I just purchased the 46 (J3) that I took my very first ride in back in 1988. The gentleman has owned it since 1974. It’s been sitting outside and I’m bringing it home to do a full restoration just like you are going to do here. Looking forward to the videos!
I came late to the feast. God bless your Grandpa. I do hope the restoration is going well. I know you'll make him proud if circumstances allow. Have a good day.
Thank you so much! I finished the Cub in October of 2021. 😁 I lost my Grandaddy on Easter Sunday morning of 2019. Sadly he didn’t get to see it finished. Here’s the test flight video. My cousin test flew it for me because at that time I hadn’t flown it a few years. ua-cam.com/video/KGMBhz6E65I/v-deo.html
@@ColeAviation My condolences in the loss of your Grandaddy but I know he'll be smiling down on you from Heaven. Hearty congratulations on giving the Cub the TLC it deserved. It truly is a labour of dedication & love. Top man. Have a great weekend.
Awe thank you so much! Check out this video I made for him when he passed. Hope you have a blessed weekend as well. ua-cam.com/video/a_rLu0qjm4k/v-deo.html
@@ColeAviation I watched both of the supplementary videos. Beautifully done. 'Sailing' by Rod Stewart was our unofficial theme song when I served on the aircraft carrier HMS Ark Royal. There was plenty of "plane spotting" to be done from the ships "island" if off watch & the carrier was at "flying stations." No J3s though, although I'm sure there would have been enough flight deck for the landing roll in an emergency. I left a comment for your grandaddy on the appropriate video. May he be blessed. Thank you for sharing.
Lucky lucky on the cub. My brother and dad had Cubs so I have had flying time in them. Lucky where you live, great flying area. My room mate in university had a Luscolme, spent time flying in Michigan, and several trips to B.C.
viking skandinav - We have had this Cub for 51 years. I been restoring her for 2 years now. I’ve already spend about $40k on new EVERYTHING. The engine alone was $23k. Brand new zero time C-85.
