Rino Rien - Im pretty sure he swapped them on purpose. He looked closely at each photo next to each other and changed the envelopes. And then he went to the adress himself to check if they met
I adore this film: the photography (film, and still), the story, the music. I love the sepia color, as well. Thank you thank you. This film will stay with me for a long time.
@Roger Eisnaugle - In the Photo - Yes. And that's what intrigued the boy so much. In the final scene the boy gave her a beautiful smile. That's what he wanted all along.
@WeeStrom CO Guy It's still a risky move. I was told to always keep white lights out of the darkroom. If any photogenic photos get caught in the light, they'll turn black. Even when the photos are hanging out to dry it's still a problem. There were strict rules that as long as there was a single photo in that room, the lights had to remain off.
bakersmileyface not sure if that was the problem as the door was open, showing all exposures were done. I think he was berating the kid for doing his own developing with the owners materials.
@@bakersmileyface, how many have you developed? Drying photos are simply drying. That's the way it went when I assisted my older sis in photo processing. Light is no longer an issue at that point. After the developer is done doint its work you rinse the photo and submerge it into a fixing agent solution. Once that is done, one final rinse and out to dry you go.
How I enjoyed this film! It's a beautiful, wholesome story that is marvelously told and filmed. The time period is my grandparents' generation but the authenticity took me back to a time when they told me their stories and showed me their photos. The acting, the music, the sepia-like coloration - all superb. I was very impressed by the way the central characters drew me in - it takes quite a talent to do that in short format. My hat is tipped to everyone involved in its making 👏🏻👏🏻
All of the actors were wonderful. The actor playing Jenny looked so broken hearted when the print was gone. The actor playing Aaron was wonderfully expressive as well. Great cast and production!
I stay home on weekends now, living vicariously through the stories submitted by the talented film makers. And thank you Omeleto for being the date that never stands me up.

What a wonderful story. A great imagination thought this up! The coloring, the mood, the acting, the music are all superb. And the story is truly heart-rending and sweet.
I love the tints. I love the wide shots . I love the photography. Often life offers a smudged painting or photo of what could have been. I love to dream.
You don't need words to depict emotions :) I'd love to see some short film web series from you guys . For one video isn't always enough to tell beautiful stories
CINESTHESIA yeh, before I commented that i was searching if anyone else had said the same thing, but apparently not ahahaha. The resemblance is truly uncanny.
When started watching I got Monsoon Mangos feel to it. Then the director card came up & saw "Abi Varghese". Wonderful, awesome! Love from Kerala! Expecting more projects.
How could this have been here since last year and i didn't see it !??! I thought I'd seen them all. Better go back thru and see if I missed any others. btw, I loved this one
Ah, that brought back memories of my grandfather. No, he's not dead, but I feel pity because nobody in the family cares for him and now they are all discussing the will.
Dear Omeleto the moment i watched your first video , I'm watching next in loop !! Please stop making so beautiful contented addictive videoes and give me some break !! I got a life to live ;)
Stirred up similarities to "The Red Balloon" in a good way. I liked how much was going on in this one without really much dialog at all. Very touching moments with the boy's natural ability as a matchmaker. I feel like more should have happened regarding the business boom that stemmed from the matchmaking. Maybe reference to it after the dismissal? Great cinematography, music and I enjoyed it all.
We live in the time where almost all access to human culture and history is easily accessible. Wanna live out your vintage dreams? Collect whatever it is from that era and use that in your life as an aesthetic and try to embody it.
What a unique and refreshing story? Such wonderfully Acted scenes in this monochromatic setting make you feel this young man's emotions? A spark for love and a hidden joy as he ups one on his nasty employer! I love that his efforts pay off in the end when he is miraculously given the gift back? Every Omeleto film is so wonderful done with the very finest talent of filmmakers and Actors and all the rest involved, you know who you are, and what I mean?
This channel is awesome. I am quite selfless as a person. But stories like this and the cinematography are so rich and precious that I just don't want to share these or recommend to my connections. I just can't

Nice work! I like the "Amélie poulin" feeling... was this filmed in Québec? If so, the smudged adress in the back of the photo reminds me of "sur ma peau" de paul piché (le vidéoclip)
The kid invented Tinder :D
Strangers see photos of eathother and decide to contact one another or not, without knowing much about the person...

The old man's acting is awesome... Don't know why but its just too realistic and now i cant stop feeling sad about that character.
You must not watch a lot of films-the old man was (at best) okay. The others were straight up bad.
Damm same made feel so sad

I can't believe he turned the light on in the darkroom.

I love to dream.
The exquisite music and magic of photography is so beautifully captured here. It reminded me so much of Amelie.
Great film. But what disturbed me was that they used a Polaroid Land 95, which is an instant camera, so there´s no need for a darkroom.
They're playing with moonlight sonata and it's driving me up a wall every time the melody doesn't resolve.
It's also royalty free. :D
