Amazing warranty from Leatherman. I originally bought my Wave 18 years ago. About 10 years ago I was using the file to pry something and it snapped, (DOH!) lesson learned; never use a file to pry stuff, it's brittle steel. I continued to use it with the broken file all these years until I went to their website two months ago thinking about buying a new one . I learned about their 25 year warranty. I decided to mail my Wave in, thinking that they would repair it for a cost, after all the damage was my fault. They ended up sending my a brand spanking new Wave, for free! How cool is that?
I always use the dedicated "flathead screwdriver" as a pry bar and I have never had any issues. When it comes to Leatherman's customer service I have never heard anyone complain. They really do take care of their customers and always make it right the best way they can. They understand how important their tools are and how much we rely on them and they take pride in making sure we get treated the best way possible.
I had my Wave from 1998 to 2018 and used it every day, it was the most useful tool I’ve ever owned. Working a theatre production just about 12months before covid hit and I snapped the straight blade on my Wave, and I cried. I couldn’t afford to buy a replacement at that time and I felt like I had lost a part of my body! One of the other production guys told me about their warranty so I downloaded the forms off the website, filled them in and sent everything back to them. I less than 1 week I had a brand new wave+ delivered to my door for no cost! The best company I’ve ever had to deal with just so happen to make the most useful tool I’ve ever owned. 10 out of 10
@@newageselfreliance - Let me raise my hand! Over the past 30 years I have had several issues. Sent them a broken unit and they said they never received it, supplied them a delivery receipt from USPS second day mail, and they simply responded that shows the post office delivered it, not that we received it. Another time the handles collapsed while trying to free a bolt that kept slipping. They said that wasn’t its function, warranty denied. Leatherman’s lifetime warranty only applies if they can’t blame the user.
Leathermans warranty service is amazing. I bought a Rebar and broke the large flathead. I called and spoke to a very helpful warranty service member (who spoke clear English) shipped them my tool and had it repaired for nothing but $5 in shipping cost!
I have heard a lot of really good stories about Leatherman Customer Service. I'm really glad they stand behind all of their products and make sure the Customer is always happy.
I sent my old original first generation Wave with broken pliers together with my damaged ten years old Skeletool CX and instead of repair or replacement I asked for a E- Voucher that gives you a credit to use on their website so I upgraded to a better tool and got the new Charge+with better pliers and 154CM knife blade👍
Hey! I'm from Argentina and you speak clearly so I understood everything you said. I just bought a Wave and this video was useful to me. Keep going! And thanks!!
I got a Wave with Ferro rod and Streamlight Microstream in my tackle box, a Wave + in my glovebox with the extender and 2 cars bit kit. The Skeletool with the 1 card bit kit is in my Harley saddlebag. It's been amazing to me how useful these tools are over the past 15-20 years. (Started with a PSTii) I am definitely a Leatherman fan for life.
People joke about how I fixed my whole house with just this Leatherman. I'm always reaching for it and using it in everything we do. Electrical, installing new ceiling fans, tightening water fixtures. I have used the Leatherman for almost everything. The fact that something that can do so much can be in my pocket at all times blows my mind every time I use it.
I use a leather sheath with my pocket clip.. just put the clip over the front of the sheath so it is outside the sheath next to the clip... plenty of room, and the tool is inside. Been doing this for years.
Does the clip spring back into place or does the Leather open the gap? I guess the real question is does the pocket clip still fit tight in your pocket or has it loosened over time?
Was thinking about getting a wave for the longest time ever since my dad got one. This video really sealed the deal for me. Thank you for the great review and recommendations for possible setups/use.
I use the nylon sheath same way you do, but instead of ferro rod I have a small flashlight in the spare pocket on the side of the sheath, so when I must repair something in dark, I have an option to do so (the flashlight also has clip, so I can put it on my baseball cap and use it as a headlamp). I really like leather sheaths for my tools, but this nylon sheath is really way more practical.
