Head voice is the leg day of singing
My voice just cracks when I up to high. I can’t even to the scale in “bun”. Help please my head voice/mixed needs it!
This has almost been 2 months I have been doing this excerise, my range has increased from B5 to Eb6 and I have gained quality tone, agility and control in my head voice.....Thanks Jacob Academy 🙏🙏
@@IsaiahAlexVoice I really want to know what videos of his did you use cause im gonna preform next year🙏😩Plsssss tell me😭
My mom literally came into my room and told me to be quiet lollll
@@annikalama284 they can't laugh about the same thing forever so just keep going. They won't be laughing in a few months when your voice gets strong and solid. Hard work and sacrifices always pay off. Even my vocal coach laughed at one point now he thinks my singing is impressive and sent me to sing for a crowd in one of his events
@@BillStreetStudios thank you :) btw my mom only laughs about the exercises not my singing but still tysm
Im just doing lip roll but when i see this comment i sunddenly burts into laughter...
My cat looks at me like im a weirdo doing this
same, my cat even climb on the table sat in front of my face and stared lol!
haha my cat litterally attacked me while I was singing these high notes😂
Itching my nose while going lip rolls😂😂
ARMYs are everywhere but yeah I never got the itch oml I should aim for that
The itching is good but can be a bit annoying and a distraction for me at times.....I find that taking bigger breaths at the start helps with alleviating my itching and tingling sensations I get a lot while doing lip trills.
Pro tip: if you're family is home. Cover your mouth with pillow. It will decrease the noise but you will still train your voice
This is so helpful. I live with five other people who all do not want to hear me singing at ten oclock at night lol
Lmao Idc if my family is home, i still do all my vocals out loud I'm the youngest of 5, so it's my job to annoy all of them 🤣🤣🤣
I love you, you are so generous for helping hundreds of thousands of people for free!
Wabi Sabi yes, understand that and I respect that! (I am replying to the main comment, she/he is saying that is helping thousand of people for free, which is not correct since Jacob is getting money from the ads, at the end, those ads are wasting my time, so this is not free, I am paying while I spent my time watching some ads.)
Which is good! It is a good way to support the channel!
I was just giving out my point of view. I hope you understand.
I lost my head voice completely after a cold and this is making me recover very quickly!
I did when I was little and it was right before a choir performance. I haven’t got it back since
@@aliciaoconnor9369 i feel you
I remember when I used to scream up to an F6 lol
if I keep this up, there'll be no neighbors left in my neighborhood
There are literally no comments left to read. Post some stories guys
When I was in high school my singing teacher was very supportive of another in the class who was singing like kermit the frog. It worried me because she was supportive of me and I suspected I sounded bad. We sang a performance, I saw a lady wiping tears afterward, wasn’t sure what to make of it. Maybe we could have been inspiring or something... Hahaha, my cousin heard us sing from a different room and asked my sister, What is that sound?! Sister questioned back the frog? Cousin replied no, I know that one, who is the dying giraffe? My sister waited until the end of the year to tell me that was what I really sounded like. So cruel...teachers and classmates encouraging me all year. I had no clue-so harsh, but so funny. Ive been working on that fixing that lol.
i once went home and i began sleeping and the suddenly i woke up, unexpected right ?
I used to have a very strong head voice when i focused more on my head voice more and disregarded my chest voice in the past, but then i started to focus on my chest voice, then suddenly my head voice got weak.
Now im here working on them both hoping to learn how to sing in mix voice someday sooner.
The same thing has been happening to me! I noticed my voice getting deeper, so I trained my head voice. Now the second wave of voice change hit and I have to train all over again. I don't think I'm ready to try mixing yet. Anyways good luck 👍🏽
I practiced head voice for a week.. now my head voice is powerful and fat, now I'm able to mix easily. So technically it means that your head voice should be fat enough to mix with higher chest voice(This is advised by many vocal coach and also worked for me having weak chest voice)
Yogesh Dayalan I thought my head voice would always be weak and my chest voice would always be strong but from this comment I have hope. Thank you I’ll try this out !
@@mundo9680 my head voice is still weak but more clear and projecting now.. the yodal or cracking is also not there..
thats my question...how do u get better at all the exercises because you cant do them all everyday but if you dont then you'll lose the training you had ...im so confused..
Disclaimer: don’t use earbuds. Judgement will arrive from about 2-3 business days from your neighbors
Mine neighbour tried to taunt me by saying you sing a lot huh
I said yea its start so its a bit quiet it'll get louder in few days
@@DallasHopely yea like they can do whatever and make so much noise all day but we can't gotta be sarcastic wid them tho😂
My neighbors love it when I practice, coz they get to hear the piano as well.
