I had to stop vocal lessons 5 years ago due to finances. It was the happiest and most confident I’ve ever been. I sang on stage. I was ready to record music. Since then, I never stopped singing but I gave up the pursuit of perfecting my voice. This is the first time I am returning to a vocal warm up since then. Every time I would try again, I would be too overwhelmed with the feeling like it’s too late for me and my dream is dead. I mourned the person I once was. I felt like I wasted five years of my life and set myself back. But I am determined to try again because it’s my passion above everything. It’s never too late to get back into doing what you love

First, make sure you’re breathing correctly, from deep down where your diaphragm is (right under where your ribcage ends in the center). Second, make sure you’re not carrying any tension in your neck, face, shoulders or jaw. Third, you’re going to want to learn about how to raise your soft palate in the back of your mouth as well as finding resonance in your facial mask as opposed to your chest. It has to do with where you’re placing the notes, and the air in your technique if that makes any sense. (I’m not a vocal coach but I did have some instruction in the area.)
@@hiding229 thank u but when I said Kermit the frog its because if I try to be louder that is literally what I sound like and it feels like my tongue is too big for my mouth and my head voice is all in the back of my throat like its clogged. Also I always have my hand on my stomach so that when I inhale I'm expanding my diaphragm but when I exhale it doesn't feel like its coming from my diaphragm and if I try too hard to make it come from my diaphragm it sounds even more like Kermit the frog but if not its pretty but its so airy and barely makes a sound!!!
Don’t force the air out of your diaphragm, just let it release as you use it. And it sounds like you have some tension in your tongue, particularly toward the back. Try relaxing it as much as possible, even try singing with it hanging slightly out of your mouth for a bit to find the relaxation in it.

I don't know if this is the best thing but this is what I did between shows that ho on for a while. I would rest my voice mostly and not try to overdue with loud talking. Throat coat tea is a life saver. Put some honey in and it helps a lot. A nice full warm up beforehand is always nice. I would 30 minutes before I had to start to get ready and a little more before mic check. Endurance is key

God only knows for I can't imagine what my neighbours must be thinking 😂 it's just a matter of time until someone comes over to ask if I'm okay

Good luck : )
•So Basically• hey babe good luck
Did you get it?
Did u get the part
very helpful for my online classes
For me this is the best vocal warm up on UA-cam so far...
Maybe switch that so far to by far
I recommend to anyone here the breathing exercise. It really helps a lot and make the difference even to increase your other vocal exercises👍
You should make a complete exersise video for a regular routine
I've been thinking about that 🤔 might see if i can make one soon
You should! 😊 It would mean the world to aspiring singers!
@@icantaffordmydrycleaning1054 i already did
Okay! Thank you! I will look for it! ❤️😊🙏🏼
Sorry for asking, but what is the video called? 😖
My dog is staring at me as I do these, can’t tell if he’s enjoying them or not, but he’s not leaving so
Hey you never give up with excerise! Keep going
Been doing this for 5 days in row. Biggest takeaways are the high notes are easiest in the hum, it helps if you warm up your diaphragm first and you will get tongue tied in mommy made me mash my my m&ms at least once
Is that roomies eye
Yas I was your 100th like!!
Just started doing these warm ups! I am so excited to hopefully become a better singer!
You got this!
omg thankyou this literally perfect timing, i was just about to practice for the gig i have
You are welcome 😉
I’m doing this warmup in Hebden Bridge England tonight. Trades Club. Show starts at 8pm.
Me sing- AHAHAH arpeggio thinking I sound like an opera singer
My dad: Jesus are you okay?!
Me: yes, why??
Me: Gosh, do I really sound that bad?!
"Mommy made me mash my m & m's " is a classic😊
I red that as Eminem's 😑

Wear a mask for pollen and viruses, keep a humidifier/air purifier in the room you are in and keep the house clean, open the windows from time to time to keep fresh air in the house etc.
Sleep well
Just try to be the healthiest version of yourself,do research and use what works for you
You can also gargle salt water with a bit of vinegar
who else sang choir before COVID? better question: who elses voice went downhill during quarantine?
First question: yes, honors and normal. Second question: sort of, then it got better than ever 😌

I actually found my voice during quarantine 😶🌫️
Using this for practice for church I’m leading the children’s performance! But I want to become a better singer so I’m going to keep going past that!
Day 1✅
Day 2✅
Day 3 ✅
You got this!
I think I'm still infected with the new year's resolutions that go around at the start of the new year but I'm going to try to do this every day for the next 6 months and hope it makes a difference.
Day 1: Completed. I think I have stage fright even when it is just me.
Week 1 Completed. I sound way better now that I am not focusing on what I sound like. Progress, not perfection!
Week 2 Completed: It's wild to me how different I am sounding. I might record myself to track progress. I'm starting to reach the higher notes without straining my voice.
Did you keep doing this?
@@TheRealGgsahagun hey! I am. I just updated the last two weeks! I recommend doing this!
Are you still keeping at it?
did you stop
Hope you’re doing well!

I can’t do the lip rolls because my nose itches so much
work n that then.
hold your finger to the tip of your nose- that typically helps with the itching
@@parthsguitarcovers5976How helpful.
these videos have been getting me through my college auditions so thank you Jacob!
my head voice feels. like there's more power that needs to come out but i just crack or sound like kermit the frog help
@Jacob White thank u for the advice
@Jacob White aww thank u if u saw any of my utube videos and thats what ur referencing they were a long time ago and I've improved some what on my insta music account @olanimusic but thank u so much for the compliment

did you get the part?
@@riverprzygoda2631 I did! Thanks for asking! We open in June 2022, we have a lot of work to do!
If your voice is worn out from a gig on the night before and you have another gig tonight do you guys recommend a longer warm up or shorter warm up? Thanks in advance.
At the 6th exercise my cats goes out of the room.