I agree I wish the leather sheath was the same design as the Nylon sheath. I always have a flashlight in my pocket. I don't know how people live without a flashlight. I use mine all the time.
One hack you can do to your bit extension is find a metal pen clip and attach it to the extension bit. That way you would lose it as that sleeve will get lose after some times
I carry my Leatherman in the nylon Sheaf and I like it I use it for so many things it’s incredible I work on boats and I tell the kids that I could winterize a whole boat without any other tool but my Leatherman tool I use the saw to cut the bolts have used the file to file the flatness down on stuff like a sharp but I would never go out without it
I live in uk and the leather sheath I have can fit the bits, extender and still has both side elastics. It also has the hole so can fit the wave opened with pliers. I also carry a torch and a clipper lighter in the two side elastic compartments and I have the clip attached too. Can send photos if you want
Did it come with your Wave or did you have to buy it separately? For $15 you can get a different leather sheath from Leathermen that looks like it holds more but it isn't really for the Wave. amzn.to/2MwOkF7
wolf pack woodcraft My leather one came with the wave. I also got a nylon one but lost it so bought another recently as I wanted to attach a clip to sheath so I can wear it on my belt and take it off without having to take my belt off. My wave is about 8 years old and the leather sheath still ok but is showing its age.
I would rather have a good leather sheath for my belt than the nylon one that I got with the Wave. I only use the nylon because it holds everything so well.
Leatherman is a great company that has been making Multi-tools since the beginning. I have both a Gerber and I really like the function and the feel of the Leatherman so much more than the Gerber. Thank You so much for all of your support it really means a lot to me!!!
i have the leatherman wave and have been carrying it by itself for a long time in a full leather sheath. but now i’m going to go ahead and get the bit kit with the newer leatherman sheath with the button closure. great review!
The thing most people like about the Leatherman brand is the quality. If taken care of they can last a lifetime with zero issues. Thank You so much for watching!!!
I have a leather sheath and it has 1 elastic pocket that will hold 1 of the bit holders. I ordered the set of 2 bit holders and carry the bits I will likely use, around cars, if I think I my need the others I bring them along. Leatherman sells the bits and holders in a Set, Bit Kit Replacement #1, and Bit Kit Replacement #2. I've been thinking about buying the nylon sheath so I carry both bit sets, not sure how much I will use the other bits and if I want to put up with the extra weight. Your video was good.
I'm glad you enjoyed the video. I never really carry the bit kits anymore. The rare times I do need a special bit I usually have my bucket of tools with me that includes a standard multi-bit screwdriver. I rarely wish I had a torx or square bit on me, but I always enjoy not having the extra weight on my side.
I use the lanyard with a loop around my wrist (the thing you threw away) during times when I could lose the tool, like when fishing in a boat unhooking a fish, or once when working over a septic tank. Of course, the Wave has a built in lanyard ring so I guess you could use that.
That is a good idea to use it for fishing. Personly I would use the built-in Lanyard ring just because it is built into the tool and can not accidentally be removed. Even though the detachable one is more convenient to use because you can leave the lanyard attached, I would still use the one that is built-in.
Just missing an awl, which is a major lack for bushcrafters and woodworkers. But easy enough to make one for the bit-holder, or to carry a separate small awl in the side elastic. I wish for a Wave-size Surge. I use the Surge for bushcrafting, but it is to big for many. But in any case, nice job making it clear about sheaths and options. Many are indeed confused or disappointed but different sheaths and fitting in add-ons. Thanks!
I'm glad I could help. I think the bit kit comes in very handy when it comes to doing things on the go and not having to carry actual tools with you. Thank You so much for watching I really appreciate the support!!!
That’s one heck of a tool box right there. Have been using super tool 3000 a couple yrs still with no belt carry. It’s a throw in bag thing for me and I keep my bag close.
I always have my Wave in my pocket no matter where I go. I have done so much work with this multitool I have gotten my money's worth 100 times over again. Thank You so much for watching I really appreciate the support!!!
