Bruh, John Lineker was 12-4 in UFC, and beat several guys CURRENTLY in the top 5 at Bantamweight, as well as multiple former title challengers. He is most certainly not an 'average' UFC fighter, unless 'average' means anybody who simply never won a title.

Average UFC figther is quite a big measurement, if you consider how long most average guys stay in the UFC. To even become the such a well known "average guy" as Cowboy Oliveira or Clay Guida, you see a lot of good fighter come and go. The turnaround is insane, especially in the more stacked divisions. There might be some top 10 fighters outside the UFC, but 23 of the top 25 of every division will sooner or later have a stint in the UFC...

There's 73 bantamweights currently on the UFC roster. An average UFC bantamweight would therefore be the 37th best bantamweight in the UFC. There's no way Lineker meets that description. You can argue all day about whether he would be top 5, top 10, or top 15, but there's no way you can say there are 36 bantamweights in the UFC (or even close to that) better than him.

Clay was coming in on a 3-fight win streak at 23-9 (sure not the best record and never a huge title contender) but Clay was a tough night out at the time for anybody Ontop of having wins over notable names like RDA & Nate Diaz. Plus, Pettis went on a 5- fight win streak after that fight, obtaining the belt and defending it
