watching this the day before my Romeo and Juilet exam, all of your ideas are so perceptive and will definitely help with getting the highest marks!! I feel so much more confident after watching this. Love your videos , keep up the amazing work
It's also interesting with the comparison between Friar Lawrence and the Nurse (both calling Paris/Romeo 'wax') that they can be seen as parallel characters too! Where the Nurse is positioned as a supportive figure for Juliet, the friar fulfils this role for Romeo - all of the characters have parallel characters like this. e.g. Romeo has Juliet, Lord Capulet lord Montague, etc.
Watching this during my morning poo before my exam has done barely any revision for this one and I an pretty worried but I hope your videos can get me through this sir
The mention of stars during scenes like when r&J die brings us back to the fact that they are star crossed (there relationship is doomed to die). This also links to fate as in shake spears times people believed if your fate was written in the stars it was doomed to happen
Mr Bruff, would you have any videos on context for Macbeth, A christmas carol, and An inspector calls. As those are the books I'm studying for gcse, and I can't find them in your playlists
It's true we don't see Lady Montague, but she is mentioned: "Alas, my liege, my wife is dead to-night; Grief of my son's exile hath stopp'd her breath:" My point is that the nurse is absent with no explanation.
It appears that Eduqas doesn't assess context for the Shakespeare question (pastpapers.download.wjec.co.uk/S22/s22-C722U10-A-ms.pdf) so if that's the case, ignore all points on context and the rest will apply.

Yes I agree- I explore the idea of surrogate parents in my character analysis videos on the friar and the nurse.

Yes. For the most part, points on context are built into the general videos I have on these texts. I have playlists on each you've mentioned.

Also, at the end of the play we don't see Lady Montague either which suggests she may have passed away due to shock. Just thought I should mention :)