I typically prefer Leather over Nylon and the Push-Button over Velcro. My problem with carrying the Wave on my belt is, that you constantly get caught on something with the holster. The push-button is just not tight enough and it accidentially opens occasionally and I keep checking all the time, if it's still closed. That compared with the versatility of the Nylon sheath plus velcro makes it (at least for me) superior. Carrying the Wave without having at least some bits doesn't make too much sense for me. If I want to go out ligth and compact, I go with the Wingman.
There should be an elastic slot on the inside of the leather sheath for the bit kit. I am also able to fit a pocket wrench in it as well. It’s tight for the first day or two but it will stretch out.
My leather sheath doesn't have a place for the bit kit, that must be a new feature they added on. I would be interested to see the new style and how it differs from the original.
i used an Allen key drill drive extension with the side's of the allen key ground off and did the same with the top end of the Allen key so I had a 90 degree angle and socket fitted on it. So I have a straight drive or 90 degree drive for every thing Allen. And they both fit in the plastic case with the bits, perfect and big time handy
I like the way you explained the different options and how it can be configured different ways. Personally, I would go with Gerber Center Drive over the Leatherman Wave, as it comes with a standard bit set and nylon sheath that holds everything. Overall though, I definitely love Leathermans and own many of them. Their warranty rocks though, as I've had a couple tools break and they replaced them no questions asked.
I have heard a lot of really good things about the Center Drive. I have owned a Gerber and I like the features and the feel of the leatherman. I may have to give the Center Drive a chance though I didn't realize it came with so much.
I have the CenterDrive. I have to say that with the extension, the Leatherman with the bit driver socket has as good a reach. The trick is open up the handles into one straight line on the Wave or Surge. Also same for the SwissTool Spirit, which has good-length drivers, especially the Phillips. The body of the CenterDrive blocks any deeper use of the long driver holder. I often get better reach, or nearly the same, with Leatherman and driver extension. The Gerber is ok, but then the inside tools are not as good as Leatherman or Victorinox. Prone to brittleness and snapping off. I have over 30 multitools, Gerber, SOG, Leatherman, Victorinox. All have good points, but I have to say I own and use a Wave, a Supertool, and a SwissTool over 20 years old, including useage from my goat dairy days--nearly a thousand head. Leatherman and Victorinox have proven themselves.
Hi, Kory - great video! I like to carry the nylon sheath with all the options...I also added a Victorinox SD in the little Velcro pocket section in front of the main compartment...
Good video dude. I use my Leaatherman Wave in a nylon sheath with bit kit and bit extender in one side pouch and in the other side pouch I have in it a micro stream stream light c4. It works for me.
I like being able to carry everything I need in the sheath as well. Knowing I have a little toolbox on my hip has really helped me a ton. Thank You so much for watching I really appreciate the support!!!
wolf pack woodcraft - I love the fact that with all that in my sheath and on my hip, I have a lot of options, really makes it really versatile. Love the review dude keep up the good work.
Awesome review! I have several leatherman tools and I just ordered my Wave plus from the leatherman website for 79 bucks. The replaceable wire cutters are a must! I have a Surge but I also want the Wave for lighter carrying purposes. Great review!
The Wave is much lighter than the Surge. I really enjoy using the pocket clip, I carry it every day and use it all the time. The only drawback to this knife is everyone is always asking to borrow it when I'm out with my friends lol. Thank You so much for watching I really appreciate the support!!!
I have a Leatherman or 20. A Wave in my work belt, a Charge AL clipped in the back pocket, the OG Wave, ST EOD, Raptor, and Mono grammed Micra in my EDC pack. There's a full accessory pouch in there too. The OG MUT wrench and the removable bit driver make a good little torque driver. And one needs the two pin punches available, they fit in the top of the bit cards with minor moding.
I wish they would redesign the bit kit. They have a really good concept but it would be nice if both sides were a smooth surface for getting the kit in and out. Plus, they should put the bottom wedge on the other side.
