That's what I thought, long islands are strong drinks. 2 of them would make me feel pretty good, and by 5 I would definitely be drunk. I wonder why the police would even say that, when everyone know long islands are strong drinks.

That was my 1st thought too, why wouldn't authorities know that a Long Island has not only vodka, but gin, tequila, rum, and triple sec. 2 would put me under the table, 5 and I would probably be dead from alcohol poisoning!

@@SleepySloth2705 Exactly. There are plenty of people who have situations trigger Schizophrenia in a later time in life. My step mom has had patients come in and suddenly got Schizophrenia at the age of 30 and even 55 once. My great uncle got Schizophrenia symptoms and was placed in a mental institute in his late 20's to around his mid 30's. He was in the war, which triggered it to happen. Definitely feel like her brother dying and her lack of work probably triggered it.

I think Kaylen's case is much like the death of Elisa Lam. Everything about it suggests that she was having some kind of severe mental health crisis and she didn't get the help she needed in time. There doesn't need to be any history of it, it has to start at some point and there are many things that could trigger such a thing.

Don't drink anything that's already made or opened. I got mickeyed by my first roommate. But that incident saved me from being a victim again. I was working in club in Cincinnati, all other employees, including bouncers got it. When I came back from break, only one standing was the owner. He was yelling at me, saying I caused it. I was laughing bc I had a gut feeling about two guys, dressed in Armani, buying for all employees, overly friendly and pushy. Cops were amazed at my descriptions of the guys, down to color of socks. They matched his little hanky, hanging out of breast pocket. I could even theorize why it happened. New club, down the road, couldn't get customers the right way.

It depends on how dumb and drunk your friends are. I once went out for New Years Eve with my younger sister and cousin. We were all drunk but I was drunk on a whole other level and I wanted to go home. They wanted to stay because it was still early and they didn't want to let me drive via subway,so these two stupid idiots just waved at a Taxi that was already occupied and put me inside with two random strangers on the backseat. One of them tried to grope me but fortunately I was aware enough to slap his hands away. My sister later called me to make sure I made it home, because she had a clear moment and realized what they did. Teenagers are the definition of "fucking up"

I kept looking over listening in as these two guys swore they would take her home after they kicked it at his house first. They lifted her up and started heading towards the door. As a person whose mother became severely mentally ill at 30 I have opinions on Kaylen's case. The mental illness likely wasn't sudden, but people have been blowing off symptoms as stress and personality. Losing a job probably wasn't the catalyst but the straw that broke the camel's back. My mom could have "normal" conversations an texts all the time, and even meet people face to face and seem "normal." I trust the roommate who spent more time around her than family. Sheshould have been given help at least by that 3rd 911 call. Also, if she was having delusions I can easily imagine her drowning trying to save her dog from that river. Or someone else.

Kayelynn definitely had a psychotic break. Just because it’s rare for it to happen so “late” in life, doesn’t mean it doesn’t happen. She didn’t mean to kill herself, but she was hearing voices, her brother had committed suicide before that point, so while it’s normal to want to believe “no she was fine before then, she didn’t have a history, etc etc-“ she was in a crisis and unfortunately wandered too far near water, maybe was trying to “escape” something and fell in. I don’t think this one is mysterious. Sad, but not mysterious.

Most these cases involving drunk men disappearing also involve their friends being just as drunk as they are. Alcohol effects decision making & basic common sense implementation. Really the friends probably thought "He'll be well" because he's athletic, have a rep for being responsible & most importantly, is a man. I personally feel that most people don't worry much about a man being drunk walking alone at night as much as they do for women. People need to understand that there's predators that also hunt for men.

