is a great horror series! Just for me I don't see "Get Out" as a horror movie it is more of a psychological thriller! If you ever watched something like Cape Fear that would be a good example!
@@dreambrother82 yeah, I heard that too. And I wonder would racist parents be just a little more upset if it happens to be a very dark-skinnes black person?
This film had so many hidden gems right off the back. The deer they hit at the beginning basically to me simbolized a warning go back dont go. I think it was the spirit of his mom. Thats why he was so puzzled.
Jordan constructed the film to be a completely different watch the second time. I noticed a lot of things that I didn’t before; right off the bat, Rose’s naughty smirk at the pastry shop now looks completely sinister - this was done deliberately. The second viewing of the film cemented it as one of my favorite films. Not to mention the nods to Ira Levin and those film adaptations. And it’s also a postmodern B movie. I just regret not seeing it in a packed theater 🎭
Not so fun fact (depending how you view it..) There’s an alternate ending where Chris is found by the cops instead of his friend and is still behind bars after 6 months after the murders. There’s great dialogue between Chris and Rod that’s powerful and symbolic about the internal struggle black men suffer of escaping their demons to only end up locked up behind bars or dead.. Jordan peele wanted to use that ending but chose to give the audience a less somber ending to finally exhale from the suspense of the movie.
As an older Indigenous American…I’m with you I’d be out of there yesterday. The comedic friend was spot on about these CREEPY folks. I tell my young family members wherever you go especially at NIGHT….stay together and my nieces and cousins are mixed. I want to know the destination and phone 📱 numbers. My cousin got married in a church where a PASTOR told him to stay away from the NATIVES…not knowing my AUNT was black and Native American….🤔😉 My cousin passes though but we still speak our TRIBAL LANGUAGE. This movie is so CREEPY. 🥹🎥

The problem with TV and movie hypnosis, is that it always gives the impression that you can make people do things they don't want to do, where in reality that isn't the case. The industry would be twice as big if it wasn't for public perception.
The mom been prepped him to be hypnotized without him knowing it , it happened when they all were on the deck talking and she tapped her cup 2 or 3 times......that auction scene was crazy when they all were holding bingo cards
This was the best post-reaction discussion I've heard for this movie, and I've listened to it more than once. This movie leaves a person with a lot of uncomfortable feelings and I needed to hear it talked out. Thank you, I love learning. Btw, Jordan Peele's movie Us was *NOT* good. I think my expectations were too high after seeing Get Out. When Us was over I actually rage cried over how bad it was. I was really with it up to a point, which only made it worse when the point came and I was pulled out of the story by its stupidity. It only left me with questions, mostly about how am I supposed to buy this.
I'm a white fella and ive met enough of my girlfriends white fathers in my time to know i dont want to to meet anymore. And this film has justified my reason. I now go for older white women who have no parents now. And I'm happy.