I bought everything knowing I would like to have the access to everything right there on my belt. However, I feel most people would be just as happy with just the leatherman and the screwdriver extension. I'm hoping this video saves someone some money one day lol.
Keep in mind nylon has much higher tensile strength. It looks flimsy but its not. Rigid does not always=strength. The leather sheath looks amazing and thats it. Its actually more prone to wear from moisture as opposed to nylon which can last ages.
The sheath isn't being used for its tensile strength it is being used to hold up to the friction of the tool going in and out on a daily bases. The leather holds up over time and doesn't separate or come apart as the Nylon does. The Leather can also handle more wear from the tool going in and out of the sheath multiple times a day. That is why Gun holsters and Knife sheaths are made of leather. That said I still use the Nylon sheath because it holds more gear. I like being able to carry the bit kit with me from time to time. Most days I just use the pocket clip but if I'm going somewhere that I might actually need to use the Leatherman I make sure to have everything with me.
Congratulations, excellent video. I would like to ask, what version of the Wave do you prefer and do you think is better, the STANDAR version or the PLUES? Thank you.
I've owned my Wave for about 3 years now and I don't use my Wire Cutters all that often. So for me, the Standard Wave Is my favorite because I don't have to worry about any screws coming loose and losing my cutters altogether. However, if you use your wire cutters all the time, I know how important a good sharp set is and so being able to have a clean cutting set of wire cutters whenever you need it without having to carry anything extra would be nice as well.
I have my Wave since 2006 and still going strong. Much prefer the "look" of the plus but... I don't use the wire cutters so no reason to change. I won't call that an upgrade. Now I'm considering going to Charge plus because of the look LOL.
I don't have a Leatherman wave. I have a Gerber suspension multitool though. It's ok for light duty stuff but I'm sure the wave is better. I might look into upgrading when mine breaks or wears out. I'd like to get one of the smaller ones for my daughters.
Leatherman is my favorite brand of multi-tools. When I was researching them Leatherman and Gerber seemed to be the most popular when it came to function and fit and finish. I have a Gerber and just like the functions and the feel of the Leatherman better.
@@rooster-cord2800 I like the idea of scout carry because it seems to be less in the way running along the belt instead of hanging off from it. However, every time I carry in scout I worry about it falling out or gravity working against me instead of with me. The paranoia far out ways the convince for me. One of these day I should just suck it up and do it but for right now I'm not gonna risk losing my favorite tool.
Like the nylon ....just like a leather one i have it does the same thing i carry all of those plus a 3/8 socket driver for a 12 piece 3/8 socket set in my pocket works for me
I EDC the Wave in my pocket with the pocket clip attachment. I only use the sheath if I plan on going somewhere that I might need the extra tools. The ferro rod is just so people can get a good idea of the size of the side sleeve. The ferro rod I carry with me has started more gas grills than fires.
I did find that someone in the comments pointed it out. The pocket clip comes with a lanyard as well so you switch between the two. Thank you so much for watching I really appreciate your support.
Hey, thanks for the reply. Appreciate it! That link leads to an unavailable product, and that particular sheath in the link looks like the one I got with the wave which doesn’t help me unfortunately! Haha. Just looking for a sheath that holds the wave plus, but extender and but kits! Thanks
I simply bought 2x 20.00 Canadian Dewalt smartphone holders. It carries my Surge in it's case, all the bits, a 6 inch crescent, a 4 inch vice grip and a 1/4 inch and a 3/8 inch socket adapter and an english wrench. I carry that on my left. . With my phone and spare batteries and a gerber dime and a Smith Sharpener kit with compass, light, whistle, firesteel and serated edge sharpener and a spare key and a sawed off set of cutlery and an army style can opener. I carry that on my right side. . I'm equally balanced and barely realize I'm carrying anything. . Sockets are cheap. I have a set at home, a set in my vehicle and a set at work so never far away but I don't carry them around.
That is a really good idea using phone cases to carry your gear. I have seen other people use magazine holders to carry multitools and other gear as well. I think the phone cases would draw a lot less attention and be more comfortable to carry.
