I have been on etsy and selling for about 8 years. My store is now a 6 figure business just on etsy and I love learning from other sellers great info
Can you give me some advice? I need to pay for college. Can I give you my email or something
Wow congratulations! That's amazing!
@New York to UK Very good advice
New York to UK never go to a nobody online for advice
Irony
@New York to UK Just because some are selfish people, there are some people out there who want to help, because they are not scared. Their success is not dependent on tearing other people down. Those people you want to be with.
Product photos, seo, promoted listings, and keyword research took my shop from 2 sales a month to over 80 sales this month. I love learning all I can to improve my shop!
Hey I'm trying to start my own shop. I do custom picture frames, mirrors, antiques, etc. I'm 19 and need to pay for college. Can I get your email?
Tiara can you make youtube how you do it
Don’t be affraid of international shipping - it’s no big difference to domestic one, just costs the buyer more. I am a small Etsy seller and all my sales on Etsy were international (with no issues at all).
I've been on Etsy for almost two years this month. It is hard people and not as easy as some make it to be. It all depends on what you're selling. Marmalead is not any good for those who have to use a particular key word but every key word that is being used is negative response. If you've not mastered SEO, Marmalead is not your program. Learning how to use key words will take up a lot of your time, a LOT of your time. I really do feel that there needs to be a SEO class for those who do not understand the terminology or how the program works. Good luck to all you first starters.
Bottom line...Etsy is a business and you must work it. If you do not go out and get leads yourself, just sitting back and expecting miracles, it will never work.
That whole perceived value thing. I am looking at starting up a handmade business on Etsy. One of the test case items I am using to compose a business plan is a beanie. I buy the beanie in and then embroider it. The embroidery takes 22 mins. I have 2 machines. So. I can make 4-5 an hour including set up time.
The cost of materials, labour and postage combined brings the cost of making that beanie to about £9 shipped domestically. Similar in quality beanies on Etsy are around £25 and yet following the general advised pricing structure, based on costs, that beanie should retail for around £40.
Who wants to pay £40 ($48) for a beanie?
Both of these ladies are talented solo-prenueurs. Jami has lots of great info at her site and on the Internet. She also has a membership program which you should investigate if you are just starting on Etsy. Becca has built a thriving business by carving out a niche in the art world teaching calligraphy. Calligraphy can have a lot of applications for both the Internet and brick-and-mortar stores. I highly recommend to anyone who wants to sell their crafts online to be sure and find out what these two have to offer. You won't be disappointed.
Thanks for this video, I've been struggling to get my listings seen on etsy for a while now
This is so so helpful! I can not thank enough.
My experience: It takes a bit longer to set up an Etsy shop than one day...It is a lot of work before you launch:)
I live in Los Angeles California and the only thing holding me back from starting an Etsy shop is the business license. I’m so confused if I need a dba and business licenses before I start selling on Etsy
Thank you for all the tips! Just started my store a couple of days ago, BudgetingStudent, and hoping for my first sale soon! Found selling digital printable items, worked for me since Im located in Norway 🤩
Hi Anny! I sell printables as well and I absolutely love it! :) What do you sell exactly? I sell printable wall art and digital planners!
I say uline for boxes, not Amazon. Twice the price, I swear they are the same product, they buy from a place like uline, then sell it Amazon. To save on shipping with uline buy more then one type of product. The shipping does not go up much after the first item. And they use ups, not the "bad leave your order in the lobby/porch " shipping complain.
This interview is so helpful! I started my Etsy shop a few months ago and have learned so much from it already. Thank you for your tips!
Thank you so much! 😍
I'm a perfectionist too. TY for addressing this error. I'm going to take pictures and go and figure it out 😉😇🌷
I do find shopify a lot easier to scale . Then sell the shop for big $$$$$. Have sold 3 stores in the last 12 months . Can you sell Etsy stores for massive roi?
I'd like to sell my Shopify store can you help?
Wow ur doing amazing well. Congratulations
How would you sell completely different things, would you sell on the same shop or have separate shops? I sell fibre art but want to start making resin pieces too
Glad I found your channel. Great tips for Etsy. I have a small shop with lots of room for growth.
So happy to help!!!! :)
47 million visitors a month - blimey. 😱 so huge 😊
I'm researching Etsy in a view to opening a shop with them next year 😊 il be "hoping" to sell my original artwork 😊
I've been calculating my prices and though it's difficult, I need to be a little profitable and so so yes I agree with you Becca when you said "wouldn't people find it better to sell less for more" basically as its quality - and that's what I'm going for. And putting a lot of effort into my packaging I create myself too.
Thank you so much for all your help and advice 😊
Such much value. Thanks for sharing!
So generous of you guy’s to share 🙏
I want to start a business but idk what 😭
Hi Amanda! Is there any hobby you enjoy doing or something you enjoy making?
why I have not sale any thing from Easy
Hi there! What do you sell? Maybe I can give some tips? :)
Thank you for being so candid and frank with your presentation
Thanks. How to do listing on etsy.
When I first watched this, I was thinking "this is freaking long VDO. who would have listened to the whole thing?"...Well, it turned out that was me! This is packed with useful and practical information. It is quite thorough. Being a new beginner on Etsy journey, I do appreciate it a lot. Thanks!
Paid
Hi from Connie in Oklahoma!
Totally agree on pricing. There is so much variation on quality on hand made items on Etsy, people will still look for quality. I imagine pricing somewhere in the middle of your market is probably good to start. That way you could also offer a temporary discount to get some initial sales for short period to get reviews etc. Then stay where it is still profitable. Great video!
Awesome advice!
Just an FYI on shipping international. I started selling a month ago and stayed away from international shipping, but I had a follower on twitter that was interested in buying 2 of my items. I took a chance because she was really interested, and wanted to help me out. I told her if the items arrived damaged, she wound't have to reimburse me for the shipping costs. I sent the items to Hong Kong on 1/7 (the post office was no help whatsoever, you're lucky if you get a good morning from them). It cost me $23.50 to ship the items (1.8oz), and never thought she would receive them. It took less than 2 weeks for her to receive the items, they arrived intact on 1/16 (they were ceramic salt and pepper shakers). I will not hesitate now to send items international, but I would request payment in advance for shipping costs.
If you're on Facebook and you want a ,marketplace to see the items you want to sell you need to go on FACEBOOK MARKETPLACE not just regular Facebook.
Very good information, thank you very much. Also, thank you for say niche (rhymes with quiche) and not nitch.
I just started my store with Etsy and I’m confused about is the shipping. You think is better to let Etsy handle the shipping or myself? How l start that? They are asking me for the weight, that means that I need to buy a letter scale from staples or whatever
Hello
I'm so confused about permits, licensing, taxes, it stresses me out aahhh
I have really enjoyed watching this video! I have never used etsy but I've heard about it and I have some entrepreneurial ideas mostly in planners and possibly some other types of fan related merchandise but I'm definitely in the beginning stages of conceptual ideas and design but this is a good Outlet I might use once I get to the next stage! In the meantime, I will definitely become a customer and see what's out there!
Thank you ❤
My fear is the shipping cost.
Me too.
Hi from Southeast Texas USA
I have never met helpful people, quite the opposite.
I thought Etsy figured out the shipping?
I worry about shipping in Canada.
Cool insight..thanks gorgeous ladies.
Hi, you said it is .20 per item if you have multiple of the same item do you get charged for each one
You dont, only for the listing, not per item
