Actually I think there’s a need for comparison, I like comparison it’s almost like a motivator. When you know there’s people who are succeeding and achieving more than you it keeps you on your toes. In summary comparison is good if you use it to your advantage.

Thank you Hamza. Couple years ago, I 'competed against myself' and my grades were in the toilet. This year, I started to compare my grades and work to the smart kids of my class. Now, 8 months later, I'm now second place in my class for mathematics and first place for English. I used to consider 75% a godsend. Now, my standards are 90%+ for each of my subjects. I reckon my high standards for myself and the people around me will help me go a long way in the future. So once again, thank you.

I have an interesting story, much like a journal I'll write it out, but doubt anyone will read.
I'm 27 years old, didn't feel like I became a man until I was 25, I was a late bloomer and didn't go through puberty until 15-16. I grew up as a 'theatre kid' which I'll be honest, it's still my passion. In high-school I started getting called out by 'chavs' because I didn't have a phone, I didn't dress in designer wear, I went to after school theatre classes. I'm from Scotland UK to clarify. Let me tell you something really funny, I got ridiculed for having abs. I was 16 years old in my final year of school and we had swimming class, I took good care of my body because my father was a bodybuilder. I ate right, I got plenty of water and I worked out daily with the ambition of becoming an actor. These guys were bullying me in class telling me my stomach was like Action Man, Ken from Barbie etc. This weirdly got to me and somehow, I got caught up with the wrong people and hung out with those who ridiculed me after I changed to favour them, these guys were getting the girls they were popular and they reeled me in. From the age of 16-21 I hanged out with this 'chav group' and when I hit 21 I remember thinking ''I was planning to go to an acting school at 22'' but here I am aged 21 sitting outside a shop with a bunch of very weak men who were going nowhere and just wanted to cause trouble. I broke it off with them and ended up with virtually no one, I literally just had me and my cousin who was 16. I became a hermit from 22-24 and started doing indoor calisthenics again, my father was happy to see me getting back into it, I was lost for 6 years. I worked out daily, I ate good and I made it my mission to do this. Aged 25 I started randomly travelling around Scotland, I didn't care where I was going, as-long as it was somewhere I knew nobody and could make it a mission to make a friend or 2. I started going to concerts, playing guitar again and meeting people. Met a girl 2 years ago and we started dating, she doesn't want to hold me back and wants me to pursue my dreams. I'm 27 years old and next year I start an acting school to finally pursue my dream. No social media other than UA-cam, no bad internet browsing, no bad eating, no speaking to those who want to bring you down.
I found this channel during the ''lockdown times' with the video ''The best workout WITHOUT a gym'' and I really appreciated this guy, I know people joke ''cult leader this and that'' I don't see him as that. I see it as that friend/older brother I never had, despite the fact I'm older than him. Age is more than just a number on paper, some people are wiser beyond their years much like this guy is. I was on a good path for the past 3 years, and honestly I put the final 2 years of it down to this guy, he kept me focused and kept me reminded on why you should pursue your goals, why you shouldn't compare yourself to others, why you should have good habits and be strong-minded. I think a lot of successful people in the next 5-10 years are going to either be publicly thanking or privately thanking Hamza.

hamza, I know you said in an older video that hearing thank you for helping us doesn’t mean much to you anymore but I want to say this
you have become like a father figure and mentor to me that was always absent in my life. I dropped out of college last year and am working landscaping full time. Im struggling with depression and loneliness. While I work i’m able to listen to music, ive put on your older unfiltered videos lately and found so much value. I’ve started meditating and taking my diet more seriously. i’m still struggling with the weak mindset of wanting to not push myself. david deida says know your edge, but then push forward with smaller steps. i’m doing that, eventually i’ll be able to understand finance and get myself out of the rat race. later today i’m going to start another youtube channel and start my own self improvement channel and share my experiences from self improvement this past year.
and man, thank you. im not where I want to be yet, but im getting there, discipline over motivation. im doing the hard work and that’s what’s truthfully keeping me from ending it all. You and God, im thankful. much love man, proud of seeing you live the dream

Great video Hamza, although I don't think after working hard and maintaining good habits in life every day and watching a little bit of Netflix for a little bit at the end of your day is that bad. 100% social media, p*rn etc is what we need to get rid of but there must be at least a bit of fun such as watching your favourite movies/shows because we're all human and enjoy having some sort of entertainment at the end of the day such as maybe watching it for 30 mins each day.

Hi Hamza, u really improved my life. When I was about 12 i had a loser life i was already ur average jeffrey barely any friends, jacking off, depressed, discord gfs, u name it but then i started my journey doing a couple push ups and some squats and stuff and it didnt work i was still addicted to the jeffrey life until i saw ur videos i thought and thought and then slowly started improving my life. I moved schools, i got to the gym and made friends with a lot of people. Then came a problem, after a year or so of that i noticed i wasnt making any progress so i found ur content again via a friend picked myself up, stopped talking with people who only wants me for money or popularity, started being more serious in the gym and i got myself a girlfriend the one that everyone wants but only i can get, she motivates me to be better and now im popular without being the rich kid and without going around with those losers who are popular for being assholed

We dont like people who are (or at least seem) more successful, because they remind us of all the time and potential that we waste. I believe that a man who has taken self improvement seriously will be very happy to see someone get better results than him because he knows he can draw inspiration to better himself.

I get the argument that you bring to the table , but I think if an individual is conscious about these effects of social media and look at the benefits of it , they would be way more happy. You can always take a look at the people on social media who you think are above you on social scale and use it as a motivational to level up in Life! Main key point is to “ Use Social Media , not let Social Media Use You “.
