The way the trial was structured and the confusing jury instructions makes one wonder if Karen Read will ever get a fair trial. Well, I think KR is completely innocent. I suppose they could have thought that she accidentally hit him, did not realise and then drove off. However, I mean - well - if she hit him at 24 mph (in reverse - she is skilled!) there would have been a huge bang and the car panels would have been damaged. Ultimately, I suppose in the end, some jurors were tired and not thinking clearly and just ignored basic things. The timeline exonerates KR as well - but again, if you rethink things, confusion may result.

Not a very good legal analyst CBS Boston. She keeps referring to the 2nd charge as "involuntary manslaughter." The charge is actually "manslaughter while operating under the influence" which in Mass has a 5 year minimum sentence with a max of 20. It's drastically different from involuntary.

Witnesses in courthouse said that was not true, you could not hear the supporters, that the only time they were heard slightly was when they announced the case was dismissed due to hung jury. From the letter, in her own words, was watching UA-cam, that were commentators for convicting Karen Read.
The other Jurors weren’t asked if they could hear yelling and screaming while deliberating and why would this person lie when it could be easily verified by the others? What witnesses are you referring to? Were they in the jury deliberation room?? we should take it at face value that this person heard folks yelling. What’s interesting is that she did not confirm that they reached a unanimous verdict on the other charges.. she didn’t say anything about that. Either way, I definitely think they should bring the jury in and question them.

And lastly, Juror Doe did not specify who the protestors were that they claimed to have heard back in the deliberation room. It does not say they were “Free Karen Read protestors”, rather, it did not specify.

They were split on the alternative lesser charge of involuntary manslaughter of Count 2 -- a thing made specifically known by the last juror who came forward -- so I think that's why the verdict form wasn't filled. (Earlier jurors had said they had actually reached unanimous agreement on Counts 1 & 3.) The judge didn't ask if there were any counts that the jurors had agreed on after she got the foreman's final note. (To be fair, none of his notes stated they had reached unanimous agreement on some counts. Perhaps the jurors weren't sure if they could state that in the notes.) Judge just read the final note out aloud and almost immediately declared a mistrial. I think the jurors had expected that they would be asked, and that didn't happen.

Wasn’t it 4 jurors and the other one just spoke of safety issues. They also have not attended to any affidavits at all, so it is currently hearsay. It also contradicts the final jury note and the defense forcing on the mistrial and even doing a victory lap and victory speech afterwards.
A fifth juror came forward the same day the a juror submitted something to the judge to have the jurors names sealed. Alan Jackson submitted an affidavit the same day.

Wasn’t it 4 jurors and the other one just spoke of safety issues. They also have not attended to any affidavits at all, so it is currently hearsay. It also contradicts the final jury note and the defense forcing on the mistrial and even doing a victory lap and victory speech afterwards.
A fifth juror came forward the same day the a juror submitted something to the judge to have the jurors names sealed. Alan Jackson submitted an affidavit the same day.
@@JamieArcangel Yes but the 5th juror did not make any allegations as to the jury’s alleged verdicts as the other 4 alleged jurors had.

Your legal analyst is apparently not familiar with US Supreme Court precedent or MA law. The jurors cannot be questioned about their deliberations, and the US Supreme Court said even where the jury actually did agree at one time to acquit on one charge but then went back and deliberated further, there was no verdict becausecthey could have changed their minds. She is also wrong about the sentence for the second charge. Your so called expert is a joke

i would have thought the defence lawyers might have waived their costs..that trial has catapulted them into the spotlight and they will have clients now who would be willing to pay more for their services. not sure if they would get revenue for a series/film spinoff.
They will retry her and they will get a conviction - she will be found guilty and go to prison
