Looks very good to me! I always say if someone has something to say or feels like I should have purchased something else (unless they are saying it in good faith), maybe they need to give me the money to do it "their" way, until then MY MONEY, MY WAY. Interstellar is my favorite as well, so glad I finally got to see it in IMAX last month.
@Subacabra Id consider it. Even though those rear speakers aren't THAT far from the ceiling, they are close enough to the bed layer that they act like rear speakers playing height info. I think you'll get more surround out of 7ch Watch a few scenes from a movie you know well with how you have it set up now and then switch them to rear speakers and watch those same scenes and see what gives you the most realism
I built a theater in my low ceiling area also. Sometimes these builders put air conditioning ducts in places in the basement that aren’t ideal for having a 8-10 ft ceiling. Good news is you can work around that. I have 7.2 ft ceilings in my theater room. I placed my Atmos speakers on the ceiling and put acoustic treatment at first reflection points. Helped a lot. Low ceilings can cause echoing in your theater. Low placement of your Atmos speakers wreak havoc on your overhead effects. Try in ceilings or on ceiling. It will work wonders
@ you’re welcome. My Home Theater journey has been ongoing since the late 80’s. From 4 channel Dolby surround until this day. 13.4.6 is my system now. A lot of experiments successes and failures. Enjoy the ride. I have. Good luck to you.
Looking great! I don't see any issue with mounting the rear heights on those stands. Hum's can be really hard to get rid of, I ended up having to go all balanced to get rid of the hum in mine. I replaced the miniDSP 2x4Hd's with Flex balanced and my BasX single ended amplifiers with XPA. Making everything balanced got rid of the hum completely. With all single ended, sometimes I would get it down where it was barely noticeable and next thing I knew, it would be too loud again so I just gave up and went all balanced. My system is really complex however with multiple DSP's and multiple amplifiers so hopefully you can keep yours under control and not have it vary between acceptable and unacceptable the way mine was doing.
What a cool way to make the most out the space you have!! 🎉 however, there’s a pretty big “rule” with Atmos that involves channel separation between bed layers and night channels. Curious why you didn’t just mount the rear heights on the side wall up high same as in the fronts. There’s a really good UA-camr @hometheatergurus” that goes into great detail about how to properly place speakers. It has a bunch of episodes and even goes so far as to say “you can’t equalize improper placement”. 🎉 again, not criticizing! Just hoping to spread knowledge. Ps. I’d be thrilled to have your setup! Pps. Rather than an electrician, that oven must have a 30/50 amp circuit, which probably never runs while using HT gear, so perhaps a splitter and 10awg ext cable or a quick connect from the oven could solve your power problem. 🎉
@@MattyDaddy14 I couldn’t mount them like the front because there’s no wall on the left, just ceiling. I’m still looking into other options though and definitely considering in ceilings 🔊
You definitely need more 20 amp dedicated circuits. Your home theater is underpowered presently. You will definitely notice a difference in dynamics and loudness when you have your amplifier, Reciever, and subwoofers on separate dedicated 20 amp circuits. I added 5, 20 amp dedicated circuits to my home theater and noticed the difference in performance immediately. Your home theater looks nice.