For the Kayelyn case, Schizophrenia can happen at any time in someone's life. It can just randomly happen when they are 30 or even 40 and sad events can trigger it. I have a feeling she just started to have schizophrenia symptoms, but mistaken them to be real. It's sad, but it does happen. Step mom is a therapist and has had 30 + year olds come into her office and began just having schizophrenia out of nowhere. My Grandmother's brother also started having symptoms of Schizophrenia and was in a mental hospital at a very late time in his life, I believe either late 20's to mid 30's. I can also say that mental health issues does not mean you cannot make you unable to speak with people normally. I have mental illness and I know others as well and we can keep a normal conversation.
I have a feeling she was having an episode and walked to the creek and fell in and couldn't get out due to the episode. I do think the roommate should've contacted her family to tell them the episodes she have been having like calling the police on things that were not happening and kept a little guard on her, seeing she is obviously not in a right mind. Then again, it's not their responsibility, but morally, I do think they should've watched her. I literally watched that video and instantly knew she was having some sort of episode involving mental health at that time.
So, I have to disagree on the fact that it was more, especially when the police went to a wedding of all places and were told nothing was wrong and they heard no gunshots.

Not all folks with mental health issues have been diagnosed with it, a lot people like myself avoids medical help due to be affrai of the "stigma" that a label can do, specially people that work. I was able to hide my depression from family, friends, neighbor, coworkers etc. The day I tried suicide everybody couldn't believe why I tried to kill myself because I didnt look or sound depressed. Her father said she was depressed, her roommate said she was acting delusional, the unexplained calls to 911, which were clearly signs of something wrong considering what she was reporting was not actually happening. And then there is the video of her in the parking lot standing in the rain barefoot with no umbrella displaying erratic behavior, seemingly talking to someone who wasn't there. I'm not saying she couldn't have been murdered. It's totally plausible, but to say she had no mental health issues, I think we can say there was something going on with her mental health. And one more thing, during her call to 911 where she reported people in her house, her roommate was heard on the line saying no one is here and the door is locked. Is her roommate a suspect? Like I said, not to be a jerk, and maybe this story is being told the wrong way, but I think it's pretty clear something wasn't right with her mentally. At least at the time of her disappearance.

    Hi, art therapist here!
Regarding Kayelyn, there are more psychotic disorders than just schizophrenia. I believe she could have been suffering from a Brief Psychotic Disorder. For this disorder she only would need to show at least one psychotic symptom (In her case, delusions and possibly hallucinations) and this episode can last anywhere from 1 day to a month. Onset of brief psychotic disorder is due to major stress such as loss of a loved one or in her case, job loss. So just because she did not show any symptoms prior to her disappearance doesn't dismiss this disorder because of its sudden onset.

When she was unable to obtain work she could have felt she failed her brother. She may have been throwing herself into school and work, trying to help others and she may have never truly dealt with the loss of her brother, thinking if she could save others it would help her heal. This is all speculation of course but definitely could have been a psychotic episode, seems more likely to me than schizophrenia or it was foul play involved, which I think is very likely.

Either schizophrenia, Bipolar Disorder 1, or Schizoaffective disorder could have caused her delusional thinking & auditory hallucinations. The real "mystery" of this case is why the police didn't immediately act to get her help. In my current role, my job is to treat people in the exact circumstances as Kayleyn's--police, family, & friends call to request an immediate in-person assessment for individuals experiencing severe mental health crises & I go out to there homes for an assessment. Its so heartbreaking & enraging such a service was not offered to her, or if not available in her area, she hit all the criteria to be places on a transportation hold by the police to the hospital. If this had happened where I live, the police who allowed her to stay in her home while clearly in the midst of a severe mental crisis could be held liable. They should have been held liable in this case as well, so this never happens again. Such a heartbreaking and preventable loss of young life.

If there are people out there killing like this they choose their victims because they cant fight back as hard or they inadvertently were killed by accident while being robbed. Either way the smiley face with the serial killers weren't an intentional thing. One serial killer who used a smiley face with his letter to the police he stated was just a slight he did to mock the police it had zero significance to him at all as with others that had used a smiley face in some fashion.

He was close to alcohol toxic and could have died if they had just left him there. I thanked them and hugged them for doing that. The cops were very good about it too. No arrested and drive the boys home, told the m to come back pick up their car the next day after they were totally sober. My son and me and my husband had a very bad night with him being so sick and out of it. If not for his friends things could have gone very badly for my son.

