I might be 2 years behind but I need to mention how helpful this video has been. It has enlightened me on so many new ideas, and it's videos like these which help me to increase the amount of marks I get in the exams. I'm taking my GCSEs this year and I'm so happy I managed to come across this before my exams.
A bit late to this video, but a big thank you for all the hard work that you put into your videos!!! As a student aiming for Grade 9 and taking English Lit for A-level, you have really helped me to solidify my knowledge and confirm my love for English Lit. Your videos are a miracle to all GCSE students!!!!!
Hi Mr Knight, I don't usually comment on UA-cam videos but I would like to thank you for the amazing videos that you create and I am immensely grateful for the time and effort that you put into these videos that are packed full with quotations and great analysis. I just got back my English literature mock - Macbeth and ACC - and managed to get 45/64, a grade 7, ACC being the stronger essay mainly thanks to your videos. Some of the analysis you do makes me ask myself how these videos are free! They are just too good! Thanks again!
This is legitimately one of the nicest comments I've read for a while - thank you for taking the time to write it! I'm happy to hear I've been able to help you out in some small way, and thank you for giving me the motivation to crack on with another video! 😊
Hey, just wanted to say that you've been a massive help with my revision! I have been revising off of your videos and my essay on family relationships got almost full marks! Thank you so much for the time and effort- it really means a lot for many students :)
As another interpretation for 'swear not by the moon th' inconstant moon' could it be suggested that Romeo is being lustful and therefore juvenile and Juliet is rejecting this and wants a serious relationship, as she is after all the one who first proposes marriage.
Shakespeare chooses to present love as a complex emotion to contrast typical romantic love stories of the Elizabethan time and instead leave his audience questioning love near the end. The death of the lovers at the end of the play alongside the now forgiven families was intentional to suggest with love, confict arises and in order to overcome this conflict, a sacrifice is needed. my introduction, any feeback? 😊
I think Shakespeare presents love as such as complex emotion because well it is isn't it? He disregards these cliche love stereotypes and is much more realistic about love and what it endures this is shown as you say at the start. And it shows that it can be so unstable if love is not controlled and can turn from good to bad very quickly.
Bit of an open question, my bad! Do you prefer this presentation of love over a more clichéd one? With such a complex depiction of love in the play, how do you feel about the tragic romance shared between R+J? No pressure to reply immediately - but hopefully these questions might stimulate some interesting ideas for you 😊
@@DystopiaJunkie I believe its a good way to present love it's not always going to be happy and can drive many people to suicide it is a good representation of what it is its a complex emotion you know and as an audience member it really does shock me but, somehow I just love it 😂 Also noo noo it was me been a dummy! Appreciate it 😂
So many people have wanted to be different by not liking Romero and Juliet but instead liking stuff like Jack and Sally, Bonnie and Clyde etc that they’ve actually just ended up like everyone else, which actually makes you stand out as unique more if you like Romeo and Juliet, since the popular thing is to like other edgier stuff. Even though for the time Romeo and Juliet WAS edgy haha.

An answer to your question could be so that we learn the importance of love and the effect that it can have on others.

You're not wrong! As an audience member, how does this influence how you feel about the play?
@@DystopiaJunkie I'm not too sure 🤔

That's the plan! Themes and characters 😊
