I think it would be really fun for you, Alexa, and Karina to all just randomly pick one of you 3 to thrift three or 4 themed outfits for each other! Like date night or something as an example. ❤❤❤❤
Perfect timing. I has about to cry, feels like everything is crumbling in my life but a video from my favorite UA-camr feels like a virtual hug, a comfort moment in the middle of my mess. Thank you Carrie
Try oxiclean gel on the sleeves. Apply it , rub it in and let it sit for 15-30 minutes. If you re worried about using chemicals, try cheap straight lemon juice instead. You can soak the the entire sweatshirt without fading. Squeeze out the excess after the soak and hang in a sunny window. Repeat as necessary until the stains are gone.
Loveee everything! That vest it’s so cool! That dress is sooo cute! There’s a easy hack to make it fit better wherever you want it to. Take two safety pins and put them in the inside seam where they come together. Then put a string or shoelace through them and tighten it to desired fit!!
I don’t think I could go through these bins because of overstimulation 😅I definitely need to be in a mood and prepared to thrift otherwise it can give me a headache from the mental and visual stimuli but I love watching these! My local goodwill only has one bin that they just put shrunk clothes in and random pieces of fabric, and I don’t think we have any exclusively bins locations near me so this is interesting.
I know reselling is a thing and I am not at all interested in starting that conversation, but i have to say I love that you thrift like a real person. If it won't fit or you don't love it you leave it for someone else. I know you do resell things sometimes but you thrift for the hunt and the love not for the profit and gotta say just love to see it
The best part of that Winston sweatshirt is that the original owner probably collected cigarette “points” or box tops for years to buy that sweater. Many of the cigarette brands did that back in the day. The only way to get their branded items was to save your box tops which were worth points and you could use the points to buy branded items of those ciggy brands. 😂
I just want to say you are definitely a source of comfort and calm for me! I have a one year old and when I actually get a rare moment to sit , I grab a big coffee and watch your videos❤ sending love from Sydney, Australia
I'm so stoked for you and Alexa that you ladies got to rummage through the bins 30 mins early! How fun!!!!! You both found some beautiful pieces! I adore thrifting videos from you both! 😌💛
These pieces are all such gems! Two things, 1. If you haven’t re-homed that dress yet, you could try the safety pin and ribbon trick to make it fit a bit tighter :) and 2. For getting the stains out of the sweatshirt (if you haven’t already) my mom owns an organic body care company, so I use her stain stick or dish soap bar, but you could try other bar soaps that you have on hand :))
I was so shocked when you selected the Winston sweatshirt, it’s a major cigarette brand, so I’m glad you did find that out I was worried! 😂 Winnie Red’s are kind of considered a bogan option in Australia, has a bit of reputation and it’s not a brand I’d be associating with on purpose. Check if other Americans know what it means! ❤
My mom was a master of stain removal. Make a paste with borax and water. Apply a good amount to the stain and let it sit overnight or at least several hours. Rinse off while scrubbing. Throw in wash. I should be clean. I spilled an entire cup of coffee on a white sweatshirt when driving from Boston to Fl. Left it in the trunk with every intention to throw away. A week later when we were leaving my mom saw it and put her magic paste on it. When I got back to Boston I rinsed its off and all the coffee was gone!
Omg the blue dress I love it on you!! Would it be to much to alter?!! Or if you do get it altered would you show it please❤love love love these videos!!
I would suggest soaking the Winston sweatshirt in a sink full of whiting OxiClean! We did that with my grandma's wedding dress that had been sitting in a closet in a bag for years and it came out looking brand new!
The blue dress thatz too big would be the perfect dress for a thrift flip where you make the corset back. Get some similar colored fabric and make a long steing, cut a few pieces out and stitch into seems on the side/back. Would be soooo easy to do!!
Fun to get to go in early, and you found some neat things! I enjoy your videos and I’m not going to stop watching! But personally, I wouldn’t wear a hugely branded item from a company I have zero support for, I do understand that aesthetically the look is very vintage and cute but Winston…?! Kind of like being a free walking billboard for a terrible cigarette brand 😅 Pretty sure those stains are from nicotine, and I’ve seen house renos that required entire ceilings and walls needing to be torn down due to nicotine stains so… good luck 😅
You should do a video of getting thrift bin clothes (like the blue dress) altered to fit, holes repaired or professionally cleaned to get stains out then share the full bin and alteration price at the end in comparison with buying something like that new!
for that winston sweatshirt: put tap warm (not hot!) water in a bucket and dump oxy-clean in (probably 2 scoops!). let it soak overnight. in the morning, sprinkle a little more oxy and scrub the offending areas. then wash on cold with regular detergent (you could spray shout or add more oxy clean to the wash) and DRY ON LOW/FLUFF. repeat until you get the desired effect! this used to work wonders on white softball pants with grass stains. hope it works for you!
