Thumbs up, well said. Now if all the other key influencers would stop praising them and misleading people. I mean there are guys like Linus who fully admit all the razers he bought for himself and people at the office have failed, but he still keeps praising them over and over.

@@ConsumerTechReview Do you want them to pretend there are problems with their units when there aren't any? I have 2 razer blade laptops, a 15 2070 and the 17 3080 and no faults with either of them. I've been running the 15 for over 2 years. Never had a single problem.

@@WarneysWorld @Consumer Tech Review Given that *most* tech reviewers only have media test units, and not units that are purchased for long term usage with their own money, it's not surprising that they don't see the same level of issues as any longer term owners do. I've personally had 7 various Blade laptops (2 x Blade 14s, 3 Blade 15s and 2 Blade Pro 17s), and of those, only 3 machines were technically flawless. The two Blade 14s were both solid, my first Blade 15 lost it's on-board mic within the first month and the on-board webcam 6 months later (replaced by Razer under warranty, but I was without the machine for 4+ weeks). The replacement Blade 15 was solid. I then upgraded to a Blade 15 with 2070 Max-Q, which had stuck pixels right from the store, and was thus returned to Microsoft. I switched to a Blade Pro 17, which also had stuck pixels and bent pins in the power port, so that was replaced on-site at the Microsoft store. My current Blade Pro 17 (2080 Max Q, 240 Hz FHD display) was solid for 11 months, and then developed the standard "spicy pillow". When I opened a case with Razer, they acknowledged the RMA, but then ignored all of my follow-up inquiries as to when / how to ship it for repair / replacement, and closed the ticket on me without ever notifying me. Since then, that same laptop has developed three small black lines near the bottom of the display. This laptop is currently at a repair facility in Kentucky (Microsoft extended warranty partner AMT). I really wanted the new Blade 15 Adv with 240 Hz QHD and RTX 3080, but I just cannot give any more money to Razer given these issues.

@@PatrickButhmann Granted, it sounds like you've been unlucky, but the inference was that tech channels have somehow been misleading people. I had to return 2 Acer Predator Tritons and an Asus Zephyrus because of serious defects but I don't make the same video over and over again bashing them. I know that there are thousands of happy Acer and Asus customers out there and that defects happen to all brands.

@@WarneysWorld I think the issue for a number of consumers is that it's not unsurprising to have products with occasional technical flaws or production flaws in them, particularly when it's a device that pushes the boundaries of traditional size / performance / heat dissipation expectations. The challenge comes from the level of support that Razer offers (or doesn't as the case may be). I was always comfortable with my previous Razer Blades, as they were primarily purchased at the local Microsoft Store, and they had a phenomenal warranty / exchange program (ie, anything wrong, bring it in, swap it for a brand new one, even next-gen!). Since the stores have closed, it's now a case of having to go through their call center, justify what's wrong with the laptop, and hope that their technicians can fix it after you send it to them. I also think that if Razer technical support was more responsive and reliable on these issues, then people would have a lot fewer concerns about purchasing them. It's as though Razer's primary goal is to sell laptops, and not to ever guarantee or support them. No manufacturer ever loves supporting products post-sale, but brand loyalty is generally earned through the after-sale support, and not through the up-front sales process. Apple clearly understands this, and has earned a solid brand loyalty score as a result. If Razer stood by their products with the same passion that they demonstrate in designing their products, then I would remain a loyal Razer user. I also don' t dispute that Acer, Apple, Asus, Dell, Lenovo and others have similar quality control issues in their product lines. It may be more prevalent, or it may be less for each of them. I do know that every Apple, Dell and Lenovo I've ever owned has been well supported by the companies, both inside and outside of warranty. I just wish I could say that Razer treated me similarly. It's unfortunate that the people who get support from Razer are those with 40K followers on YT, and not just the people who have spent a couple of grand on a laptop (or north of $25K, in my case).

I wish I saw this 2 years ago. I also had a really bad experience with Razer and I've sent it for repair. All they did was formatted it, even though they took my laptop for a whole month and I've given up on customer support. The only reason I still have it is because it was so expensive so I'm trying to put it to good use since it can play games decently as a laptop. But I can't even detect my seagate on it after it crashed, and I can't zoom call with terrible noise, and I can't stream without terrible noise.

