Thank you for these vocal exercises. I fell back on my vocal workout schedules and my vocals went to hell. Started two weeks ago and I've been consistent. Great improvement.
+CEG GHD this one is just a warm up, so you should do this one before performing or sing in general. Some of my other exercises are vocal workouts which can help you improve on various areas
Hello, can someone help me? I started singing and composing music early this year, and discovered I have a pretty good vocal range ( From D3 to C6 ). When I sing the notes alone, it sound fine, but when I sing songs, when I move from note to note sometimes, one of them sounds flat. At the end of my singing, my high notes sound airy, and my lows hurt. I can barely get my breath out, and it feels like i'm holding something in. Does anyone know how to fix this?
+I love anime For the pitch one, I think you just need to work on pitch precision (if that's what it's called). Something my teacher does is singing a song (usually Yesterday by the Beatles) with very staccato notes. I think it just has to do with practice. Sometimes repeating the intervals works as well (for example if you have a C to an A, repeating that jump over and over can help, and it will improve your muscle memory for that interval). About your high notes sounding airy at the end of your singing, it might be your voice tiring. If it hurts, don't sing it. Your voice is a muscle. I strained my voice pretty badly a while back and was told to treat it like an athlete would treat a sprained ankle. If something sounds wrong, don't go for the extreme notes. Work on engaging your diaphragm when you sing and breath support. Before you sing, try taking extended breaths and practicing some breathing exercises. Relax your body as well. Remember to drink lots of water! If you drink decaf tea, try lacing it with honey. I hope you'll be able to find a solution and good luck with your composing! :)
You can always extend your range. Some professional singers are known for having a 4-5 octave range. Mezzo Soprano may be your natural range but you can always work on it.
Try to focus on not letting out to much air to fast. To help put your index fingers on both your cheeks and push your cheek skins slightly towards your lips while pushing up as well. This should make your lips squished together and easier to roll with.
Hey jacob. Your channel is great and i love it but today when i was doing your excersises i though it woudl be great to have a virtual piano or just the notes (currenly played) on the screen so i coudl know where i am. I mean i can check it anyway but it is just an idea. Anyway Thanks for a great job and take care.
No, it's definitely not. Falsetto is a special type of co-ordination and isn't included in the full register from chest to head voice. Mix is mixing chest and head voice into a blended sound using each respective voicing's characteristic muscle co-ordination simultaneously in a sort of balance to prodouce a deeply resonating, yet higher pitched sound.
my throat starts to hurt after I get into the high section of each exercise, like it starts to feel scratchy in there. Why do you think that is? also, should I stop after I feel that?
Take deeper breaths into your tummy, get the support from there. Also I always have a glass of water by my side when warming up, so everytime my voice gets raspy or it seems like I might not hit the notes, take 2 big sips!
Thanks very much for these nice & useful instructions. As I can see in your channel, there are a lot of videos covering different topics like vocal warm up, falsetto, resonance, etc. However, for the most benefit, can u suggest a sequence of practicing these, or should I practice whatever i feel up to? Thanks.
it kind of depends on where your voice are at..for example if you feel like you need to control the dynamics of your voice better, then do the dynamics exercise. So you should try to see what you are lacking and then use the exercises to get better, or maybe just to make sure that you are still in training.

Sounds like you need to work on your diaphragm strength and learn about vowel resonance?
Great channel! I'm a transgender person and my speech pathologist recommended me these videos to work
Im glad my videos can help you 🙂
good luck on your journey :)
Good luck🍀❤️
.. why? What will this help you with? Simply curious.
Nivedita Katiyar the disrespect...
Man, God bless you for this.
How can I sing high notes with more power and make it more of a chest dominant mix?
breath from the abdomen when you breath your stomach should inflate and not your chest
@The most beautiful angel Was the devil thank you😳💕
If I'm mezzo soprano can I be soprano? Wondering
You can always extend your range. Some professional singers are known for having a 4-5 octave range. Mezzo Soprano may be your natural range but you can always work on it.
