I think she needs open wire shelves storage (so that she can see what she has) in the entire room and treats it like a store shelf at Olive Young. New products are in the back and old products are in the front. Also, take everything out of the package. Packaging is bulky especially when things are of different sizes. Everything that is not a bottle/jar can go into the clear bins. She could also use the wooden racks for IKEA that you put plates or pot lids on and put the sheet masks on those instead of in drawers.

100% - I was thinking the same thing! If she needs the boxes for filming or reference, they can be flattened and stored on the bottom. Removing the packaging would make more room in a drawer, but I agree trying a set up similar to a store shelf where she could see the inventory would help. April commented several times, “if you don’t see it, you forget you have it.”

Agreed. I think the drawers make it easy to shove things in and never look at it again. Open shelving for all the skin care is probably best. And maybe the new/current stuff in clear containers, and maybe the Blackstock in not clear containers (still on open shelves) to differentiate them--but still make it easy to see

One idea to help is that she seems to have a lot of family and friends who would love the extras and samples. Maybe a bin or bag where she could put anything she’s done with but it’s still good and then friends and family know they can “shop” anytime they’re at her place.

I think she needs to identify an easy place to donate open skincare products and keep a box in the room to drop "done filming and don't love" into. Maybe even plan a short time once or twice a month to look for things to donate and get out. Decluttering can be done without being a massive project if she makes it a habit.

You two are so fun to watch! Looks like Eunice's organizing style is visual with large macro categories. So open shelving with tiers and clear bins (no lids) are going to be most effective for her. Everything needs to be highly visual and very easy to just set down in its category area on a shelf. This will set her up for the most long term success. Closed drawer units and hidden storage is not practical for a person with this organizing style. Excited to see how the move goes. Best of luck to you both!

At this rate you will have to supervise the homework too 😂 Ye have a great friendship and the fact you can push her to the limit is amazing. The only thing that comes to mind about putting the older stock at the front having small containers that you can rotate. I also think she needs 2 areas (clothes and skincare) with either a bag or box that are for donations so she does it immediately but they have to go every 2 to 3 weeks just to free up the space. Ye did great work and be very proud of that. Have a great week both of you. Mary, Joes wife 👏💪👍🤞🙏💐

Yes, open shelving is a must. Also, separate shelving for personal vs. filming. I believe she had a container full of stuff meant for one video. Keep going with that system. Make a content calendar so that she films the wideos she says she's going to (looking at you, empties ☺️) timely. Once she's done with filming, the products either roll into her personal stash or are exited. In general, find a way to exit more products sooner. Can she do viewer giveaways? More donations?

How does one person go through all that before it expires though?
My initial thoughts would be to have an intake zone that could be organized into video sets, then an absolutely love it/everyday wear/keep area. And anything else can be gifted or donated. Maybe there’s a women’s shelter she could partner with, so even if some items have been opened at least they know it’s from a safe source.

Yeah i had a similar thought. Having baskets for the projects and after they are done she can sort it into stuff she wants to keep and stuff she doesnt.
And idk if its legal but id defenately buy it so: maybe as shes an expert she can make little bundles (f. ex. diff skin types, masks only etc) with the products she dont wanna keep (i think some are not even openend right) and sell them....
Maybe she could donate the profits...
Meh idk but as sheila said she probably has more than she can use 😅

Women’s shelter, yes. This made me think of Jodi Dunn, who I enjoy watching for her decluttering of her house. She has another channel for extreme couponing, so her basement is it sort of inventory station. It might be interesting for you to watch videos of her, organizing it a couple of times a year she takes excess products to a women’s shelter, or has a garage sale and sells the products for very very cheap, in order to recoup a bit of money, and also be a blessing to her community.
It might be fun to look at how she organizes her stock shelves. She sets it up like a store in her basement, and any family or friends, can come and go “shopping” for free at any point if they want to.