Razer Blade 15 (RTX-2070 Max-Q) is my first true-gaming laptop. It will also be the last laptop I buy from Razer.
I owned several laptops in the past, including Macbooks, and NONE of them had bulging batteries.
And with this Razer, the battery started to bulge within an YEAR (exactly like what this reviewer mentioned)
It's so bad that I had to remove it so that my mouse pad could click again.
My brother kept telling me to buy Asus/MSI before I made the choice
But because I was drawn to Razer's industrial design, I ended up with this
    But, never again.
(Worst yet, you can't really buy replacement batteries yourself. You have to either send the unit back, or buy some oem batteries online. Just HORRIBLE)
Right now I am using it without a battery. I will try to milk the last ounce of value out of this machine, then recycle it and move on with another more trusted brand

I have had really bad experience with razer. Currently I have a Razer Blade Pro 17(2017) When I bought this laptop, after a few months I noticed some dead pixel on the panel. Made a complaint to razer, sent it for repair Came Back after about 3 weeks. Guess what the new display on the laptop was even more crappy. It was a new replaced display but it had some dead pixels and washed out colors. Made a complaint again. Sent it back after 3 weeks got it back. LOL AND GUSS WHAT. The replaced display was TOTALY bad. The screen was flickering with white & black lines going every where. Both repair times the laptop came with a stamped letter from Razer saying that the laptop was repaired and heavily tested and it passed the quality check. I mean REALLY razer
Made a complaint again for the 3rd time. Then they offered me a refurbished Razer Blade pro 17 as a replacement. I mean this is how bad their customer support and Repair/replacement is.
I don't know if anyone else had a better experience but mine was really bad.
So I got the new replacement and after about 3-4 months I had the same battery problem. The battery started expanding and the bottom panel was also arched. I had to get a new battery. Lol and this new battery is from Razer. It charges and everything but it does not show how much % is remaining. it just shows that the laptop is running on battery and unknow % is remaining.

I have a razer blade 15 advanced model (2018) with GTX 1070 Max-Q 4K display touchscreen and here are my problems with it:
    1. Battery bloated and already removed it so it won’t harm other components of the motherboard
    2. Built-in camera no longer works together with the mic
    3. Razer logo no longer lights up
    4. When I play games the cpu reaches 90c
    5. Everytime I turn on the laptop it shuts down abnormally 3x before it gets to the boot up screen
Tip: just search any of the issues mentioned above in Google you’ll see that I’m not the only one and razer support is trash.

I have a 2019 Razer Blade 15 Advanced with the 2070 and 144hz display. When I got the laptop a couple years ago it had no OS on it. Like at all. I had to call Razer and have them walk me though putting windows on the computer or at least restoring it or something. I also had the battery expanding issue about a year in, although I just bit the bullet and bought a replacement battery off of Amazon last summer and its been fine ever since. I do a lot of gaming on it and it used to get HOT.
Mine has similar fitment issues but that doesnt really matter that much to me as its not noticeable at all and actually helps me open it a little easier lol. This is my main PC though, I threw a 2tb Samsung EVO ssd in it with 64gb of ram and a wifi 6 card. Its a little beast, and after undervolting it it actually stays pretty cool all things considered. 85~ degrees under max load. Honestly, I'd say I've had a great experience with it. The only other thing is that my camera no longer works. Although I'm fairly certain thats my fault. I covered it with electrical tape for over a year and I'm almost positive the juice from the electrical tape got inside the lense and fogged it up. But hey, it was a shitty camera anyway. Hopefully in a few years when I'm ready to buy a new computer Razer has upped their quality control and engineering. But I still love my Blade 15. It is what it is.

All issues below are out of the box.
1st one arrived with a blown right speaker, Bluetooth issues, and bad alignment from screen to body (screen lipped over on the right side) so I sent it back and got another one
2nd one arrived with dead pixels throughout the screen, sent back for replacement
3rd one has arrived and it glitches, it freezes, it sometimes refuses to connect to my monitor, videos lag, at times my mouse lags, and the touch pad double clicked (as to sound from the touch pad) instead of one click when pressing down on it.
DO NOT BUY, hands down the worse quality control from a company, its a shame because I wanted it to work so badly hence why I tried so many times. Best looking laptops on the market but they just don't work. Also heat management is very bad. Very upsetting considering how much they cost.

