i knew the self hate was real when NEITHER one was really gentle or considerate of the other body when it was unconscious for 7 days. they don’t even give each other a blanket or a pillow it was so sad 😭😭
As someone who is very sensitive to sounds, this whole film was an absolute nightmare for me. I felt sick to my stomach the whole way through. However, I think it is absolutely GENIUS in its storytelling. The message is clear and unequivocal and I wish Hollywood would consider horror films for Academy Awards because the director absolutely deserves one for this.
I saw this three times in the theatre. It’s even better the second time. It was thrilling to see something so unhinged and unafraid to go as extreme as possible…
30:38 I literally asked myself this question after rewatching the movie a second time! I think Elisabeth is the prime example of a celebrity that let fame get in their head at a young age, to the point where they lost all the meaningful connections they had with the people that were closest to them before they became famous! It really puts a lot more depth on why she is the way she is, and is always seeking and craving admiration from her fans because that's all she has left in her life! She has no friends and family who'll love her for who she is, because she pushed them all away! As far as they're considered, the people who know the REAL her know her as a narcissist who only cares about herself! Her beauty and fame plays a big part in gaining that attention and love from people, which is why she's so desperate for it because it's the closest thing she has to receive human affection.
This reaction was hilarious! You guys gained a new sub! Now for the film, it’s one of my favorite releases this year. Pure insanity and beautifully shot! I was cracking up at you saying she looked like something out of resident evil and Lisa Trevor came to my mind instantly. 😂
Demi didn't trade her spouse for a younger model. She didn't meet Ashton until three years after she broke up with Bruce. She also dealt with feeling insecure about her age while with Ashton (he would chase younger women). I don't see any hypocrisy on Demi's part.
I think most do if you're in the building due to the amount of concrete cell signal can easily drop whereas pagers run off a low band signal which passes through buildings easier.
I viewed it as they are one entity but still have their own individual consciousness & free will. How many of us have done things we know are going to cause problems in our 50's just cause we're in the moment? I'd say everyone of us has.
The last 30 minutes is what makes the whole movie make sense. It’s the inevitable end of Elisabeth’s behavior driven by need for an audience. Elisasue put the blood on the hands of audience literally.
damn shed rather live off another body by watching not even a body swap and slowly eat away inside than appreciate and enjoy, Reminds me a bit of the internet 😯 maybe theres another metaphor im missing
A lot of people reading this movie as a drug/plastic surgery metaphor and the another body thing really shows how limiting that read is. Not to mention how the Substance customer service sounds like an internet customer complaint. Whatever the question, the answer is pointing back to them not being technically responsible.
@@Kevin.Costner. there's alot to the movie. The biggest aspects that stuck out to me was obviously insane beauty standards and hurting your body in the long run trying to achieve short term pleasure, mother/daughter relationships (more subtle but Elizabeth litterally "gives birth" to Sue, Sue makes up the lie about having to take care of her mother every other week, the way Sue steals resources from Elizabeth, ect), I've even seen that this is about bipolar (the mania being Sue vs the depression that is Elizabeth)
I don’t gratuitous is a fair word, the gore and excess has purpose. Also dudes, pay attention, the director writer is female and that is very significant
Getting ready? do you know what you're getting ready for? It's the last days. Didn't they tell you? Dogs rule the world. And only dogs will be here. Have a good night.
I still don't get how they were both fully-thinking people later, when the two versions of her were fighting to the death. The whole thing with switching between bodies was she was moving her individual consciousness back and forth between them. They can't both simultaneously be conscious! This seems like lazy writing to me. They're disregarding the rules they've established, what little sense this story had. By the way, I just read the synopsis in the notes of this video and I think they're probably describing a totally different movie.
5:10 well it doesn’t matter cuz women going to start objecting men and it’s going to flip the script. They already do. But on a bigger scale it will. To rectify this imbalance.
Jenna Ortega runs the established horror, while Kathryn Newton gives us Lisa Frankenstein, Abigal, the Substance. Top two horror princesses battling for #1 spot!
I’m so happy this movie exists. This was a blast to see on the theaters.

Haha you would have died watching it in the theater, close to the front where i was 😂
Insert 503th comment on how Harvey eating the shrimp is the most horrifying scene in this already wild body horror movie😂

It's funny how you say that she looks like Quasimodo because Demi Moore was in the Disney Hunchback of Notre Dame film as Esmerelda.

Men will always blame women for everything
Some doctors still use pagers, especially overseas

hahahaha I'm so glad I'm not the only one who thought of Gremlins
I love how they automatically assume that the director is male

I can also see that too. Too much of it can destroy. The internet can destroy us mentally.

My favorite movie so far in 2024. Creativity for plot, acting superb, awesome visuals
Finally, something to watch for Saturday movie night.

4:25 Uh, he's kind of peeing on the audience in this scene. :D
Love your reactions!!
the director is a woman
6:32 I think it was The Seventh Sign.
Yall are so wrong for playing the dozens on Elisabeth! lol

Sure buddy
Top 10???? Really???? 😆😆🤣🤣 This was just slightly above the toilet scene in The Triangle of Sadness in terms of watchability.