They filmed that ending, it's the alternate ending. Check it out for sure. I'm so glad they used this ending though, Rod showing up to save the day was fantastic.
I love Rekkai’s commentary after movie!! He hit that nail on the head…
*Erika Alexander. Pam was her name on The Cosby Show.
I’d definitely call this horror.
Eh I’d say more of a psychological thriller
Are you going to do _Us_ and _Nope_ too? Edit: They're mentioned! Good sign there.
"I mean... I told you..." 😂
9:48 the “ you don’t go to white parents house what she doing licking your balls or something” 💀 that killed me lol
Thanks!
The deer is supposed to represent him like the night he didn’t do nothing when his mom died
9:21 the doggies have ALLERGIES & ECZEMA too😂😂
My sister has to feed her Frenchie ORGANIC foods🙄🤦🏾♀️
Jordan Peele considered this a horror movie when he made it. And he is such a horror fan, that he has practically an encyclopedic knowledge of the genre.
I just love your laugh so much, Syntell lol. So infectious and delightful. Great reaction, guys!
yo the girls commentary constantly cutting in and out definitely added to the reaction, couldn't hear over half what they had to say but glad that was implemented
Your "cellular" phone. Didn't know how to plug it back in.
Since you mentioned "hypnosis", there's a movie called 'Stir Of Echoes' from 1999 starring Kevin Bacon that uses hypnosis as a trigger for the film's plot. It's pretty good and I'd recommend it for anytime actually but especially for the month of October.
@@AdamtheGrey02 oh this would be great! That movie is so good
Every conversation he had with someone foreshadowed how he overcame them. They have insane rewatch value bc of all of the Easter eggs and there’s plenty of things you won’t realize until a second watch, AT LEAST, so you can have that foresight going into it
Keanu is a Peter Atencio film. It was co-written by Jordan Peele and stars both he and KMK. Get Out is Jordan Peele’s directorial debut.
1:15:00 I’d also like to add to that by pointing out that if you were a prisoner of war, your children and their children and so on weren’t forced to be slaves for centuries afterwards.
I LOOOOVE THIS CHANNEL!!!!! Y'all never miss with your reactions. Sincere and genuine reactions everytime!
The whole point of reactions is to see the reactor's faces as they experience it.
“Better that than be took.” That’s why our ancestors jumped off them boats to drown. Peele is a mastermind!
Hated deer. Killed by antlers. Edit: This also carries through the theme Syntell was discussing about Chris's mother and the deer.
Yes, and the deer was also a buck, which I've come to learn from Peele's GET OUT commentary is a racist pejorative for black men.
Daniel's skin looks amazing!
Jordan Peele didn't direct _Keanu;_ he was writer and producer.
I dunno what Rekkai is doing but it's so irritating that he doesn't watch and pay attention because he misses SO much.
To be fair, he doesn't seem to miss anything
@@VonPatzyshouldn't watch a horror movie if you that scary. Ya know? 😂😂
To be fair.... I didn't miss a single thing... The position of my camera that I had to use and my screen throws it off and makes it look like I am preoccupied.... and I DO NOT do horror movies.... but I got through this....
Naw fr though, she do got the “Where’s Waldo?” Fit on 😭😭.
ABSOLUTELY the grounds keeper is in fact from Tacoma FD I love that show it’s one of my comfort shows Awesome reaction too btw yall are HILARIOUS 😂❤
That detail took me awhile to get and see once I read comments about it
The slow dude chopping wood is my favorite character in the movie. He was funny as hell 🥴🤣
Thank you for sharing!
Lmfaoo ok I love when you two react together ty for reacting to this one I also watch this one to kick out of my spooky season !
After watching the movie a few times I think they pick black people who don’t drive cause lakeith character was walking at dark and then the main character mom died in a car wreck and he seems to not prefer to drive so that’s another element to why he was less proactive to leave maybe it would have seen dramatic to call a cab to leave?
I actually prefer it when Syntell does reactions by himself. 🤷♀️
From is great. Endless suffering for the win 😅
Highly offended on behalf of The Addams Family lol 😂
“a real black person” i assume she meant a dark skinned brother, but the phrasing was off to me.
@@dreambrother82 yeah, I heard that too. And I wonder would racist parents be just a little more upset if it happens to be a very dark-skinnes black person?
Yeah...🤔
calling georgina Hawaiian silky the whole movie is insaneee😂😂
i love how they both have similar reactions , like they both turn their head to the side at the same time etc 😭😭
Ohhhh! I bet others have caught this, but their last name, Armitage! That HAS to be a reference to La Amistad, a slave ship! Has to be!
There are no rules when you are fighting for your life… exactly what my mama taught me
Dude gotta get off his phone!
P.S. Do you think the deer is the spirit of the dead mother warning him?
I think it's his warning to not freeze this time around
Another word for deer is a buck that also was a racist term in the old times.
This film had so many hidden gems right off the back. The deer they hit at the beginning basically to me simbolized a warning go back dont go. I think it was the spirit of his mom. Thats why he was so puzzled.
They all drive black cars just like they want to drive black bodies.
Thanks for covering this!!! I reference this movie WEEKLY
Really, I thought we all were using " a sunken place " 😮. How is this their first time watching??🤷♀️🤷♀️
The symbolism is that she is separating the colored cereal from the white milk. Nobody normal eats their cereal like that 😂
Some do.
Not so fun fact (depending how you view it..)
There’s an alternate ending where Chris is found by the cops instead of his friend and is still behind bars after 6 months after the murders.
We black people are funny 31:02 how they all saying “oo no” to the hand shake hilarious. Shout out Daniel doing London proud

I've been following your Doctor Who reactions ✋🏽.
i hope they watch us and nope as well, i'd consider it part of an unofficial trilogy
The deer is Jordan Peele 😂
Why the other guy constantly looking at his crotch while reacting?
Right?? My man was missing half the movie
yeah, it's really distracting.
Love this movie. Thank you!
