    Etsy *would* say add more products. It’s their 5c per month per product added. 💸

    I am agreeing with a lot of your advice but not on the shadows in photography - for me this is what makes my handmade garments look real - I can't stand that polished catalogue look with glaring fake light on them.

    • @Tizzitco
      @Tizzitco  5 років тому +1

      Rara Matthews yes great point! I think this is definitely something that needs to be judged “case by case” or for each picture/type of craft. Removing entirely the shadows on a picture can give that fake look and make the product look like it’s floating which isn’t great. On the other hand, strong harsh shadows are also an issue unless done very professionally to add to the mood of the pictures if it matches the brand. Bottom line is... we all need to be thinking twice about our shadows and control then when taking the shot to make sure they are the way we want them to be - purposefully. Too many makers don’t consider them at all and (that’s the worst!) they end up being inconsistent with each picture different to the next :-) consistency is always key in branding and photography

      I agree with you. I do hang out with photographers and in photography forums for years. I do photography too. One of the things that itch me most is that perfect polished look I often see with fellow photographers work.

    i had standard professional images and they did well, next i tried some artistic darker mysterious images and that single product went skyrocket it tripled in sale but its all against the guidelines for a proper picture haha so its not always the right.

    • @Tizzitco
      @Tizzitco  5 років тому +2

      Absolutely, and that's a very interesting point. As long as your pictures look professional, you can experiment to find what works best for your brand and customers. Some sellers are very successful with bright and colorful backgrounds, other with wood-like backgrounds, etc. But when it doubt and not sure where to start, starting with a 'classic' white background shot is not a bad idea ;-) Then we can experiment from there.

    • @raramatthews3911

      I agree with you - if you're selling something artsy it is good to have an artsy myserious look as you say - he people who are buying these are more appreciative of that style I have found.

    Hi! Just subscribed. We're starting an accessories "store" for 1:6 scale action figures. Pricing, and especially promotion, are a bit daunting. Your video mentions a "price calculator", but I don't see one explicitly labeled as such in the links you've provided. What am I not seeing? Thanks!

    Hi excellent video! Question is the name of store the same as the brand we want to have or the brand has to be the same name of the store ? Thanks

    • @WildandGrowing
      @WildandGrowing 4 роки тому +1

      I would make sure your brand and your store name are in alignment. They should be the same thing. If you want to have different categories with special names you can distinguish that from your shop name. EX: "boyfriend jeans" are a type of jeans sold at Abercrombie but the brand and store name are still Abercrombie.

    Great vid! I have been skeptical about using Pinterest because I don't want people taking my ideas or designs instead of buying. I know nothing is truly original but do you have any advice?

    • @SandraDi
      @SandraDi 3 роки тому +1

      Hi there! I highly recommend Pinterest for your shop. It drives so much traffic to mine and has made a huge difference. I think as small businesses, we always run the risk of other people copying our stuff but I always say they can't beat the original! lol Have you tried using Pinterest yet?

      What you need is a camera with medium sized sensor and you shall be able to attach them to tripod.
      Even though I am usually critical of micro four third cameras in your case they make most sense. Check out m43 cameras from Panasonic since they excel on videos too and many pro photographers use them too for it.

      I do too, I've recently started hiring brand reps to take better quality photos for me. Brand reps and customers send me photos of my product in action and those really help. I have a video on brand reps too if you have any questions.