Hey bro, keep up the good wok. Thanks for highlighting my comment in your new speakers video. I wanted to say that Razer doesn't only suck at laptops but their peripherals as well. At least they were terrible when I spent $150 on their keyboard. I think it was Razer Ultimate some kind of Edition but that was in past back in late 2014 or early 2015. It was when they switched to their own switches. . within few months I started having issues with the keyboard. It was frustrating... same thing actually happened to my friend's mouse but it lasted a "WHOLE" half a year .I'm never buying a Razer product again. They're great at first but then you see their true colors fast. It's funny a how a $50 and a $35 mechanical keyboards work for SO MUCH longer... I just customized em bit with different key caps and O-rings and replaced the Outemu switches and have had em for a good while.. I am speaking of Redragon K578 and K552 TKL RGB version BTW K578 has exact same RGB ability to customize every button... not sure why they didn't include that.. (in case anyone with K578 didn't know that) never used their pointless RGB software. Anyways I got off topic but I never spent more than $80 on a mechanical keyboard since and funny enough most never had issues.. the ones that did were tiny ones that didn't bother me. I also had $150 Logitech keyboard and it was even worse than Razer Ultimate keyboard but I was able to replace it at Microcenter sine it hasn't been a month since that keyboard had issues. I also don't remember the name because it's been so many years but it was after Razer keyboard.. it was gonna be a replacement I got Logitech G430 with Romer-G switches which was a $70 keyboard.. sure no RGB but really good keyboard if you like Romer-G switches and had it for few years with 0 issues until my cat spilled coffee on it.. I I took it apart, cleaned it, let it dry for few months and 4 of the important keys didn't work :( I just wanted to say, guys stay away from Razer. Their products are awesome at first but you will quickly find out, you just wasted your money.. unless you're a lucky one somehow. There are tons of other brands, even cheaper barely known brands like Redragon (people don't usually look for Redragon mechanical keyboards when they need a new one or replace the old one) which are so MUCH MORE reliable. Goodluck to everyone that recently bought Razer things. Hope you get lucky! BTW Logitech makes great mouse if you're willing to spend around $50 - $60 or more. Thanks for the honest review Consumer Tech Review. We appreciate that. Keep it up! I love your videos.

My MBP 15" was 3 years old when battery started to expand barely, just so much to expand the bottom plate a bit and they replaced the whole top with keyboard, touchpad, touchbar and battery for free. So yeah... and Razer just trashed "old" mice on Macs, because synapse 3 does not have a version for Mac and synapse 2 stopped working in Big Sur...
I think we need to start voting with our wallets for better quality and stop buying Razer products for a while, until they improve on what they do. Like, my Naga 1st edition still works great, while later versions bricked for no apparent reasons (already on my 3rd naga (trinity)), while the 1st still works and got it's switches changed recently

I’ve had a 2020 blade 15 Advanced 2080 super, 4K oled for a year now and so far it’s been sick. Nasty boi with the computations and such. Much power. Zero quality control issues EXCEPT with whoever the supplier is for the oled screen. (Believe that to be Samsung)
The screen has actually taking 1/5 of a shit.. like 1/5 of it is tripping, creating designs of different colored lines all on its own. It is being fixed through warranty though. Even if that wasn’t the case I also have Razer care - because who buys a 2K+ laptop from a shop that just started making laptops without getting insurance?
I mean even with my Apple products AppleCare is a must. You CANNOT trust machines ladies & gents.
To be honest it do be getting mega hot because the chasis is a heatsink and battery life is a joke compared to macs but that’s what you get when you want a super powered gpu & cpu in a thin chasis that doesn’t look like a bloated, vent covered joke
Their support people need to work as a more cohesive team though.. that being said they upgraded the support teams recently so growing pains be painful.. to us all.
To conclude this unrequited review, I wish Razer the best in this business and gaining market share through delivering awesome experiences to customers even when their batteries put on a few too many inches. Because without them the Microsoft side of computing has almost NO SAUCE, Apple products would have a monopoly on all of the sauce. Razer is the Microsoft crowd’s best chance at being “cool”, literally every other brand is mostly cringe and I, for one, do not want to have to buy only Apple PCs because every other PC is a plastic, built to a budget, flimsy, uninspiring, NPC owned, disposable, piece of unmemorable… tech 😇

I am sorry, I usually only to share positive comments, but this video just sounds like one big whine. Such a small form factor with so much power is likely to have issues. If you wanted piece of mind, you should have bought the extended warranty, or, yes or, buy from an established company with a better reputation. Razer had a reputation prior to the date of your purchase. You good sir made the conscious decision to purchase, because you wanted the build quality or whatever reason. They are expensive kit, thus makes sense to opt for the warranty, unless you are confident in their service reputation (apple etc.). You flexing your influence status to get help when you are out of warranty, that is poor form. Just my two cents. I have a great deal of respect for creators who have the courage, skill and commitment to post content on UA-cam, but this is one of the worst videos I have seen in a long time, just upset me to watch and listen to your tone of voice; very immature.