Awesome video man helps me out a lot. I carry mine as is, id probably wind up loosing the bits and extender. I replaced the scissors with an awl off my rebar as i use an awl often. My biggest concern with the wave is the small springs in the bit drivers, i fear the might break or loosen. Have you had any issues with yours?
I've been carrying my Wave every day for a few years now and the springs are just as tight as they were brand new. The screwdrivers and the pliers are the things I use the most and they are both still rock solid.
I have the leather case and the pocket clip it fits in case and on the side pouch I have a one aaa 🔋 flash light fits good 👍 and in the pouch one sleeve of the bits that's it
Leatherman is #1 bud, I happen 2 have 11 of them, my EDC is The Heavy Duty Surge, but my Skelatool CX comes in 2nd, I'm stoked about my new charge+ G10 earth, black on black!!! A bit pricey but Cool 😎 lookin. ✌🙏
I have owned my Leatherman Wave for over 6 years now and it still works exactly the same as the day I got it. It has been on my side every day and been used for almost everything. It is by far worth every penny.
I have one but it doesn't have the extra loops that allow you to carry it sideways on your belt. Would also prefer a clip or stud on the belt loop so you can attach it to other things without pulling it apart. My life jacket for example.
Have not been able to find good carriers for a little flashlight and Cell phone . Also prefer leather and also chlicking snaps are superior to these Botton snaps that come loose in high action
You can find 3rd party sheaths. I don't have any experience with any of them but there are some affordable ones out there if you keep an eye out. esensbuy.com/products/unique-quality-leather-belt-loop-waist-multitool-sheath?currency=USD&variant=32173938475044&Google%20Shopping&gclid=CjwKCAjwjbCDBhAwEiwAiudBy0k0TT0LDJmJgWTBTWhu2wQfIwtzITOw0OCQ7mykhL_RkdNygwkfbxoCAE8QAvD_BwE
Ik you made this two years ago but I’ve been looking for that nylon sheath that holds all the bits and a pocket on each side but I can’t find it anywhere could you tell me where you got yours
So the Ferro Rod I use is the Exotac it's kind of expensive so maybe you can find one about the same size but cheaper ( amzn.to/3phkWnJ ) The Pocket clip I have is this one ( amzn.to/3IeUsfh ) and if you are looking for a sharpener the one that I use all the time is the Fallkniven DC4 ( amzn.to/31kJaoS ) These are affiliate links but sometimes you can find all of these things cheaper at hunting stores like Cabelas.
Hey my name is Jonathan I have just the regular way. Could someone please comment and let me know where I can buy a feral rod that will fit in the Leatherman sheath? Thanks
I like the pocket clip option but i just bought a bigger leather case from leatherman. I own the charge tti. Can you do a review for that please? I subscribed
The nylon sheath you showed, does that come with the multi tool package? The nylon sheath I got with the wave plus doesn't have the side sleeves, is that normal?
I just looked and found one that doesn't have the sleeves amzn.to/33sdifm here is the one you will need if you call them and see if you can exchange it amzn.to/35xLicP
@@newageselfreliance Thank you. Looks like I got the version containing a sheath without side pockets. Interesting that they are the same price in your link.
It is weird that the price would be the same because the one sheath looks to be much better. Hopefully they will let you exchange it for the better option.
Leatherman makes quality stuff no doubt about it. My very first knife/multi-tool was a leatherman. Now days i just go for the swiss army knife. Cheaper then the leathermans lol
I like the pliers on the Leatherman. The pliers are probably my most used tool other than the knife on my multi-tool. Thank You so much for watching I really appreciate the support!!!
I carry mine same as you,in pocket with the clip.bit kit in sheath in my bag. Btw the wave has a lanyard ring from the factory. OP opposite of where you attach the clip,on the saw side.thin piece that slides out.
I've seen that lanyard ring. I think they kept it a secret because it is so thin. I'm not sure how well it would work without bending or breaking. Thank you so much for watching I really appreciate your support.