Try using dawn dish soap and peroxide. You’ll have to use a full bottle and about 1/2 cup of soap then let it sit for at least 3 days. Stir it around each day. Cool shirt.
First try ZOTE (wet the fabric, rub a lot of ZOTE and lay it flat to the sun). Hand wash and then wash as usual. If that doesn't work, try to figure out what the stain could possibly be and try with the Dr. Beckmann products that work for specific kind of stains (oil, rust, ink, etc). Now, don't use a drying machine until the stain is removed, or the stain will set.
If you think those stains are from color bleeding in storage, try soaking the sleeves in RIT color remover. It’s specifically for color dye transfer that other stain removal products won’t be able to lift!
Yay! I love you and Alexa together. What great finds! I wasn’t sold on the jersey top when you first showed it, but it looks so stinking cute on you styled with your overalls! 😍
Arrow shirts used to be HUGE .... they make quality products. It was absorbed by Westpoint Pepperell in the 1980s. The Arrow name is still licensed to brand men's shirts and ties.
My favorite stain treatment spray is Zout. That said, once a stain goes through the dryer, it's set. Try the Zout. If the stain persists after washing, don't put in the dryer, treat it again and wash again.
You should try soak on the staining. It is a super gentle no agitation wash used for knit wear. It is perfect for your new bra as well as any other vintage clothing.
omg i would DIE going in there before opening and before all the crowds, that is so AMAZING. i LOVE that winston long sleeve. nascar actually had their cup series called the winston cup series from the early 70s to early 00s! so kind of also a nascar connection besides it just being a cigarette brand 👏
I hope my mom and I go to the good Will outlet this summer , I have only ben to a good Will outlet one time several years ago !! ❤ Love your videos keep them coming!!
I also have a button up shirt from Arrow Kent! Mine is a bright white and is also patterned with like shiny white stripes. Arrow Kent is definitely a vintage brand although I’m not sure what era
Hi Carrie good morning happy Thursday morning and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Yessss! That Michael Scott paper company t shirt is bombbbbb 🔥 you can wash the sweatshirt with oxiclean maybe it'll work for those stains. It usually works for me
my go to for getting stains out of lighter colored fabrics is mixing baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dawn dish soap into a paste and letting it sit for a few hours before washing !
I love your videos and your energy! The floral dress that was a little big on you might be cute with a low slung western belt and cowboy boots. It looked really cute on you 😊
In the 1986-87 school year, I made a polo-collared sweatshirt with cuffs and a curved bottom hem in my Home Ec class. We had to wear what we made on the day they were being graded. I got an A on it. The next time I wore it to school, it was a short sleeve polo sweatshirt with a straight bottom hem. The third time I wore it to school, the polo collar was gone. After that, I couldn't wear it to school because I had turned it into a sleeveless cropped top (so it didn't follow the dress code). I did, however, rock that top until it no longer fit me.
It would be so awesome if your thrifted cool items to sell on posh mark and donating the money to a cause you are passionate about. I know I would buy some!
one time i found a vintage t shirt at the bins that was supposed to be white but the entire shirt was yellow so i took a chance and soaked it in oxiclean white revive and it came out looking brand new
How do you decide what to add to your closet? Or is it that you’re motivated by the individual piece? Basically I’d love to know how you build your wardrobe for the year/ seasonally
I love that you brought up intentionally childless because for a lot of women there’s a expectation that if you’re in a relationship if you’re engaged if you’re married then automatically the questions become are you pregnant? When are you going to be pregnant? How many kids are you gonna have it’s nice to hear that. It is not a requirement for a woman to be a mother. Thank you for sharing that message even in the smalls way by knowledge your choice.
If it hasn't been mentioned, soaking that Winston collared sweatshirt in oxyclean for DAYS - really letting it marinate gets rid of so much staining. Use lots of it in a bucket or utility sink and stir from time to time. LPT from me - a lifetime thrifter.
I remember when you guys almost got thrown out for filming, and now they're letting you in EARLY by yourselves!! Iconic!
A lot of these places are learning the power of social media, so they’re becoming more open about letting people film if they get permission.
An Alexa and Carrie collab is EXACTLY what I needed on this stressful Wednesday 🥰
I think it would be really fun for you, Alexa, and Karina to all just randomly pick one of you 3 to thrift three or 4 themed outfits for each other! Like date night or something as an example. ❤❤❤❤
Oooh, fun idea!
Perfect timing. I has about to cry, feels like everything is crumbling in my life but a video from my favorite UA-camr feels like a virtual hug, a comfort moment in the middle of my mess.
Thank you Carrie
❤
Sending so much love to you - hoping things get better very very soon 🩷 please take care of yourself 🫶
@victoriastod9328 that is so sweet, thank you so much Victoria ❤️
How are you now? Hope all is well❤ Life is hard sometimes, but it ALWAYS gets better
@@Loeviis things aren’t the best right now but I’ll keep in mind everything will get better eventually. Thank you for being so kind
literally was SO MUCH FUN AHH ❤

