$229 for a charcuterie board seems a bit steep. I get that they have to make profit but the target market is clearly people with money to buy these things (hence they mentioned celebrities, athletes, and rich folks).
For catering events it makes sense, normally catering businesses have to assemble these boards on different sources and here it's all at once. Saves time and probably money.
@@orlandorodriguez7235 Where are you buying your ingredients to make a charcuterie of that size for $50?But then again I'm assuming yours is likely smaller. Boarderie's cost to assemble that size is around $100. When I go to Whole Foods, a slice of Brie cheese alone can cost $10. The premium meats for only 10 slices are like $10.

That's why they are desperate to sell direct, they can sell it even at 150 and make a decent profit. You can almost smell the cost of each wheel of cheese, 91 bucks cost total, is 2.75x the cost to give a cut to retailers. Is high end, but not 250 high end
they said, their cost is 130 dollars even after a huge production line facility. they clrealy not stupid and invested a ton in getting those boards as fast and as cheaply made as possible. if its 130 bucks it means its a really good product, some quality cheeses and meats just cant be bought cheap. this boards arent for your avrage joe dinner party. its for people who hold important events and or high end client.
Mark is the real MVP. Lori and others can say whatever BD they want to justify their offers but Lori definitely is a nasty double face shark. But shes entitled to it, she earned that hand.
A common thread in successful Shark Tank products, esp. food products, is differentiating yourself from others, improving on a need (something highly practical), "finger food", better efficiency in making the/a product (to make it investable/ability to scale), and high quality, as people are tired of cr*p. Great product, great people. I have a fantastic food product idea, but I don't have a dollar to invest and I have no friends or family. Further, most people do not have $2 million dollars to invest to start-up a business of any kind.