I EDC the Wave on its own but if I'm going to be doing anything that might need a multitool I bring the whole system. Thank You so much for watching I really appreciate the support!!!
I have the gammet of accessories in a nylon pouch in my EDC pack. Bit kit, OG MUT wrench, MUT bits, RBD w/ bit, 9mil and standard pin punches. Also in w/ my ST EOD, in my EDC pack, different saw blades.
I bought all of these on Amazon. Here is the text from Amazon US you can copy and paste it into Amazon Australia. LEATHERMAN - Premium Nylon Snap Sheath with Pockets Fits 4" Multitools, Medium

Don't see the purpose of having the pocket clip attached to the tool if you are carrying it inside the leather sheath? 2:50 The sheath was made to fit the multi-tool only, just like any other leather sheaths on the market made for the Wave. If for some reason you like to have the pocket clip attached, use the nylon sheath, it will stretch.
One of the most disappointing tools is the Leatherman Wave+. I had one bought from the US to India and it was not closing properly from day one. Have been trying to get warranty from Leatherman but haven’t seen a more horrendous customer support. Have pledged not to buy any product from Leatherman in future and tell anyone wanting to purchase a Leatherman not to get fooled by this company. Thank you Johnnie for not bothering to respond even after repeated requests!!!
I really like the Original Wave I don't find myself using the wire cutters enough to upgrade to the Wave+ just yet. You are actually the only person I have ever heard that has had problems with the customer support. I would see if you can talk to someone new that has worked there for some time. You probably got a new guy on a bad day.
Been keeping my Sidekick that I won 2 yrs. ago on my person for that time & it's never let me down. Great vid Kory ! Be Well, Friend, Scratch for Mora ATB Ter God Bless
Wow nice it has everything. Very nice. Yea I hear they are nice. It's prob worth it being all the stuff you would need to equel to the one set. Thanks for sharing to cool. Thanks for always having awesome vidoe. Have a good one god bless
thanks dude! was just about to buy the leather sheath as well and didn't think where i would keep the bit kits. deffo getting the nylon sheath! love your videos. keep it up!
I like to EDC with the pocket clip and when I might need the bit kit and other attachments I use the sheath. It just makes my Leather that much more versatile.
I already got the bit kit and I'm thinking of getting the bit extension and pocket clip . . But i will also need a bigger sheath . . Thanks for your informative video

Nice video Kory. I am not a fan of the multi tool. I use tools everyday for work and the multi tool is not one of them! I do have one in my Jeep emergency tool box but I have never used it. I didn't buy it, it just showed up in my possession.
Nothing beats having the right tool for the job. However, having a selection of "good enough" tools in your pocket at all times really comes in handy more than you would think.
That's SOP for Leatherman.
That's awesome.
Glad I could help!
Glad I could help. You will have to let me know what you think of it.
Cool video - My leatherman Super is 24+ years old (still going strong). I just bought the Wave + so this was an awesome video to watch.
Thank You so much for watching. I truly appreciate the Support.
That is a really good idea,
@@newageselfreliance give it a try and make a video
Pocket clip for my edc, for traveling, a sheath/ leather or nylon both works
I'm the same way. It is always in my pocket but even if I think I might need more I bring the sheath with everything in it.
I carry my Leatherman in the nylon Sheaf and I like it I use it for so many things it’s incredible I work on boats and I tell the kids that I could winterize a whole boat without any other tool but my Leatherman tool I use the saw to cut the bolts have used the file to file the flatness down on stuff like a sharp but I would never go out without it
I always have my Leatherman with me. I use it all the time. Thank You so much for watching. I really appreciate your support.
Almost forgot that you can fit in a mini sharpie permanent marker as well
Multi tools are awesome because of the multitude of applications. Leathermans are my go to.
I'm really glad I could help. Thank you so much for watching.
Leatherman have one of the best multitools... My dad had his one for over 5 years now
The thing most people like about the Leatherman brand is the quality.
