I just love this episode. The cherry blossoms are amazing. I used to watch your channel for what you cooked but being that I have a vegan channel fo my own, I still find myself clicking on your new videos because you always inspire me to get the hell out of the house and get outside. I never think of the outside like you do. I always see it as a chore to have to get out in the world and hit the gym or run in the morning, but then I see you just wanting to be out in nature and it inspires me to get out there too. I know this video is about what you are eating, but watching it inspires me to do more with being outside in nature than I am already doing.

I'm 60 and have been vegan for 6 years. I started exercising 13 months ago and have definitely increased muscle all over and have improved other things with my physique that I never thought I could. Plus everything has been accomplished post menopause. I read and have heard that couldn't really happen and I'm living proof that it can. It's never too late to start making changes.

cat on the counter - whenever you are not needing to use the kitchen, put crinkled up then flattened aluminum foil on the counter tops. Most cats hate the feeling on their feet and noise that it makes. you can use the same pieces multiple times, but most cats only need a few times before they start avoiding the counter tops. Our cat loved the counters....until three days of foil. Even after moving twice we never had to put foil down again. He just assumes counters are the enemy.

Your food series will help a lot of people understand the differences in macros. So many "personal trainers" say if you want to lose weight you'll want to stay away from fruit because of the sugars. Sugars, carbs and fats come in so many different forms. Schools should do so much more when it comes to basic nutrition. Great video again mate.

    Than-q! Than-q! Than-q!
You are a consistent, reliable, unwavering voice of calm, reason, nonjudgemental, openminded, factual information, responsibility and joy in your content and to your viewers in the midst of the chaos and inconsistency that is nutrition and fitness in society, including regarding plant-based and vegan nutrition for many.
You know you are doing something right when the worst the trolls can seem to come up with for the most part is to take shots at a “spotty beard” or make “short” jokes. With the integrity you display as a man, a content maker, a vegan and a human being, you leave nothing to poke holes in.
You have much to be proud of. Not just for how you have turned your own life around but for how you have and are impacting the world. You are changing lives with all you do. I have lost count of how many times I have seen someone mention your name recently in comments on other creators videos. You are hailed as putting out great content, providing fantastic information, helping people to have changed to eating plant-based or getting fit, often for the first time in their lives.
People appear to trust you and it often seems to be because you are a ”regular” guy living a “regular” life, in a regular house cooking your own ordinary food. Quite a lot of the work you do on your body has been and is still done with alternatives to stepping foot in the gym. You are an adult who has not only an education connected to what you are talking about and teaching, you also have life experience under your belt. You are not 23 and following the tide of trends, whatever friends are doing, one extreme “diet” after another in the hunt for “healing”, often from a seemingly self-diagnosed ailment, a “perfect body” (according to what standard of beauty, and created by whom?), being one with nature at a cellular level or any other rationale used for voluntarily depriving your body of the nutrition it requires to function and thrive at its optimum level. You are relatable to people from every walk of life. You are “one of them”. They do not feel lied to or manipulated. You share the information you know, both benefits and risks where applicable, while always encouraging your viewers to take the time to do their own research in order to make decisions that are best for their own fitness, wellbeing and overall health and happiness in order to live their best life possible. If that intention was behind all content created, what an incredibly healing, uplifting and inspirational place the internet and world would be.
Even sharing the reality of having a cat that prefers to be in the kitchen near you while you are cooking or filming is endearing. It makes me laugh that viewers comment on your cat being on the countertop. If only they knew where their cat actually roamed while they slept at night, showered, were at work or out shopping. Unless locked out of a room, cats will explore every square inch of a home every chance they get, especially areas with lots of smells, like a kitchen.
Your authenticity is what made me choose to subscribe to you. I can go to a book, Dr. Gregor or a search engine for nutritional facts and information. If I want it delivered with humour, sometimes a dose of a bootiful outdoor setting or adventure and sometimes a female view when Crystal is included in your video I turn to you. I am grateful for the opportunity and experience every time I do.
Keep doing all you do. You are impacting lives, young and old, male and female, from all walks of life.. It is lovely to watch your success grow. You deserve it!
With peace, gratitude, grace and light!

Hey Derek I found your channel recently and have been binge watching. I lost 70 lbs on a WFPB diet, now I'm lifting weights and increasing my activity, and after 8 weeks I've lost body fat and nearly an inch around my waist already. I got your ebook, and loving your meal ideas. I see when you chop stuff on your cutting board it moves around a little. One tip that one of my own viewers gave me: put a damp dish towel under the cutting board to prevent it from slipping. It really works! Yes on the B12 and acne thing...same thing was happening to me, bad cystic acne with the high doses. Thanks for your motivating videos!

Fun to watch while eating my home-made hummus with pasta&peas.
Hilarious when you fell on 3:40 xD, and licking the big stick of the blender!

I have been going through your channel watching as many videos as I can, and you've completely changed the way I eat. I hugely appreciate everything you're doing here and just want to let you know that you were the cause for a lifestyle change of mine! I'll continue to follow along. Thank you!

Wow, first time I've ever seen you use Daiya, Derek. 😲 I've never had it, myself, but I'd love to try Miyokos one day. Awesome video and amazing eats. Thank you! xx

Love seeing your reactions to the food you make. Your reactions are very genuine and you always provide feedback when something is just a little off. I also love it when you try something you really enjoy. Makes me want to try it! Keep it up!

One thing I would appreciate: I always wonder at what time you are eating! So if you mentioned that, that would be awesome!

Thanks for talking about the b12 - acne connection. I've also noticed the correlation many times, helpful to know smaller frequently doses will help 🙏

Just bought your vegan recipes book. Pretty stoaked to try them out. My buddies think I'm crazy for quitting drinking and partying and getting into the whole vegan alkaline food scene. 💪 and fresh food!!! Keep up the great inspiration and positivity brah! Much love from Socal!
