If the roles were reversed and she was real, but lacking warmth due to grief, would you criticise her for being depressed and cool when dealing with a faulty robot?
I've noticed that people do expect reactions from people in life. The sad part is they expect the reactions they want. Now only an Android could please the likes of these people. That's why some people just need to be by themselves.

In the end however, she gets 'unplugged' when his sentence is commuted and the supply ship brings him back to earth, sans girl.
Like many men today...true narcissists that cannot love and will forever want to replace their partners for impossible perfection while they themselves are the most damaged, vapid soulless monsters always so nice at the beginning and surely the mask slips with time into this. Sad but true. This is a film depicting this sad reality.
Wow, someone just got dumped eh? Maybe instead of making gross overgeneralizations about men, maybe look inward. A lot can be said about those people who CHOOSE to repeatedly date such "vapid" narcissists. Take a less shallow approach to your selections perhaps? A man isn't going to be less obsessed with his image or get less joy out of the attention his looks bring because YOU entered his life... THAT is narcissist. 😒
People think this story is about robots or advancing technology. We already have enough of those movies. This is purely existential questioning our own humanity. There are so many of us living this on a daily basis, and with the level of manufactured ignorance out there, oblivion is bliss!
Nice film, but I had it figured out in the first 30 seconds. Since the plot was predictable, a more profound conversation between man and robot wife would have been interesting.
It was done that way on purpose, everyone figured it out quickly, the point of the film was that what would be obvious to any human wasn't obvious to the wife and that's because she wasn't human and didn't realise that she was in fact a robot.
This brings back bad memories of my marriage. Fortunately it only lasted a few years but things were never really swell to begin with. Having a robot version of my ex wife would be a nightmare.

Could you please include the year a short was originally released? While I can understand the potential reasons for wanting to obscure this information, it can also provide very important, sometimes necessary context for the film. Even “timeless classics” are better, more appropriately understood within the context of the time they were produced and released in.
Yes! that and the cast AND crew list!