Thanks!
Thank You so much for watching! I truly appreciate the Support!
Good video! I was on the fence about the bit extension and bit set. But now i feel confident i could carry that everyday.
Using the additional lanyard saw blades can be modded to fit in the end slot.
Thank You so much for watching. I truly appreciate the Support.
There should be an elastic slot on the inside of the leather sheath for the bit kit. I am also able to fit a pocket wrench in it as well. It’s tight for the first day or two but it will stretch out.
My leather sheath doesn't have a place for the bit kit, that must be a new feature they added on. I would be interested to see the new style and how it differs from the original.
i used an Allen key drill drive extension with the side's of the allen key ground off
and did the same with the top end of the Allen key so I had a 90 degree angle and socket fitted
on it. So I have a straight drive or 90 degree drive for every thing Allen.
And they both fit in the plastic case with the bits, perfect and big time handy
That is a really good idea. Thank You so much for watching. I truly appreciate the Support.
I used the leatherman leather sheath multi tool and a bic lighter only.
That alone is a great system. Most people don't even carry a pocket knife anymore, so having a Leatherman makes you able to do more than most.
Hi, Kory - great video! I like to carry the nylon sheath with all the options...I also added a Victorinox SD in the little Velcro pocket section in front of the main compartment...
Great tip!
Slide the bit kit in backwards in the sheath, it slides in smoother.
If you had to pick, which one would you say you use the most???
My AL is in my pocket most times. For shorts the Skeletool CX is a fine option.
I carry the Charge AL clipped in pocket, that way it doesn't interfere with the work belt. There's a Wave in the belt too.
Isn't the Charge exactly the same as the Wave only lighter? I was looking at the two and ended up getting the Wave because it was the cheaper option.
@@newageselfreliance the difference is premium scales and blade steel, it's a similar weight. The feel in hand is better.
The bit kit loads and extracts in the nylon case better backwards.
I wish they would redesign the bit kit. They have a really good concept but it would be nice if both sides were a smooth surface for getting the kit in and out. Plus, they should put the bottom wedge on the other side.
Fine observation, I rearranged my bits for ease of finding.
I have that nylon sheath and your addons, but I put a skeletool CX in there instead of a wave.
It is a really good sheath option. I don't use mine as much as I use to but every time I need it I'm glad I have it.
@@newageselfreliance What do you use now?
I just use the Pocket Clip attachment on the Wave. I carry it in my pocket everywhere I go.
Oh snap, same guy for the backpack. Lol, clearly you can tell I'm searching for backpacking gear. Glad I found your channel.
I'm glad you have been enjoying the videos. Hopefully they have been helpful.
I just wear my leatherman in my leather sheath and i don´t have any add ons at all but i had in mind to get some in the future. Great video as usual.
I bought everything knowing I would like to have the access to everything right there on my belt. However, I feel most people would be just as happy with just the leatherman and the screwdriver extension. I'm hoping this video saves someone some money one day lol.
Yeah and i don´t even have that screwdriver extension just the multitool but i have to agree this one is the one of the best multitools ever.
Great product, great info and great tips. Thanks, Tony
Thank You so much for watching! I truly appreciate the Support!
A feature Leatherman fans have been wanting for years.
I like the nylon sheath for the fact I can scout carry it on my belt, instead of vertical carry.
I forgot to mention that in the video. Are you ever worried about the knife falling out?
No sir, I’ve been carrying mine for over a year, and it has never been an issue.
Like the nylon ....just like a leather one i have it does the same thing i carry all of those plus a 3/8 socket driver for a 12 piece 3/8 socket set in my pocket works for me
The wave really is one of my favorite tools. I have used it for a ton of projects around the house.
@@newageselfreliance to me...that is amazing for such a tool
Thanks for the thorough video man!
Thank You so much for watching! I truly appreciate the Support!
Hmmm, I wonder what kinda work you do where EDCing a ferro rod comes in handy.
