Hi Hatoraid Cowboy thanks for the video I’ve got a neo and waiting for the app heard it’s $50 yearly or 5$-6 monthly. Got a question for you since you have the new player are you able to customize your your top banner of your cover for your movies like on the old app in to have a 4K UHD Dolby Vison as a banner and was curious if that’s feature is available on the new app?

Good video. The most glaring thing that stands out about this player is it being a rebranded Zappiti Neo.
Not faulting that, but for whatever the subscription for the new OS being offered soon to those of us being Zappiti owners will be, it still is going to be a fraction of what this new player costs. And it will as functional, fast, and pleasing as you and other reviewers find it on this player. It will upgrade Zappiti and Dune players immediately, and later Zidoo models. More over, we whom subcribe will be entitled to install an use the new app on all players we own.
I do think offering the GUI app on other players is a smart move.

That is scary! That is a re-branded Zappiti! From the remote, antena's, metal hard drive door & layout both front and back, they are EXACTLY the same!

I agee, a Zappiti Neo with a faster video app but UI still looks basic.
What I find terrible is that Zappiti DIDN'T bite the dust... They just closed the doors on responsiblity for their existing products and launched a new line.. Kind of like a person declairing bankrupcy, changing your name and trying to start a new life@@hatoraidcowboy
You’d have to be a mug to buy this given that they charged $2k plus for Zappiti players and shut down the company without even telling customers. New company, same cowboys.
Very good review. I invite you to explore the advanced options such as the special top movie covers located in the Edit Panel of R_video.
Great to see Movie poster art becoming snappier with faster load times, i do hope the new app & interface for the older Zappiti will also make it snappier with quicker load times, meaning hopefully its software related & not hardware. Fingers crossed 🤞 Offline mode will hopefully be improved significantly with new App update. Time will tell i guess. Cheers for the upload 👍 🍻

Good Video thanks. Does it still play the music to the folder, you didn't indicate that. Funny, the interface looks a lot like Ziddo interface. Hopefully that wont be an issue in the future.

Definitely interested in comparison with Zidoo software and info on installing the Player One UI software on a Z9X Pro. Read the UI sub will be 50/yr. Curious whether metadata and title art will also be downloaded on to Z9X pro hard drive, making it snappy like the Player One. Both have 32GB internal storage per online specs.
Under settings, what is available in "optical drive?" Can a ripping drive be connected directly?

Thank you and Yes! I was just using it with my Elite. It uses the exact same codes as the Zappiti Neo and the Zidoo players. I had to disconnect power to my Zidoo because it was sending the same codes.
Do you have problems with the movie tags in the player? My HDR movies labeled as SDR movies. How did you rename your files?

I have the zapitti and now the Zidoo, I noticed that the Zidoo sometimes fails to see my server info causing me to log back into the server and re scan.
I had the same issue before purchasing a NAS. Since, no more fails.

Hello, between R_VOLUTION PLAYER ONE and the zidoo z2600, which one is better? Which of the two has better sound and image?
Overall they are pretty much the same…I think the Zidoo is better overall and is snappier. Audio & video is about equal

How to rip 4K disks and store them directly on the internal (16 TB) hard disk? Can you use your blu ray player and connect it to the E-volition?
No. This would violate the same laws that got them in trouble with Zappiti.

Hello Mr. Cowboy. I have a Zappiti NAS. I just got a R_volution Playerone. My NAS has 8 12TB HDDs. Regarding the HDD slot on the Playerone, what size can I put in it? 12? 14???? Thank you for your time and consideration regarding my question.
The Player One supports up to 16TB hdd
My biggest concern is how it handles different versions of the same movie. Like LOTR extended vs theatrical, and in that case, multiple ISOs for disc 1 and disc 2. Zidoo has that covered well and gives you one poster, and you select which ISO you want with labels created in the file name. Hopefully this isn't going to just pop up duplicate posters with no way to know which is which. Have the answer?
It would be nice if it could just boot to the poster wall and eliminate the menu options that aren't relevant 95% of the time. Same complaint here for Zidoo.

@hatoraidcowboy Understandable. I saw it showed multiples of Gemini Man on yours, and Youthman's video also showed multiples. That concerns me as I've already ordered one of these and will hate that. Hopefully it's not as bad as it looks this early. A couple movies I have MKVs and also ISO, so it might just show two where Zidoo makes that very clean. Same if you have 4K and 1080 Bluray separate copies. It's rare, but sometimes there are reasons to have both.
@janthonywj Yea on Gemini one was an iso and one was mkv rip. I agree the Zidoo does a better job at grouping and giving you the option to select between the different rips. The player one may also have the option but idk. May have to dig around in the settings

"Looked outdated" this looks exactly the same except colors and icons used. Wow! what an update. The skins with Zappiti were additional purchases. I assume the same here. Interface looks slow. Zidoo is snappier and I have over 3000 titles with mine. And for all you Zappiti owners that paid the premium for the player now get the privilege of paying a subscription fee to continue using your product. Yea! Zappiti Neo owner here and I got the Zido with all this mess going on. The Zidoo is the better player.

Nice overview. I don’t own either the Zapitti or R_Volution but I am an interested fan of both (have been using Nvidia Shield happily for years). One thing I didn’t notice with the R_Volution that the Zapitti had is a frames-per-second indicator once the movie is selected. Perhaps that’s an option that needs to be selected on the R_Volution?

I own the Zappiti Neo and now a Zidoo. The Zidoo is the better player. This player is just a revised version of the Zappiti and the software we should have gotten in the first place. Bonus the Zidoo cost less.

20 TB hard drive is the max capacity.
For External? Dang. That’s more than the internal. If that’s true it’ll require power so it’ll be another power cable you’ll have to plug up.
internal 3.5'' SATA hard drives up to 16 TB (18 and 20 TB are supported only on Zappiti Explorer).

The software has been changed a bit... It looks a little basic, but I will bet that this will have a software update in the near future to make things look a little more tidy and modern.
As a Zappiti owner I wouldn't count on it.
IMO That is a big problem when you have products like Zidoo that are competing and charging 1/3rd the price. I was hoping this would be a superior product for the superior price. It has to offer something.

Just really need the UI to get a bit better on these for the price. Looks much snappier than Zappiti but still needs some software work. Just kinda wish all of these players would try just a BIT harder to look closer to the Kscape UI. Infuse on Apple TV gets the closest and it's what I use for current playback but no Dolby Vision or Atmos sucks for when my system gets a little better.
Yea I agree. But I’ll take functionality over UI. But I am glad to see they updated the UI over the Zappiti. Much better and much quicker

I have a Zapitti 4K HDR. The company goes bust, and then all of a sudden it would appear the same mob want you to subscribe to a service you once had! The new software's absolutely shite on a Zappiti as despite using the PC app to organise my library I find that I have to click on EVERY title to get the artwork. And this is only the main screen artwork. If you want the artwork that goes with the banner you have to click on every title, and then click again. Truly awful, and a total rip off. Think I'll stick with Zappiti Explorer to choose a film to watch.
Isn't this made by Zappiti? I'm out a thousand bucks because Zappiti closed it's doors but I have read that this new revolution player is made by the same Zappiti people. Can anybody confirm?

HELP HELP HELP!!!! U mentioned that u put a SATA drive in the drive bay on the player. I put my sata drive in the bay that has movies on it. I did exactly what u did on your video. I have my movies in a subfolder titled movies, but the name of my drive doesn’t pop up. The drive works, I connected it with a usb cable w a sabrient external drive tray. Any ideas. Would love some help w this. Thank you