I bought the latest razer 2020 laptop model with the 3080; only had it for 6 months and the GPU stopped working out of the blue. I sent it back to Razer and they made up a BS excuse that the motherboard failed which doesn't make sense since the laptop actually works, just not the Nvidia GPU. I am now fighting to get a refund instead of a replacement from them. There is no guarantee the same issue won't pop up in the replacement laptop especially after the warranty expires.
EDIT: This is my first and will be my last Razer laptop.

So I am rocking a Blade 2021 and I really like it but you are right - Razer makes a lot of trade-offs to pack crazy powerful hardware in what is literally the size of a MacBook Pro. The aluminum chassis looks very sexy but it doesn't allow air flow left and right which is what most manufacturers leverage heavily. The entire airflow comes from the fans above the keyboard - which only has little space for airflow. And two large fans that stream air to the downside - so if you don't use a laptop stand, the Blade will get very hot because all the hot air literally get downstreamed onto your table.

I've been scrolling through a lot of youtube reviews and most of them seem to have a lot of good things to say about this laptop. Currently I'm using a macbook pro which has been around for about 7years and still running properly. Performance dropped over the years but that is expected from a laptop this old :D I try to buy all my tech for the long run. Spending about 2500-3K or more on a laptop that wont get you through the first 1-2years... I can't justify a spending like that :D

NEVER buying Razer again. I needed one for work because it had a beefy GPU. You can tell Razer is 2nd-rate company that makes bush league laptops:
    1) Wanted me to get my bank on a 3-way call before they would sell me a laptop so I bought it through amazon (seriously, who does this??)
    2) has no easy way to know what model you're running. They are on their 5th 'Razer Blade 15' and it goes by the year, oh wait but there are 2019 Advanced Model and Base, oh wait bue there is 'Late 2019' also. Such a mess
    3) Want to restore the system. No easy way to get their install media on their website
    4) Want to install drivers from their website, you have LITERALLY download a pdf from each of the files you want and click a link IN THE PDF to get the driver
    5) Forums are plagued with people talking about needing to undervolt their laptops, why does this have to be a thing? Why are they oveheating so much. Why can I install Retail windows 10 and just have it work? Because the 'engineers' that they found off craigslist over at Razer decided to use Synapse to do all the cpu/gpu tuning but Synapse is such a POS that some people swear yo uneed it installed and some say you need it uninstalled. Oh it also doesn't keep some settings.
    6) Already had Wifi card replaced
    7) Oh did I 'mention its hot on your lap and the fan runs all the time?
    8) Support is HORRIBLE
For anyone out there CONSIDERING this shitty company, look at their support site (even they tell you 'how to keep it running at the proper operating temperature'; even they know it's a problem; what company needs to do this?), the CONSISTENT VERY COMMON complaints in the forums (heck even on this page, just read below) you see over and over, THEN spend your money on a custom made desktop, suppress your desire to game on the go (or just use cloud gaming) and get a business-grade laptop from Lenovo that is used by millions of people to actually get shit done rather than a company that would rather spend 10 million dollars trying to get green usb ports than make a reliable freaken laptop.

Overview of what Razer Customer Service is like.
    Here is what happened:
    1) Bought a Razer headset from AUTHORIZED retailer.
    2) Well within the warranty timeframe. Headset malfunctions because of Razer's poor quality of materials. Requested replacement from Razer.
    3) Want to call them or live chat with them, they insist on doing it over email.
    4) Razer does not honor warranty and tries to blame the customer even though it is Razer's fault.
    5) We file a complaint on Better Business Bureau, still gives an unsatisfactory response. Note that they responded really slowly (towards the end of their timeframe to respond).
    6) We ask how Razer concluded that the malfunctioning headset was customer induced. Razer does not respond in time and leaves our Better Business Bureau case unresolved.
Overall: They will slow down RMA process (by unprofessionally do everything over email) and make random conclusions just to avoid honoring their warranty. They won't replace it even after complaining multiple times. WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER! TOTALLY UNACCEPTABLE. Have been a loyal customer before. My friends and I will never buy Razer products again.