You can carry a ferro rod for years and never need it but that one time you DO need it....
@@HolyokeHighSchoolVideoProducti that's the same reason I carry a casket with me everywhere I go. Great minds think alike.

2:05 oh but you do have a lanyard hole. It should be buried near the saw. It is a secret function.
I did find that someone in the comments pointed it out. The pocket clip comes with a lanyard as well so you switch between the two. Thank you so much for watching I really appreciate your support.
Hey there! Thanks for the video. Great info.
Where can I get the larger nylon sheath for the wave? I have the bit Kit and extender!
I got mine on Amazon amzn.to/31X9aUd
@@newageselfreliance I hope you give it a try and like itvas much as I do.
So great! Thank you.
Glad you enjoyed it!
I have the leather case and the pocket clip it fits in case and on the side pouch I have a one aaa 🔋 flash light fits good 👍 and in the pouch one sleeve of the bits that's it
Which leather sheath did you get? The one I have only has the one sleeve on the side and that's it.
Check out the shapeways wave holster its badass and tough as nails
I will have to look into that. I haven't seen a slide system that can hold the bits and extension like that.
It is by far worth every penny.
how has it held up in this last year ?
Leatherman recently released a new range of nylon sheaths with clips instead of Velcro, much nicer, check them out.
I will have to check those out. Thank you so much for the heads up.
I have one but it doesn't have the extra loops that allow you to carry it sideways on your belt. Would also prefer a clip or stud on the belt loop so you can attach it to other things without pulling it apart. My life jacket for example.
Nice video brother which wave do you guys like better the wave plus or the one before that I have the one before the wave plus .
I like the Original Wave. I don't like the screw-on wire cutters. I would always be worried about the screw coming off and getting lost.

Yetti Fishouse is what I use to build. I'm not sure what TF is?
Here in Minnesota the lakes freeze solid and people bring fishhouses out on the water and go fishing from the inside. Basically its like a camper with holes in the floor. www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHZL_enUS800US800&biw=1536&bih=723&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=7XHvW5XCK7GU0PEP1r6R-A8&q=yetti+fishhouse&oq=yetti+fishhouse&gs_l=img.3..0i10i24l2.6683.7508..7707...0.0..0.98.530.6......1....1..gws-wiz-img.VYildjlnNQo
People Ice fish all winter long here even if they don't have a fishhouse it's just way nicer if you do. www.google.com/search?rlz=1C1CHZL_enUS800US800&biw=1536&bih=723&tbm=isch&sa=1&ei=pHLvW4b-GYmS0PEPgsauqA0&q=ice+fishing&oq=ice+fishing&gs_l=img.3..0l10.6890.8221..8356...0.0..1.215.1110.10j0j1......1....1..gws-wiz-img.XRHwyBXltYI
Dont want to be mean, but you sound much better in x1.25
Your the first person to admit I sound good lol. Thank you for your feedback.
Look for Ripoff brand sheath
I don't use the sheath enough to buy another one. I still use the Velcro Original. It gets the job done.
Wolf Pack Woodcraft check out the RAE sheath, trust me you won’t be disappointed.

Thank you so much for watching.
Man up and carry a surge.
Lol jk but I'm not a big guy and I etc the surge
GREAT multi tool!! You gutta check out my video...
" How my leathermam
Saved my ass" it's my EDC
I will check that out!!!
There is a hidden lanyard hole if ya didn't know that
I did not know that. I'm not really a lanyard fan but I may have to do a video showing how to use that. Thank You so much for sharing your knowledge.
That is a truly epic neck beard. smh. lolol
What's your favorite beard trimmer?
A leatherman of course.
@@brianblanco520 lol I always wondered why it came with both a straight and serrate blade.
Great video man :) I can tell you're a really top bloke, would shout you a beer anytime :) Cheers, Don (Dons Shed and Xplor Overland)

Brother I'm sorry, but what is that beard?? Come on now lol.
I don't plan on ever being a model, so I just let it do what it does.