Hi April you asked for suggestions so...Eunice could put a label with the date on every item when received to easily declutter old stuff. Amazon has lots of acrylic display risers to increase visibility. Use shelf risers or hangers for the open area above items. When she moves she should get rid of the deep drawers and get more shelves or a shallow drawer unit like Ikea Alex. Love your channels btw!!

Watching this really illustrates the consumption and waste caused by these beauty review channels. I’ve been recently watching another influencer Hannah Louise Poston who is trying to be more mindful of these issues and create content while buying less if anyone is interested. It seems like unless changes are made there then there are always going to be struggles with the amount of products an influencer feels they need for content and it will just always end up being this kind of huge clutter and declutter cycle. Anyway I think closed storage like the drawers aren’t good for this situation. I think she really needs all open shelving and clear bins for everything. And a bins for trash, donation, and recycling so it’s easy to declutter every time she goes in the room.

I had a thought about future empties for 2023. What if Eunice kept 12 gift bags labeled with each month of the year? Then whenever she had an empty skincare container/product, she could put it in the bag for the month she finished it. Then she could do a UA-cam Shorts video for each month at the end of the month or at the end of the year (one for each month).

I just wish I could speak my "second" language as well as Euna speaks English!!!! I would never know it wasn't her first language. Great job cleaning out so much stuff! Seems like she needs custom storage. I am thinking shelving with a low front lip to keep things from falling but making everything visible. (like you see in lower kitchen shelves). She needs those strips you see in stores where they hang products that don't stand on their own. Kind of like a string or strip that has clips that stuff can be attached to. Then she will see all those things that are in piles in the drawer. Wonder if she could use clear separators that have year dates in bold numbers on them so she can see when things will expire. It could be fun to get one of those design products and build a make up storage room for her. The books seem out of place in that room. They should be on a work desk if they are work related or somewhere else if they are just for fun. Not sure why clothes are in there, although her work costumes should stay. What a great improvement in the space just as it is!!!

I haven't read all the comments so hopefully I'm not repeating.... But I'd highly recommend Euni takes Clutterbug's quiz to see what her organising style is. It's really helpful for understanding how to organize so you'll keep systems going. If I had to guess I would say Euni needs highly visual organization (clear bins, open shelving). She also seems to struggle with micro organisation so may find it easier to sort things into more general categories. As others have suggested, setting it up like a shop with rotating stock may work. But she probably needs to set a limit (physical limit) of, for example, if this bin is full, then I can't have more until I get rid of some.

What she needs is a student/intern/part timer to make up a spreadsheet with recieved/tested/expired dates and type/brand categories that she can use to see what needs donating/used before it expires and what she has yet to make videos with. Once it's all cataloged only a little editing is needed to keep up with incoming purchases/gifts. If she has one of these she can go directly to the tub that houses the item to access it.

I agree with what everyone is saying about open shelves and highly visible. In restaurants I worked in, there were always open shelves, and you could slide the product forward when you restocked and always put the new stuff to the back. This ensured that things that were ready to expire were always in the front. Some sort of a rotation system seems important, and then that’s super easy to do.
I like that someone else mentioned having a giveaway section/ shelf for friends and family to shop or to go to a women’s shelter. If new products are always put away to the back, then, when you run out a room, the stuff in the front could just get dumped in a bag and set on a giveaway shelf
    For friends and family?

Wonderful job done. You can see Eunice enjoying her cleared spaces - so she's not someone who just doesn't care one way or another about an over-full space - she does gain satisfaction and calm and joy from her space being organised and pleasing to the eye But, it is a conundrum, as her job is to review product - and she doesn't have a separate work-space for that job - she has that job and her own wardrobe smushed together. It's also crossing that work-life boundary because all the pretty things are already in her own home - I would hazard a guess that if all this stock was kept off-site in a dedicated work space - then not only would she have more room for stock - but she would be far less likely to have items being pulled into her own home. She doesn't have that luxury and it's not an easy situation to try to sort out. Some very clear rules and an sop for how to deal with her stock going forward might help - an area of time carved out religiously on a weekly basis to go through and reorganise and de-stock would have to be part of her routine to even hope to be able to keep ahead of the tsunami of items coming into the home. But, the only way to start - is to get to the new place and then take a good look at what she has and what her new parameters will be - put like with like - declutter and see what space that leaves her with. I, for one, will be watching all the way and enjoying all the fun 😊