On that happy note, I have to go on with my day. Well done.
If I was with someone like that, I would walk away and end it.
Yeah, loved this one. It has a Twilight Zone-esque feeling to it.
There was a twilight zone episode almost just like this.
and the "Stepford Wives" movie@@tracymorgan5386
"The Lateness of the Hour" - The Twilight Zone episode 44, originally aired 2 December 1960.
I think his wife committed suicide. He said the robot wife was too emotional and when he came into the kitchen, he changed the weather view from sad rain to happy sunny skies. He said the rain was too depressing. At the end of the story, the new wife was so happy and perky which I guess is what he wanted.
Even if/when the future will advance in such a way, this is so deeply unhealthy..🌧️
It won’t be this way because everyone will be wearing rainbow pendants at the rate we are going.
The future could be as advanced as ever but humankind is disintegrating.
She can’t have any needs. A lot of women hold back and just shut down. Because we are called emotional.
I love that the sparse , dark decor completely reflects the angst of their , incredibly sad , situation . Much food for thought here as this technology is already on the doorstep .
It'll be a tragic turn of events if robots become sentient enough to genuinely love humans - the "LAW" , as it stands , is certainly not equipped for those potential scenarios...
Very cool short Nicole. Our film Absence of the Heart is gaining views as a suggested film from users watching this film.
We honored to be be played along side your film.
Nice work
Lol, from her acting i wasn't surprised when i found out
The writer tipped their hand with the cut on the finger.
it was a bit clumsy
Come on! How can he behaves with her that way! She is so cute ...
Thanks!
the reveal was too early when there was no blood on the hand cut.
good morning I made you coffee....Never heard it once....Pure Fantasy...only in film.
The real question is......which is the robot and which is the human
She has more emotion and wants intimacy while he is both despondent and is distant to her emotions
So many people here who either didn't watch to the end, or just didn't understand that she's NOT a woman - she's a robot, a faulty robot. And he's depressed and disengaged because it's faulty and he's still grieving. If the roles were reversed and she was real, but lacking warmth due to grief, would you criticise her for being depressed and cool when dealing with a faulty robot?
Mini Black Mirror. Absolutely great. So well done🎉
Ever hear of a company called Build a Bear??? Well I'm going to start a company called Build a Wife.
So well-shot and detailed ! The film says a lot about the gendered dynamics within relationships, and I did NOT expect that ending
Life would be much better with a robot wife.
@@nuwanbandara5008 You might as well have a dog instead then. At least sth live. How sad and awful.
Feat of little boys.Their fear of the Other person Fear of the mother, their own creator and destroyer.
I saw that miles away.
Lolwat, it says nothing about gendered dynamics. It's about who's more human.. the robot with emotions or the emotionless human.
I've noticed that people do expect reactions from people in life. The sad part is they expect the reactions they want. Now only an Android could please the likes of these people. That's why some people just need to be by themselves.
"what makes us human? Is it our floors?" Lost me right there
If i will get this type of wife, I will love her every day ❤️
I can't help but wonder if he was as obsessed with work before he began his "project."
why it feels like a darker version of marriage of Howard and Bernadette from big bang theory 😅
This was so sad to watch on so many different perspectives
Indeed, it was...
Everything was great but I could see the twist since the first interaction between them :/
This is giving Black Mirror.
The saddest relationship...
i’m just here to note that the keycard tone complemented the synth-chord progression from 8:42 to 8:45
Wow amazing acting but this is dark and physcological enjoyed it 🥰
loved the hamlet references
Already gave away the 'secret' at the beginning when 'she' cuts herself and there's no bleeding.
So predictable throughout. Underwhelming when considering the stellar company on this channel.
This is a recreation of the Twilight Zone episode “A world of his own”
Re: Devina210 wrote, "It has a Twilight Zone-esque feeling to it." It should. It borrows a bit from Twilight Zone, S1E7. A guy (Jack Warden) is left on a prison planet. The loneliness was unbearable save for a supply ship that came every few months. On one trip however, they bring him an attractive automaton and his life changes.
Not all men are like this, I unfortunately married one but I have friends and family members that are good quality men
Wow, someone just got dumped eh? Maybe instead of making gross overgeneralizations about men, maybe look inward. A lot can be said about those people who CHOOSE to repeatedly date such "vapid" narcissists. Take a less shallow approach to your selections perhaps? A man isn't going to be less obsessed with his image or get less joy out of the attention his looks bring because YOU entered his life... THAT is narcissist. 😒
Hmm relax
It's about a grieving man in denial.
@@jamielandon1273 ikr😂😂
@@niza3470 hmmmmmmmmm... You RELAX!
People think this story is about robots or advancing technology. We already have enough of those movies. This is purely existential questioning our own humanity.
There are so many of us living this on a daily basis, and with the level of manufactured ignorance out there, oblivion is bliss!
Such a clever plot! I love it!
Let's vote ..i want part 2 of this !!!
I knew she was far too beautiful to be a human being
It still doesn't explain where they live if outside conditions need to be dictated
Pretty wild view of our future. Robot spouses for all who desire one. Great movie. Thanks
That was so well done! ❤️
He is the forever lonely one....
The anxious with the dismissive avoidant xx
He seems like the faulty one.
He's grieving his dead wife! Is he not cheerful enough for you?
99% of the comments here are completely wrong. Extremely revealing.
Ah, so she's a synth. Like the synths from the 2014 UK/US show "Humans".
Great job, Omeleto!! Loved it
I'm almost 5 minutes in and I want her to divorce this dude asap.
Great story
Another great one . Thanks Omeleto.
Inability to put anyone before Ourself? 🤔 That's wrong. 😮 Ask a Mother. 🙏
This brings back bad memories of my marriage. Fortunately it only lasted a few years but things were never really swell to begin with. Having a robot version of my ex wife would be a nightmare.
A lonely wife tries to rekindle a dying marriage when she discovers a life-altering omelette.
