      @Gold Rose That is still his wife when they both transformed themselves with the use of the contact lens into their younger looking selves. The only difference is, she made herself blonde bc she thought that is who her husband is attracted to (he cheated with a woman who was blonde). Unless you were asking if the blonde girl in question they were talking about who she was?

    • @demijour1234
      @demijour1234 4 роки тому +18

      @Gold Rose I don't think she made herself look physically like her husbands lover. Just added the blonde hair and blue eyes on herself. I think that would be too emotionally hard for a woman to do to make herself look like her husbands mistress. The whole film had such a sad vibe to it and made growing old seem very lonely and sad. It was really well done though because of that.:)

    • @demijour1234

      @Kurt Barryman Entitled? I don't think women feel entitled here. That would mean we think we are owed special treatment or that we think the world revolves around us in a arrogant way. Here she feels betrayed and feels insecure because of her husband cheating and the trust is gone. Feeling insecure and losing trust is huge for women. As women we often sometimes blame ourselves thinking we did something wrong or that we are no longer good enough for our partner. So there is no feeling of entitlement on how we are perceived, there is feeling of insecurities on how attractive we are now.

      The story was a bit vague on the subject, but maybe the long legged blonde was a former wife that passed away. If she had just been a former lover, I think the present wife would have been more angry, it is hard to compete with a memory. I dont understand simple or shallow people... the more i love someone, the more i find them attractive. More so then when I first met them. I love the way my partner looks, even his flaws. He's not perfect or some unrealistic model. He's put on some weight too. I love and find him extremely attractive and am more drawn to him than any other man... Honestly, I hate simple people, they are a recipe for heart break. I cannot wrap my head around them, always falling out of love for no reason and expecting their partners to never age. I still find other people attractive outside my partner but no body is as special to me as he is. No one makes me flutter in the same way.

  • @raybeaulieu6187
    @raybeaulieu6187 5 років тому +40

    I didn't really like this video, but I did see why I should've liked it. Lol. People don't like reality because it's not always beautiful. We want to see the world, others, and ourselves how we want to be seen. We don't want to face aging because we aren't beautiful anymore. We don't want others to see us as less than perfect. We all want to feel and experience the passion, love and life to make us feel ALIVE...again. When we get old we slowly lose our dignity because we lose our self identity. We're no longer desirable and attractive. We have to accept less from life because we don't have a choice. We are old. We are dying. And there is NOTHING we can do about it. I didn't like this video because I don't want to be reminded of what I've lost by getting old. It really sucks.

    • @miriamrobarts
      @miriamrobarts 5 років тому +13

      The point is to learn to see the beauty of the things that really matter. If they had a loving relationship, looking a little older wouldn't have been a problem.
      If you feel like you're losing your self identity just because your body is getting old, you never really found yourself in the first place. Sure, I've had times when I was missing the way things were, and felt like I just wasn't feeling "myself" at that moment, but when I focus on the good things in my life & what is important, that disconnection dissipates and I find myself again.
      It doesn't matter who you are, how old or young you are, or finances, etc. Life is never going to be the ideal that you have in your dreams. You have to learn to accept reality and learn to be grateful for what you have. When you stop counting the things you don't have, and start counting all the things you do have-is when you find happiness.
      "Beauty is truth, truth beauty,-that is all
      Ye know on earth, and all ye need to know."
      -John Keats
      When you learn to love truth, you see that it is beautiful-even if it has nothing to do with your eyes. True beauty is felt, rather than seen.

      I think that the man is either 65 or 66. Wouldn't you want to be 30 again. Is that a bad thing to want?
      More importantly, wanting what you do not have is how you get it. Many poor people have become rich and many fat people have become thin. We really can make our lives better. For millennia, humans wanted to fly and now we can fly in air planes, hang gliders, drones, in video games, and in virtual reality.
      When this couple wear their lenses, they relive when they were younger. In the woman's case, she changes her hair and eye color. The simulation is convincing and is that bad?

    Back before the "youth culture" of the Sixties, people just took aging in stride. You were born, you grew up, you shouldered the responsibilities of an adult including raising a family, then you got old and died. Now everyone wants to look and act 19 and can't accept the responsibilities of adulthood not to mention acceptance of the aging of our bodies. As soon as this contact lens augmented reality thing is commonplace, probably everyone will project a young, idealized version of themselves. Only people "going bare" will see them for what they really are. All their AR-connected friends will see Ken and Barbie.

    I think having technology like that could have it’s advantage. Not for role play but for making us remember ourselves when we were young as opposed to having to constantly be reminded of it every time we look in the mirror. We cannot stop the eventual progression of old age and death, but at least we can wear these eye glasses and be in our mind’s eye the person we remember we once were, the person that we never wanted to stop being.

    Similar but not the same, My uncle had a stroke in June. The family decided to relocate him from L.A. to Detroit as he has no family in CA. Since he has been living with me, I have hated the experience most of the time. The man is many things and most (not all) are negative. Like this video and the comments below, I find that liking and loving a person makes them more attractive to the average person. In my experience with uncle, I find that me not liking him makes me not want to do for him. But the deep rooted love of family pushes me through. It's weird because I protect him fiercely from harm but everyday I dread doing anything for him beyond basic need. However, as strange as it is to me, I still do nice things that I know he will enjoy. Though I do not share in his delight because i do not like him enough. So I love him enough to want him to have happiness, but i don't like him enough to share that experience? This is the strangest thing I think I have ever gone through. In any event, as much as we are fire and ice, I may miss him as much as I will be relived he is gone when he finally is layed to rest. He turns 70 soon so hopefully, he'll have more years.

      I have been living with both of my parents for 20 years now. I have had to tolerate their negative attitudes towards each other since they divorced 15 years ago. They both are declining in health, so I do what I can to help them, but I find myself wishing that they would both just die and be done with it. I feel guilty about thinking like that, and it makes me sad that the final years of their lives are probably not going to be happy ones for them. But it also makes me glad that I didn’t just blindly follow in their footsteps and lock myself into a toxic relationship. I will be 60 next month, and I probably wouldn’t have made it past 40 if I had tried to do things the way they did.