The boops were hard to follow. It would be nice to have someone do a few of them before it’s just piano.
I'm actually a soprano.....but I always have voice cracks when I go higher.............and this is actually really fun to do and it's helping me a lot in improving my head voice. By the way...... this is actually my first day and I can already see a lot of improvement in my voice within a few minutes....which is AWESOME. THIS IS WHAT I'VE BEEN LOOKING FOR. THANK YOU SOOO MUCH.
idk who needs to hear this, yes this exercise is for everyone
Helpful tip: try and stay in one volume level. Don’t start singing really soft then get louder as it gets higher. Ex. If your working more on head use head voice through out the exercise, don’t switch to chest. Hope this helps 💅✨👁️🫦👁️
For head voice , I’m one whole octave behind but I’ve noticed (after 4 days ) that I can go a 2-3 more scales. What I’m trying to say is don’t stop , if your neighbors can tolerate this then so can you!
If the itching in the nose while lip rolling bothers anyone as much as it does me, put a finger on the nose while doing lip rolls. It stops the transmitted vibrations thereby eliminating the itching. Happy practising😁
Literally never experienced that until today so I really appreciate seeing your comment😂
Hey guys don’t give up! These exercises really work! I started from 0 last June and now I released my first song thanks to this very channel!! There might be tough days but you gotta keep swimming. Good luck everyone❤️
Honestly just keep doing this. Practice makes perfect. Takes one week and you will notice the effects
@@emilianpopa1402wrong practice makes perfect practice but will be a little slow 😊
@@_____8106at least six months you can see results but still not enough
I’m an alto trying to extend my head voice thanks for this helpful
@@immapotato2510 Alto Doesn't exist as a Voice type Contralto is the right word to say. That word "Alto" is a choral group ."
your videos definitley improved my lip rolls. That gives me hope for the other exercises. One day I even might hit a note
Good luck everyone!!! You got this and you’re singing great♥️
I don't know who needs to know this but vocal cool downs are important.
They help ease tension and calm the musucles in your throat. So if you're trying to do anything with your voice i just reccomend a 5 min vocal cool down afterwards.
I remember when i was doing this excersise for the first time 5ish months ago and my voice was dying since I never was able to hit high notes. I retried this and a vocal cool down helped so much, I didn't even feel tense at all the next day.Oh also never strain your voice, it should never hurt while singing, if it starts hurting dont start trying to go higher because it might damage your vocal cords.
How long was your vocal cool-down before you started singing the high notes again?
Thank you so much. My priority is to improve my head voice because I don’t like mine. 👍
Jacobs Vocal Academy what is the highest note these exercises reach? And will these help you increase your range?
@@ellismason5962 yes it will increase ur range, i did this for a week everyday twice a day and i saw better results.
@@EclipseHimself My range still is not too high. However, I saw a massive improvement in the power, sound, and strength of my upper range.
Thank you so much for all the free lesson’s you upload here on UA-cam! It has helped me a lot! I’m very grateful with you, peace from Bali
This is so helpful. My head voice is not the strongest, but these exercises have helped me improve a lot, which has subsequently improved my singing by a lot. I've even gained the confidence to post my singing on my UA-cam channel 😅🎉
I used to have control over my head voice but then reflux laryngitis happened. These exercises are helping me recover from the injury, thank you!
I love all your exercises great help, thanks.
Thank you for the daily practice video!
Amazing exercises for head voice .... Helped a lot ❤️❤️
Practicing this to also trengthen my mixed voice. Having a lot of trouble with that
Ya I heard you have to have a really strong head voice to accomplish mixed voice
I'm doing different videos from this channel since two months nearly daily and making crazy progress. Thank you!
Could you make a video about singing higher (like C5) without cracks etc in puberty? (For Males)
@Jack Staburgerlor Practice is the bets option, *don't over do it* because you might strain your voice
@Jack Staburgerlor Keep practicing and your voice will naturally get higher
That moment when your voice cracks and you just wanna jump out of the window✨
Thank you so much! After years and years my head voice is finally developing!
That’s awesome! These exercises really work, don’t they? I was quite skeptic at the beginning, not gonna lie haha but now I’ve released my first song so! :)
Greetings Sir Jacob, just to kindly request a vocal warm-up exercise for voice clarity. Can you please make one?😊
Could you make a video how to do whistle register? Hehe im a new subscriber btw and i saw your vids about whistle register excercise and iv been listening to it and i dont know what to do haha.