As a F1🏎 fan I was just like "that's a cigarette brand" as soon as I saw the Winston sweatshirt. Nice finds 😊
Loveee everything! That vest it’s so cool! That dress is sooo cute! There’s a easy hack to make it fit better wherever you want it to. Take two safety pins and put them in the inside seam where they come together. Then put a string or shoelace through them and tighten it to desired fit!!

I got super overwhelmed on this trip, so I don’t blame you!! It’s a lot and definitely not for everyone!
I know reselling is a thing and I am not at all interested in starting that conversation, but i have to say I love that you thrift like a real person. If it won't fit or you don't love it you leave it for someone else. I know you do resell things sometimes but you thrift for the hunt and the love not for the profit and gotta say just love to see it
Been debating people hating resellers for a while and still haven't had a good reason. Wanna add to it?
I’ve never been so early… somehow you read my mind and knew I needed a new Carrie Dayton video today 🫶🏼
And we all know that cuff staining is from the cigarettes! Hahaha
The original owner probably died of lung cancer and now she's a walking billboard for a major tobacco company.
I just want to say you are definitely a source of comfort and calm for me! I have a one year old and when I actually get a rare moment to sit , I grab a big coffee and watch your videos❤ sending love from Sydney, Australia

Thanks for the video! I always appreciate that you show the pieces you were drawn to but didn't end up getting, and saying why. 👍👍
The brown vest with the white skirt is AMAZING

I thought it get great! Not sure what’s wrong with the fit
@@peachpollen same. The fit looked perfect to me, but I prefer looser dresses.
I would like to see you thrift for decor next. I love seeing decor from these places. Especially in LA.
I would suggest soaking the Winston sweatshirt in a sink full of whiting OxiClean! We did that with my grandma's wedding dress that had been sitting in a closet in a bag for years and it came out looking brand new!
Thrift flip video PLEASE!!! Esp with that Winston shirt 💕
I want the Pepsi t and the Harvard hoodie, how exciting you got the place to yourselves🎉
The blue dress thatz too big would be the perfect dress for a thrift flip where you make the corset back. Get some similar colored fabric and make a long steing, cut a few pieces out and stitch into seems on the side/back. Would be soooo easy to do!!

