Desktop replacements are awesome. For years I traveled as a contractor and it was nice to be able to have one computer that I could use everywhere. You don't have to worry about synchronizing files. All you do is make sure things get backed up and your golden. It really is worth the additional cost.
I know this video was scheduled to go out at a specific time but it's funny to imagine the LTT juggernaut just pushing through what happened today :D

@@stringstorm It's frankly an inevitability once you are a well known brand, it will happen sooner or later. You can sort of avoid it by making it more annoying then rewarding to dissuade the common folk, but if someone wants in enough...they will get in. The best you can hope for is preventing it for as long as possible and having a plan in place for recovery after it happens.

I have the i9-13980X version and it’s an absolute beast. I love it. I upgraded from the 3080Ti Blade 17 and the performance increase is definitely noticeable, to the tune of at least 20% more (I’m being conservative) in MWII.
BTW, both USB-C ports output to DP, and that’s what I use for my external monitor (the port on the left side of the laptop.
I agree that the keyboard is meh, but it’s not horrible. I’m usually on an external keyboard anyway.
Lastly, my dbrand skin delivered a few days ago, they’re my go to laptop skin.

@@harbl99 Yeah, but does anyone actually care about Razer laptops in 2023? They're behind in innovation. Their build quality has always been absolute garbage-tier. Their customer support is infamously useless. If LMG can't get proper support for their fleet of Razer Blades that all suffered from QC issues, then none of us normal customers can.
Maybe they can re-negotiate the sponsor spot. They sorely need it! Hehe!
The mouse accuracy tip - if you really care about mouse accuracy look for the markc mouse fix and install the registry entry for your window scale to get pure 1:1 movement. This fix DOES require cursor precision to be left ON, because the pointer curve applied by this registry key is a cursor precision setting.
Suddenly, linus insisting on keeping his archive of every video you've ever made doesn't seem so insane anymore.

The last gaming laptop I had was the Asus ROG Strix…and it made this thing look like a tic-tac. It was amazing for the 5years I had it. I paid 5500 for it and it was fine performance wise for a long long time.

@@jcreel234The LTT and TechQuickie channels got hacked and subsequently started advertising scam stuff, so youtube disabled them both to prevent any further things from happening. Pretty sure it isn't at the fault of anyone on the LMG team, and is due to vulnerabilities in google software associated with the affected channels.

The European keyboard layouts feature full size arrow keys btw, its only layouts with big shifts that doesnt have it
You almost HAVE to have a laptop stand/riser/cooling pad with these things. I had the Blade 15 with a 2070 in it and after getting just a basic cooling pad, the fan noise was much more tolerable.
The camera shake when dropping the laptop after talking about weight was great. The LMG editing has been rocking it!

Although I was all for desktop replacements 3 or 4 years ago, to just have my gaming on the go, with the advent of the Steam Deck and all those portable gaming devices, I don't see the use anymore. The only use I can see is for heavy graphics/videos producers/editors on the go but it's very very very niche.

As a 'desktop replacement', i would love for you to show what a similar performing desktop would cost, including screen with same specs etc.
I understand the design pretty well, as I need a desktop replacement due to travel necessities, although for that price, I can do much better in other models and brands, with better ergonomics, weight, keyboard, etc. But I’m kind of happy that companies are starting to give this kind of necessity a shot.
Hope Linus and his amazing team gets the channel back and we can talk about this in the future WAN show.

I am traveling a lot and needed a powerful laptop for gaming and video editing, so I got this particular laptop. I agree, at this price range it is hard to recommend, but when looking at the competition (larger and louder), it does stand out pretty well. I love the speakers and the screen, don't love the touchpad (buggy and annoying accidental clicks), the keyboard is meh. the package is pretty impressive though.

Interesting that they decided to include fan on the battery side. My Razer Stealth from 2018 had scary battery bulge after 2 years of use, same story for my friend's Stealth. It was causing random shutdowns and I had to replace the battery by myself. Not to mention that the entire laptop surface felt like grill during moderate use. End up gifted it to my friend as a desktop replacement lol

yep my blade 2019 did the same, on second battery and 2nd set of fans, got a 3 set of fans on the shelf for when these die, it's simple to replace both things, but like WTF

dang, didn't expect to wake up this morning to find out one of the biggest tech channels to be taken down in such a manner. I hope this is a wake up call to not just Google/UA-cam but all big tech platforms to tighten up security and prevent issues like this from occurring. Easier said than done, but once the accounts are compromised the damages can be colossal.

Dude, THANK YOU for mentioning the mouse pointer precision thing, that was driving me bananas for MONTHS.
2:30 Wiring external video ports to the dGPU is definitely not always an advantage. Unless the iGPU is completely gone/disabled (in which case ouch battery life), runtime switching between laptop screen only, external only and/or a mixed scenario introduces stuttering on Windows. Getting it to work on Linux at all is shaky at best. Ideally, manufacturers implement a MUX switch that can be set in the firmware setup so you as a user can choose.