It is obvious that she needs a beauty room separate from her clothes closet. Then taller shelves, clear plastic drawers, large ones for big boxes and small ones for small and loose items, Multiple drawers for each category so there wont be anything on Top. But, I think the problem is usage. and assistance. So she needs an assistant. for a limited number of things, maintenance being one. Usage is perhaps solved by a monthly skincare party? usable footage for youtube? tryout parties. 3 or 4 people, specific products. fun, simple. If she wants to keep empty boxes for some reason, just open and flatten them.

I do think that since Eunice is moving she should really consider if there are any old products she should get rid of. If she wasn't moving there wouldn't be that kind urgency. Whenever I move I always get rid of or donate many things. It's just very practical and makes good sense. Otherwise you pay so much more to move those extra items. Just something to consider.

i love this series because it's the most relatable to me as an actor/television assistant/office manager/.... most decluttering videos focus on minimalism but it's just not possible for jobs that require you to have a bunch of looks. I can't just get rid of everything I want because it could be required occasionally. I wouldn't even have a bunch of makeup and haircare if it wasn't required for work. Eunice is the most relatable experience I've found for organizing the workspace/personal appearance.

You guys are fun to watch. But oh boy, the challenge of so much stuff coming in all the time and small space living! I think Eunice would benefit from regular help with keeping up on expiration dates, tidying, and making sure everything goes into its established homes, since slowing the inflow of stuff doesn’t seem possible. I agree with others in the comments that having designated bins for donations, gifts to family, empties, etc might help. And being realistic about her organizing style - very easy to put away seems to be the key. I don’t think she’s going to stack things away neatly in drawers on a daily basis. But that also might mean she’s right about getting rid of stuff - once it’s gone she’ll forget about it, so maybe she could minimize in some areas she loves less.

I'm of the stuffed-drawers-and-shelves persuasion so it was helpful simply to see another's situation...inspired to stay on top of expiration dates at the very least -- reality check, and organizing to rotate current things to the front/top to be used! I look forward to each and every video, finding it relaxing to watch others do the sweat-and-toil parts and coming away from it with more resolve every time. Chipping away at it here on the East Coast today in fact. Thank you both! ...back to it.

I think your favorite clear bins on open shelving would help. Things would be grouped together and visible and less likely to get jumbled together. Also being able to see the volume of product might help remind her to use them before they expire.

I don't know if she needs the boxes for filming, but taking all the products out of their boxes would really cut down on how much space they take. Just a thought! Great job on tackling that space ❤️

Best way and quickest to rotate product is open shelving, think grocery stores and retail. In her new place maybe it’s shelving with doors to hide it.

Ohhh, even though I could really see the strugllie this time it also had its little bright moments when Aprilreorganized the begs on top of the shelves and took that deep breath. Sometimes those little wins are sooo important to keep you going.
As for the organization of the skincare, I struggle with this issue as well (even if not to the same extend as Eunice, since this is also her job) since I'm very visual too but having everything even the backstock out in the open would give me way too much clutter and make me anxious. If you want to stick to the drawers system maybe having baskets inside the drawers where the next things to use are put in might help. I orgnize my sheet masks basket this way, by type and then by expiration date so I know whats in the front needs to get used and I don't miss them and then have to throw them out.
Another option might me a combination of drawers and open storage like for example in a glass cabinet or showcase with lots of shelves and maybe mulitple doors on it?
You guys worked really hard together, both of you should be really proud of the progress!

