How does that work? You buy the tune from eqt then download it into the AP with the Cobb software?
This video probably put me over the fence to buy the EQT access port tune + DSG
Finally picking up my new to me 2012 GTI thanks for the great video ln a few months I'll know if I got a good deal. Going to take a few months to make sure the hardware/ software is right then proceed forward with stage one for my new daily. Wish me luck
Yes it backs it up, so when the tune screws your computer/car up, it can roll it back. Just like windows

@@jcity943 Yes, there is a flash counter. Once flash, say good bye to warranty (at least to issues pertaining to the engine and transmission).
Thanks for the video! Quick question as I am going to put the EQT Stage 1 ECU/TCU tune on my 2019 GLI with DSG. Does it save the OEM ECU and TCU file and if so what does it save the name as? My COBB AP also came with all those various flash files for stage 0, stage 1 and valet. Curious if the OEM files are saved during the first flash and what name they are saved under?
Hi, Sir I have a question regarding TCM. After you flashed DSG tune, do you have to drive for 20 mins then go for the process TCM? Can I do flash my DSG then do the TCM without driving.

I wonder if my DSG has been tuned. I just picked up a 2019 GTI and mine shows what gear I’m in like D3. My ECU isn’t tuned though since I was limited to 126mph. I wonder if there are other ways to tell?
If for no other reason, I want to get this tune now to display my current gear (even outside of manual mode). Well, I don't have the full digital dash (super jelly btw, it looks so fresh... but I do like the actual guages - lol I'm all over the place), any idea if it would display the gear on my peasant sized digital display?

I have a Golf Alltrack 2017 (the facelifted version) with the DQ381 DSG7 transmission, and I can always see what gear it is in my infotainment display? Exactly where you can see your gear now, even when I have another driving view..
My car is not tuned, but I have the TDI version of the Alltrack.. Why couldnt you see that before? I have digital cockpit as well and the Discover pro display in the middle.. Maybe that is a difference?
You have an Alltrack TDI? Those don’t exist in Canada or North America. Europe gets some things we have to unlock with tuning and coding.
@@netcruzer Aha okey, I see. The TDI version here in Europe has 184hk and 380Nm in torque. The alltrack here in Europe also exist as TSI which has 184hk but with 280nm torque.
The Alltrack is pretty well equipped in the standard version and mine has some extra features, maybe that is why I can see which gear in my un-tuned Golf. 🙂

Thanks for sharing the details. What are the implications on the powertrain warranty? Can the tune be backed out such that a dealer will not be able to detect that the ECU was previously flashed?
You can tune back to stock before warranty or dealer service yes. But likely there is some counter like the ECU that shows how many times software changed if they look hard. Any flash tune for ECU or TCU means you could get flagged as a modified car ( known as TD1 ) that does not mean you lose all warranty. It means warranty might be denied.
Did you compare the sport and aggressive tunes?

Shift time seems slow for a double clutch
Well it’s not as fast as a Lamborghini or Porsche, honestly I think they artificially limit that to protect those performance brands. Not sure exact times but it’s slightly more responsive when requesting a gear now.
I'm going to buy my eqt accesport for my Vw GTI MK7 DSG my question is if I have to buy the dsg flashing tune or I can just go for the eqt accesport?
I’d you ordered Cobb AP with DSG unlock you are OK. Otherwise, You need to purchase the DSG flash ability for your Accessport serial number from Cobb or EQT.
So what exact set up do u have, there seems to be alot of different EQT tunes. U can start at $175 and add from there or $500 to $675 and add from there. Kinda confusing where to start.
So you have to pay $400 to unlock dsg tuning on the accessport. It's then $175 to get an eqt dsg tune but if you buy them at the same time it's 175 off

Do you now get dsg pops on upshifts? I have a 7 speed Gti and I really want dsg pops will a Cobb accessport help me achieve that?
If the car is stock, you should get the DSG pops. At least, my 6 speed DSG has always done them.
@@ARentz07 the 7 speeds don’t have dsg pops, at least as often, from my testing I only get them in 1 to 2 gear on heavy acceleration. It’s something to do with epa VW tuned it out.

@@devn3813 I googled that a bit, when the 7 speed was in development some thought it would be dry.. but really its a DQ381 wet clutch.
IF YOU DONT HAVE 3 PEDALS YOU DO NOT OWN A REAL CAR
SAVE THE MANUALS! LOL I had a Manual GTI, I went DSG with R because the manual clutch is not strong enough, also it's a lot slower than DSG. Double Clutch is the future, Manual is more engaging to drive.
@@netcruzer DSG is the way of the future for sure. Bonus - it allows me to shift faster than lightning, efficiently, and allows me to be lazy from time to time. Love the DSG.
And you can’t hold boost and FART with a Manual! ;)
Prior to my GTI I had a 2017 Camaro SS manual which was a ton of fun, but I am thoroughly enjoying my DSG. Living in a big city I find the DSG to be the perfect transmission.