Kevin Tempel Actually I don't know my vocal type, just asking and thank you for answering. I hope someday I found my vocal type lol
no but you can build your range to be like a soprano but the high notes might not be as easy
2 minutes into the video. Saliva all over my screen
I struggle with the lip rolling
Try to focus on not letting out to much air to fast.
To help put your index fingers on both your cheeks and push your cheek skins slightly towards your lips while pushing up as well.
This should make your lips squished together and easier to roll with.
Kevin Tempel thank you, I'll try that:)
Hey jacob. Your channel is great and i love it but today when i was doing your excersises i though it woudl be great to have a virtual piano or just the notes (currenly played) on the screen so i coudl know where i am. I mean i can check it anyway but it is just an idea. Anyway Thanks for a great job and take care.
I use ap tuner when i sing it is good enough
At first, I couldn’t lip roll to save a life, today I can do it without stopping. Definitely works!
This is a fantastic warm-up, but can someone please confirm the purpose of Excerise 3 (ya). Thanks.
Shaun C it's a good exercise to warm up your lower notes also it helps you hit lower notes with an open throat.
this video so helpfull, i love it
im glad you like it :)
I usually go to falsetto instead of head voice, how should i find my head voice, i prActised your head voice also
No, it's definitely not.
Why do you think that is? also, should I stop after I feel that?
its okay switching to falsetto when it starts getting uncomfortable.. it shouldn't hurt by any means! if it does, then you are doing it wrong :)
Good to know. Great videos, thank you !
I'm in choir and can hit a high c
if your voice hurts at all, take a break.
Take deeper breaths into your tummy, get the support from there. Also I always have a glass of water by my side when warming up, so everytime my voice gets raspy or it seems like I might not hit the notes, take 2 big sips!
Am I the only that moves my hand to the beat when I do the uhs
when i do lip roll it tickles my nose lol
Best
your the best

Thank you ❤️
Jacobs Vocal Academy your welcome and omg ty for replying💕
Thanks very much for these nice & useful instructions. As I can see in your channel, there are a lot of videos covering different topics like vocal warm up, falsetto, resonance, etc. However, for the most benefit, can u suggest a sequence of practicing these, or should I practice whatever i feel up to? Thanks.
it kind of depends on where your voice are at..for example if you feel like you need to control the dynamics of your voice better, then do the dynamics exercise. So you should try to see what you are lacking and then use the exercises to get better, or maybe just to make sure that you are still in training.
so high omg 😂 but I love it 😍
do it an octave lower if you need to. i do because im a baritone and this clearly caters to tenors
After 3 months of doing this I can hit all the notes just fine, unlike when I started...
Even if ur baritone, I'd advise you to keep working at higher notes. I'm a baritone and I can nearly get up there. Just keep practicing!
im baritone, i do it fine
Just subscribed. Use it religiously
+Paul DeCoster Thank you my friend 🙂
Thank the developers who support their new work for a new job of a day or so long and I 💕😔💁🏻u
Really good warm up, would recommend!
I just found this and will try this anytime I can and let's see how far can I go. (I can't sing at all) thank you for the vid
Mangun Suba any update?
Need help to fix my vocal fry !!!!
I failed in a interview just because of my voice :((
Really? Sounds like you should probably go to a doctor if your voice is having such noticeable problems!
Every lip roll note I'm scratching my nose.
It's amazing 😄
Thank you Julia
Been using these warmups for quiet some time! Very helpful, thank you for uploading them. But I gotta say since these midroll ads are active I downloaded the warmups as an mp3 because it completely kills the vibe during an exercise. I‘d love to support your channel by watching the pre-video ads and maybe one at the end... maybe consider deactivating the mid roll ones? :)
This is so helpful!!!
Awesome! im glad you like it :)
Jacob, thank you very much and I like your videos &helps me a lot to sing in my choir group
I PLAY THESE WARM UPS WHILE MY GIRLFRIEND GETS READY FOR WORK &/or DATE NIGHT. THANK YOU FOR MAKING WAITING FOR HER TO GET READY MORE ENJOYABLE