Muchas gracias, excelentes ejercicios sí señor, gran maestro
I sound like a dying cat.
It doesn't matter how you sound doing the warm ups, it's just to warm up your so you don't sound bad while actually singing
That's a mood 😂😂😂 I feel that though
Some of the best advice my music teacher told me is that music isn't always supposed to sound pretty, so don't be afraid to sound like a dying cat, that's how you improve. The fact that you're practicing is awesome, go you!
My 60 days journey Starts here
Day 1 : Completed [mediocre]
Day 2 : Completed
Day 3 : Completed
Day 4 : Completed
I am skipping a lot these days(multiple exercises of 2 hours. hard to do all in a single day [breathing,head,fry,range,32total,warmup,cooldown] ). so im gonna just count my completed days.
Day 5 : Completed
I can currently sing in 3.5 octaves and this is helping a lot
Whenever I could try singing head tones , I could sound breathy and kinda polynic but now but this workout helps after it
As second soprano in highschool this was very challenging but helped a ton!!
this is working for me awesome .. persist. its a joy now
Me saying : no no no no no no
My mom bangs my door
Me saying : *oh no oh no oh no no no no*
Thank you for doing this for free
Thanks!
Day 1: it doesn’t hurt too bad but I’m hoping working on these will strengthen my chest and head voice then lead to my mixed voice
Day 2: successful 🎶 slowly getting better. i’ve been practicing singing prior to coming
Day 3: practicing more
Day 4: still straining on some notes but that’s just my vocal chords stretching
Day 5: had to wait for a little bit due to covid didn’t want to damage my vocal chords but so far so great head voice is starting to be a little more profound
i have a more adele sort of voice and struggle to reach some of these notes so do you have any tips on reaching those higher notes?
I don’t know if you’ve heard of “the mask” but it’s the space behind your nose that helps higher notes resonate. If you’re struggling with higher notes, exercises like the no one here, or another one that uses a “nyeh” sound (like the ñ if you’re familiar with spanish) will help you find that space, and when you sing using that space, higher notes are easier to reach and manipulate. Another tip would be when you sing, make sure you open the back of your throat and elongate it (like up and down). A way to simulate that is with yawning, and when you do, you’ll feel the muscles there and how they move. All that being said, if your vocal type is more of a richer contralto, then you could also look into vocal extension exercises to help extend your range. I hope this helps :)
When I get into the higher notes, I too struggle. What I do is take my hand and put one finger on each jaw joint, and that helps.
open your mouth really long, and tilt your head down really slightly to open your airways and lift your soft palette.
You are an alto, ik bc I have the same problem, the low notes are easier than the high ones but if you want to sing the high ones put more support in your voice and make sure ur mouth is very open but up and down wide, it's harder when your lips practically touch your ears. Try to sing with your mouth in an o shape and stay on a neutral syllable like ooo to expand your range
guys this really work, keep going hard man, you'll get it one day

here’s a story:
I have a friend who I’ve known since I was very little. One day, when he was six, I was at his house when he got this absolutely god-awful stomach pain. I mean, he was literally writhing in pain. So, his mom took him to the doctor’s office, where the doctor took one look and told her to take him to the ER. She feared something along the lines of an intestinal rupture. About half way to the hospital, my friend suddenly let rip the loudest, most powerful fart any of us had ever heard. I swear to God he levitated. We thought the upholstery in the car seat had ripped. After a good 30 seconds of intense farting, he looked at his mom and said, “I feel all better now!”
I'm doing this during the 'no' part and that is exactly my reaction... 'no no no no no no no...'
can you do one of these long videos for dynamics as well? I would really appreciate that :)
Head voice is everything
Thanks for tutorial I am from Indonesia
What should I do if I know I can hit the notes but my voice just gives out?
Bort Kort sing the note before note that gives out until you you can sing it with out struggling it works fore me!
@@SingBetterIn3Days i have a delay from where i had a throat problem and was scared to use my head voice properly for about a year :( what does it mean though?
I kept doing these nd resonance exercise only for 2 days nd eventually my mix got developed so i guess having a very strong developed head voice is what necessary for mix coz you get use to the placement of head voice
Great exercise ❤

Practicing!
i’ve always had an extended range (i can hit tenor baritone and bass, idk which of the three i am as i’ve always been told i can hit all three) and i always wondered why i crack when i go high. and i then realised i sing solely from chest, so i’m gonna start doing these and hopefully learn to sing from mix and head sooner or later