Alex, the ram slot information shown in Task Manager is usually wrong for laptops(and for many desktops too like mine), my moms laptop and my desktop both have 2 ram slots(both populated) but both of them show 2 of 4 slots used for some reason even though 2 of 2 are populated.
Would love to see Razor's customer service tested by LTT secret shoppers. Given their reported history that's always been what's turned me away.
They would fail. The worst part is that you’ll have to use it 100% cause the product is unreliable
Razer is notorious, they are forcing you to buy their product again. In fact, most of my friends that are hardcore Razer moved away to Logitech.
@@AlfaPro1337 very sad because the only issue I had with my 2016 blade stealth was the battery blowing up and them discontinuing replacements after 3 years. I tried to replace in 2020, they just wanted me to buy a new laptop lmao. That and my model apparently was prone to audio IC issues. It served me well but the dual core is showing its age and honestly, it should have come with a quad core in the first place. I'm pretty put off by razer even though mine has been damn near perfect. Replaced with a 23 ROG Zephyrus. 2k cheaper if you count the eGPU and GPU that I bought for my blade.
This. I think the laptop looks cool but I'd never buy it because razer products die so fast. I went through like 3 razer megalodon's before giving up.
Alienware too. Tbh all big companies are cancer. Alienware support literally told me that having 110 celsius on my cpu temp is normal because it's a gaming laptop, despite the fact that I was getting blue screens.
Moved on to custom build laptops, not gonna look back because I have never had a problem with them.

I would love to see a review of anything ryzen 6000/7000 powered without a dGPU, i recently picked up a thinkpad t14 AMD and im shocked how decent it is as a gaming laptop, it outperforms the 1050ti i had before, while getting ultrabook battery life. i think those chips could be the start of a low-midrange gaming laptop revolution.

Careful when buying any razer laptops. I have a Blade 15" from 2020 that I bought for college and the battery is expanding below the trackpad, so I need to find a new battery to replace it since, conveniently, my device is out of warranty. I've seen this happen to multiple other devices online. If you've had this issue and replaced the battery yourself let me know where you found your replacement battery, I'm skeptical of random Amazon listings.

I had nothing but a bad experience with my old Razer Blade Pro late 2016, both in terms of build quality, and CS. Everytime someone talks about buying a laptop, I just steer them away from Razer, they would really need to recover their rep in a major way before I would ever give them another chance. I ended up having to replace the battery in mine, opened it up, and the SSD cooling fan was not even plugged in.
I'm glad this channel is still up. Best wishes to the ltt team, I can't imagine all the revenue lost while the other channels are down. Alot of people depending on it. I'll be buying some lttstore merch and a dbrand skin from the link to try and support . Hope others do too.

The fact that they come with 125 hurts keyboards is crazy you have to use an external keyboard but the thing is that way you can actually change the polling rate on the mouse because without the 125 hurts keyboard you have to keep the mouse at 1000 Hertz

At 5:58 according to those measurements the laptop has a trackpad that is 15x10" and the laptop itself is 18", that is one bigboy trackpad. (measurements should probably be in cm not inch right?) 👍

I feel like large form factor laptops need to become more popular. Using a 17 and 18 inch vs a 15 inch makes a HUGE difference, but the old styles were too heavy, now they can be lighter and more rigid, which actually makes them viable options for more than just ultra-high-end. Just something simple, 120hz 1440p, ryzen 7, rtx 4050, 16 gig ddr5, nvme and 2.5 inch support, a solid backlit keyboard and more usb ports than a 15 inch (please, 3 type A's are not enough). But what I really want to see make a comeback, is HDMI in... Alienware had them on the M17x and M18x and it was amazing! You had a 120hz panel and you can plug your xbox into it, the ethernet to the laptop and connect laptop to the wifi and you can game anywhere you travel to.
I'm really sad about the current situation with the other channels. I hope everything can back to some form of normalcy soon. Blessings and best wishes to everyone on LMG.

Most games get mouse movement data from a lower level interpretation of the mouse input from before Enhance Pointer Precision is applied, and are unaffected. There are however some that do apply EPP, and it's not particularly useful anywhere except if you have a terribly imprecise mouse or hand shake or one of a variety of other disabilities affecting hand movement.

Sending support to you guys at LMG! I’m sure everybody there (as I’m typing this) is running at 110% trying to get everything sorted out and recover the channel(s). UA-cam needs to fix their security issues.
When the Diablo beta was open recently, I dusted of my Razer Nostromo, installed Synapse and the Legacy stuff.. it STILL does daily updates!
At least not every channel at LMG got hacked, I hope the team get the rest of their channels back.

I have the 16" on order. There were a few laptops in my sights, the blades specifically not using liquid metal is why Razer got my money
18 is too big for me, too. $3-5k, naw. I had opted for custom liquid metal on a laptop that didn't come with it. I haven't had any issues the last couple of years, but I basically realize repasting is basically not an option & the gpu was also Grizzly, but not liquid. I definitely prefer the graph??? option. I was maybe too focused on the fact the laptop needs to work on 115F+, when I went liquid.
@@bipbop3121 I travel a *lot* for work though. Can't risk even the slight chance of a 5k Laptop being funk just because my plane landed a bit too harsh. Repasting won't be an option as it's going to be company owned unfortunately
I'd love to see a newer review of the Zephyrus G14. I feel it didn't go as in depth as most of your videos now.
I use a fairly chonky laptop, legion y545. It is my main machine, and while not great on my lap, it is good for using mostly as a desktop replacement, and I can take it with me as well.
My headcanon is that if someone starts humming crabrave at LMG, the entire staff congregates and begins dancing while performing a full acapella rendition of it.
Hopefully we can learn something about security after this. I would love a security week from all the LMG channels
Depending on the method used there is little to nothing they could have done to prevent this.

My biggest nitpick is that, despite the size, you don't a numpad. The thing that I love about Lenovo and Asus, they include numpads on their laptops 15 inches or bigger.
Never use numpad but i really use the keypad often for typing. Hard F on the keys

I've been shopping for a 16 or 17 inch laptop and man, there really arent a lot of great options... 15 seems to be the most popular which is fine but Im used to huge displays I could literally fit two 15 inch displays over my screen and have room left over. Love to see more of these hitting the market, wish the prices werent so insane.
considering 15 is the maximum limit if you want to comfortably backpack a laptop in my opinion.
