  • I did not know that you could simply toggle out of manual mode by pulling down on the shifter after having entered manual mode from the paddle shifters. Maybe you knew this, or maybe this video will be helpful for you.
    Get tuned with EQT: eqtuning.com
    I was chatting with Cliff at Equilibrium Tuning about some random DSG tune stuff, and we ended up in a conversation about DSG manual mode, and the best way to get out of it when you are looking to quickly get back into auto-shifting mode. That's when he hinted to me that he just toggles the gear selector. OMG! How did I not know this?!
    Well, now I do, and it seriously changes how I drive the car.
    I decided to go out and play around and make a quick video on the different ways to get in and out of manual mode on an MQB DSG car. I think I got them all, but let me know if I missed something. I am positive this works the same for MK7 and MK7.5 Golf GTI or R, and Audi A3, S3 cars... but not sure of the others. I assume it's the same for anything with a dual clutch transmission.

    Had my new Golf R 7.5 for a year and I learn something new today. Switching from Sport Mode to Manual gives instant acceleration boost. Thanks!

    thanks, was wondering how I got into S mode without toggling the sport mode button, turns out I just went down on the gear selector. Then I started messing around with the paddle shifters and entered manual mode thinking this would get be back into drive mode.
    Will use it again as car felt a lot more responsive and quicker then just hitting toggling sport mode whilst in gear 7 on highway...

    Silly question regarding chip tuning and Virtual Cockpit. In my Skoda one of the Virtual Cockpit views ("sport" view) shows current engine output - scaled in kW. I have a 110 kW 1.5 TSI engine so it maxes out at 110 kW. What will it show after stage 1 chip tuning? Will it also show range between 0-110 kW (based on - I don't know - how much the gas pedal is pressed) or will it somehow show recalculated value based on new ECU maps or maybe it will break and not show anything?

    If you are in manual mode does it upshift itself also without using peddle shifter or stay in that gear until you shift?

      Only upshifts itself if u get to redline

    For my Audi: 3:37 This "hold to get out of manual mode" does not work. 4:27 This "pull down to get out of manual mode" works.

    Hi, I have a DSG Golf 7.5R. When I’m driving fast in manual mode and I downshift from 3rd to 2nd gear a lot of times it’s like the car remains in neutral, you can hear and see that the rpm do not increase, for 1/2 seconds or until I press the gas pedal, it is so annoying.

    • @TheSlowestStart
      @TheSlowestStart 6 місяців тому +1

      you’re not meant to come off the pedal when downshifting or upshifting

      my Skoda VRS doesn't. It's a pull down from D to S and you have to push back up (MK2 Fabia)

    And if you own a dual clutch transmission of any sorts its definently worth watching some how to videos/ what not to do in a dual clutch transmission vehicle! ( 5 things not to do in a dual clutch transmission vehicle-youtube). It will save you alot of money and hardache in the long or even the short term. They are VERY different then your everyday torque converter automatic!! Drive it like a torque converter i stead of a clutch snd your transmission wont be happy lol

    • @EVERYTHINGcpo
      @EVERYTHINGcpo  2 роки тому +2

      Lol. The description of that video you just referenced contradicts your other comment!
      “Don’t put the transmission in neutral when you come to a stop. There’s no need to do this. You may think the clutch will be partially engaged and wearing out, but the system will be sure to disengage the clutch (while keeping first gear pre-selected). “

  • @dailydrivensedans4875
    @dailydrivensedans4875 2 роки тому +1

    Im sorry but i cringed for your clutch after seeing u toggle in and out of sport mode while at a stop..(sport mode leaves the clutch engaged so your burning up a very expensive part of your transmission://). If your running sport mode on the dsg and you come to a stop you should push the gear selecter into manual mode and it will disengage the clutch!!!

    • @dailydrivensedans4875

      Its kinda like if your in a traditional manual and your using the clutch and gas too hold your car instead of the brake😕

      @@EVERYTHINGcpo nosir you are incorrect...i am and was refferring to sport mode exclusively which does in fact leave the clutch engaged..all other modes including manual/paddles will disengage the clutch 100% at a stop-sport mode never will disengage you are 100% burning clutch, just ask VW. Why do u think theres zero clutch delay from a stop in sports mode but a solid half second pluss in normal drive. (I am just trying too point out something that can prevent premature wear on the most expensive part of these cars! And btw putting it in nuetral at a long stoplight is ideal as it will cut all power/strain from the clutch..increase fluid life etc...just ask VW😂
      I do wish you were correct though. I wish sports mode at 0mph didnt ride clutch but she does:/
      Ps. Never said put it in neutral. When in sports mode coming too a stop(not sporty driving) you should put it into regular drive or manual mode or neutral(if u want)