Route 66 was Kmart! Such a good find

THE NIKE SKORTTTT 😫😫😫 i look for those and never find them 😭
Such an iconic dou!
You both have such unique insights on thrifting and fashion in general, when you combine forces it's just the best.
anytime I go to the bins, the depop bros are SO prominent
They are EVERYWHERE lol!!
Route 66 is vintage KMART. And the quality is just incredible to me, I'm always so impressed when I find it!
Try using dawn dish soap and peroxide. You’ll have to use a full bottle and about 1/2 cup of soap then let it sit for at least 3 days. Stir it around each day. Cool shirt.
Feels like a vlog. So happy 💗
Love that Jameson jersey!!
Girl you gotta watch out for bed bugs at those thrift stores!
I was thinking the same. I personally couldn’t do it
First try ZOTE (wet the fabric, rub a lot of ZOTE and lay it flat to the sun). Hand wash and then wash as usual. If that doesn't work, try to figure out what the stain could possibly be and try with the Dr. Beckmann products that work for specific kind of stains (oil, rust, ink, etc). Now, don't use a drying machine until the stain is removed, or the stain will set.
You should do a bluebox video!!! They are like mystery boxes from Goodwill!
When Carrie says “iconic” take a shot😂
I think Route 66 brand was K-Mart! Great finds!
such great finds, I love the way you styled the jersey!
thanks bb, we missed you!!! 💞
I'm obsessed with that Winston shirt. Good find!
Love everything that you got! I love when you and Alexa go thrifting together! ❤
If you think those stains are from color bleeding in storage, try soaking the sleeves in RIT color remover. It’s specifically for color dye transfer that other stain removal products won’t be able to lift!
The best stain remover I have found for all my thrifted clothing is this stuff called Awesome from Dollar Tree!
For the stains: you can get a bar of fels naphtha at Walmart in the laundry aisle. Works wonders!
The Lucy Dacus shorts and the bye top!! Ugh I would have paid good $$ for the combo. 😭😭
Thrifting with Sierra? Would be fun! :D
Yay! I love you and Alexa together. What great finds! I wasn’t sold on the jersey top when you first showed it, but it looks so stinking cute on you styled with your overalls! 😍
I didn’t understand the jersey until you put it with the overalls and OMG SO CUTE 😍
Dawn power wash for all laundry stains babay! ❤😂
Arrow shirts used to be HUGE .... they make quality products. It was absorbed by Westpoint Pepperell in the 1980s. The Arrow name is still licensed to brand men's shirts and ties.
Resolve carpet cleaning spray is great on stains
Can’t wait to watch this! And Alexa’s too! I love doing the Goodwill bins though they are definitely not for the faint of heart ❣️🙄
It is perfect for your new bra as well as any other vintage clothing.
always love your collabs with Alexa!
That Winston shirt is everything
omg i would DIE going in there before opening and before all the crowds, that is so AMAZING. i LOVE that winston long sleeve. nascar actually had their cup series called the winston cup
series from the early 70s to early 00s! so kind of also a nascar connection besides it just being a cigarette brand 👏
love the white shirt look !!!!!! i know u have bad history with them but this looked so good on u
The fit 🥴
I hope my mom and I go to the good Will outlet this summer , I have only ben to a good Will outlet one time several years ago !! ❤
Love your videos keep them coming!!
Kmart was Route 66
I also have a button up shirt from Arrow Kent! Mine is a bright white and is also patterned with like shiny white stripes. Arrow Kent is definitely a vintage brand although I’m not sure what era
Obsessed with the fact that it's near impossible to say Alexis's username without reciting the song. You simply must do it every time
Hi Carrie good morning happy Thursday morning and I hope you having amazing day today and I loved your vlogs and you are amazing Supporter and I'm proud of you
Great deal on the clothes I can’t find deals like that in Canada! Cute dress!
Yessss! That Michael Scott paper company t shirt is bombbbbb 🔥 you can wash the sweatshirt with oxiclean maybe it'll work for those stains. It usually works for me
Had no idea this was a thing! (and I fully support your gloves and sanitizing point from another vid) ty!
I would try Dr. Bronners Castile soap for the stains! I don’t know how or why, but it’s been working better than my shout stain remover!
These videos always stress me out a bit because inevitably you pass on something I love. 😂
That Valencia football tee is my high-school lol
Just wat I needed as a distraction today ❤ thank you 😊 have a great day 🌻
my go to for getting stains out of lighter colored fabrics is mixing baking soda, hydrogen peroxide, and dawn dish soap into a paste and letting it sit for a few hours before washing !
We have Salvation Army warehouse in Minneapolis that sells target rejects or sample items. I LOVE IT!
love ya girl but what is this outfit? was this a "i got dressed in the dark" challenge??
I love this outfit on her! It’s fun and unique
Lol same
Lol I absolutely don’t get it either… but then I might be biased bc I hate cowboy boots lol
I love your videos and your energy! The floral dress that was a little big on you might be cute with a low slung western belt and cowboy boots. It looked really cute on you 😊
That dress looks so good on you.

Great video! Missing your vlogs! 💕
If I’m really struggling with a stain I have the item dry cleaned, they do an excellent job most of the times
It would be so awesome if your thrifted cool items to sell on posh mark and donating the money to a cause you are passionate about. I know I would buy some!
Carrie, get a fels naptha bar they’re like $1 at Walmart and I promise it will get any stain out of anything!
If you ever get over the Jameson jersey send it my way!
Your braids look SO good on you!! 😍😍
That's so cool that the Goodwill location in OC let you do that!
I think maybe felsnaptha (detergent/soap bar) and rubbing it on there? It may work, it seems to get everything else out hahaha
one time i found a vintage t shirt at the bins that was supposed to be white but the entire shirt was yellow so i took a chance and soaked it in oxiclean white revive and it came out looking brand new
GET THAT DRESS ALTERED. IT LOOKS SO CUTE ON YOU!!!
I will definitely take that dress .. I'm a xl 16/18
How do you decide what to add to your closet? Or is it that you’re motivated by the individual piece? Basically I’d love to know how you build your wardrobe for the year/ seasonally
I always love watching your goodwill bins videos but it seems like it would be pure sensory HELL for me 😂
Feeling a sense of loss over those Lucy Dacus shorts
I love that you brought up intentionally childless because for a lot of women there’s a expectation that if you’re in a relationship if you’re engaged if you’re married then automatically the questions become are you pregnant? Route 66 is or was Kmart. I still own a few Route 66 clothing items.
I’m going to the Nashville bins tomorrow ❤
Route 66 was K-mart.I miss K-mart clothes so much 😢😊❤