First, you are both doing a great job working together.
    It looks so much better.
That being said. How would having wall shelves; and nothing on the floor. Then when you need to vaccuum, mop or dust it quick and easy.
Donating your items to a women's shelter might be a possibilitiy. That's of course it hasn't been opened or used in a certain time frame.
Another idea, is to gather all the skin care needed for that moment. Example: cleanser, toner etc. together, put them in a small bin or tray.
Writing the expiration dates on all products with a sharpie marker before storing them.
This way you can take a quick glance and know when to use, donate or throw away.
That should be a habit most of us should get into; myself included. Note: that can be anything, like spices, food items. Use a magnifying glass to see the small print; then write on a label, masking tape
basically anything sticky paper you can write on.

If there is enough wall space isnthe new house, I would put all the products on small shelves (the clear ones that are usually made for frames) so that nothing is hidden behind. Also drawers that are flat, so you can store the boxes horizontally (something like the wide alex from ikea ). Easy to see, easy to take, easy to put away.

You are incredibly patient, kind and understanding. I have helped people who do not want to get rid of anything organize and it’s teeth grittingly frustrating. What I do not understand is 1) touching everything 15 times. Touch it once maybe twice, make a decision, keep, donate, or garbage. 2) why organize stuff that you might just be throwing away, why not just start boxing up all the stuff not needed so that by moving day you’re pretty much done. 3) Why pay to move something that you’re going to donate or trash?

I think your friend would benefit from the "container rule" - in other words, if her container is full, she can't get any more stuff. Basically, she can only keep what the "container" will hold comfortably or in an organized manner. Her room can also be a container, however having a cluttered/disorganized container/room is not "acceptable". Maybe she could think about "gifting" some products to her viewers or friends/family. The one in one out rule could be another "rule" for her to follow. :)

If it were me, I'd keep an excel spreadsheet inventory. It would be very easy to add columns for what type of product it is, how long the product will last after opening, date opened and then have it automatically populate an expiration date. It's a searchable program, so just search for what is close to expiring and it would be real easy to add it into daily use or gift it to someone who would be able to use it by it's expiration date.

This was once again a fun video. Though I gotta defend her here, as long as she's willing to let go of empty packaging and expired products, she is not a hoarder, at least by definition I think. I have a question, why didn't you label the drawers in Korean if English is her second language? Maybe that would help her a bit with putting things back in the right bins. I know my brain has a preferred language, which is the one I can still keep track of even after a long day.

my method for the brand new stuff that still in their boxes is that i write expiration date on top of the boxes with permanent marker ( if u have label maker that works too). i do write them on the stuff that im currently using so i got motivated to finish them before they expired. it works very well for me and i hope it helps others too.
oh, it helps me to not buy more stuffs because before i go out shopping, i make a list on what i run out and see my "stash" to prevent myself hoarding more of them.

~27:52 my suggestion how to help: it seems Eunice does well with an accountability buddy to help so maybe every month she could schedule you or someone to go over and maintain the production warehouse because that is what this is, her warehouse for her content creation videos in a tiny space. Organization takes constant adjustments and is not established on one day.. healthy habits occur over time yet they can be established being around inspiring role models and with quality fellowship with others working on self improvement as well.

Just get ikea tall billy bookcases with glass doors which you can hold anything in them from shoes to all the skincare products. The doors can then have wallpaper, fabric and anything you like to cover up what is inside. I have six of these in my bedroom and I cannot live without them. I have wicker baskets on top for added texture and storage. The bookcases are less than 12 inches deep so they can fit even in small spaces. I use fabric for my door panels which I change out a few times a year just to switch it up. I use starch to stiffen the fabric and velcro to attach. I even have a small tv in one of my bookcases. Open shelving is beyond cluttered looking no matter how organized you are. I too have an extensive skincare collection from Korea. My friend stocks up on them and brings them back from Korea every year when she visits her family. It is cheaper than buying them from Little Korea here in Manhattan NYC. I have half a bookcase dedicated to my skincare products. I keep them in dollar tree bins.