Friend code dictates that someone in the friend group has to babysit the most trashed friend in the group. The babysitting job usually goes to the DD friend, the wall-flower friend, the struggling-with-sobriety friend, or the most rational/mature friend of the group. And the rest of the group rage on, but someone in the group knows who left with who and how they left, and when friends ask about other members of the group, friends pass the word on. That's just the basics of caring about friends, especially when having a good time together. When it comes to the friend that never drinks having a few too many and has clearly overdone it, it is completely irresponsible of the friend group to not watch out for that person. And in the case of the college kid that was drinking underage, it's not reasonable to assume he was being completely responsible for himself or using the best judgement when drinking with friends at the bar. Teens and young adults have limited experience with anything for navigating the adult world, and therefore could be very short on common sense. So, it's safe to assume that the kid hadn't figured out his own tolerance or limits yet, and his friends were probably entertained watching him get white-gurl wasted, and they probably weren't experienced enough in those situations to not leave every man for himself. It's not a house party, it's a bar in a city; Look out for eachother if you give a shit what happens to one another.
Either that or there's an underground North American ring of InCels plotting murderously sinister schemes, stalking groups of good looking and fit guys out partying together, and executing wasted "Chads" that get momentarily separated from their group. This is a truly disturbed societal exigency we've arrived at.

Why wouldn't they have called every local cab company, to find out who was scheduled that night to work, and interview all of them?? Or ask their employers if there is any strange behavior with their employees, around the time of this murder? Or if there was anyone who called into work the next day, after the crime?? The fact that she made no sense on the 911 calls and her flat mate noticed her odd behaviour means there was definitely something up. So saying 30 seems old for an initial onset well it may not have been schizophrenia and I have a family member who had a psychotic break in his 40s from stress and was later diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He had never had a psychotic break before. It took a few years for him to recover fully and go back to normal even though he is still bipolar we just didn’t notice the symptoms. It’s odd when someone is functional they can hide a mental illness quite well until they have a large trigger.

Ngl I don't see any reason to think the two strippers were murdered. The cabby chased them to get his money back, but they were out of reach so he gave up. They were drunk and full of adrenaline, running around in the dark and unfortunately fell to their deaths.
Throwing out baseless accusations like a mysterious man in the cab (who would have had to convince the cabby to chase them, hopped the fence after them and then killed the 2 men who everyone says were plenty strong enough to fight back all by himself) or it being some conspiracy in the industry just seems silly. I know death is hard to accept but sometimes an accident is just an accident.

I had no idea about the SFK before this…it’s absolutely frightening and chilling! I definitely believe these deaths were homicides and not accidental. Even if you’re close to the point of being blackout drunk, most people would never have the sense to jump off a bridge or cross 8 lanes of traffic or wander so far away from their hotel. There is definitely foul play involved. If these guys were on drugs then maybe jumping off a bridge or falling into water would be plausible…but none of these guys were on drugs or else their toxicology reports would’ve indicated it. And so many bodies ending up in the river is too much of a coincidence… I always thought drunk girls as opposed to drunk guys were more vulnerable to kidnapping and assault but these stories prove otherwise. It proves guys are just as targeted and vulnerable to being taken advantage of if they’re drunk. I need to read up on SFK this is crazy. Is this still going on? The scariest thing is this could be anyone. It could happen to anybody!

Hundreds? From an interview I found in 2017, the two investigators attributed the Smiley Face Killers as being responsible for 45 deaths. Beyond that, it's incredibly unlikely that a serial killer (or multiple killers) are working together across multiple countries and using a smiley face as their signature.
Among the many issues with the SFK theory, one is the wide variety of different styles of the "smiley faces". Some are just two dots and a curved line for the smile. Others have a circle drawn around them for the head. At least one has what looks like a tongue sticking out and devil horns.
There are also problems with the locations of the supposed "signature" smiley faces. In some cases, it seems like the two investigators found the smiley face near the location where it was believed the victim had entered the water. In other cases, they found a smiley face at the location where the victim's body was found.

If I might add since they ran in the middle of the night this place is very dark and I wouldn't be surprise if they didn't see how deep it was or where they were.
One of the article I found said there was a footage release to the public where you can see the taxi driver going after them in its car. I think anyone being chase down by a car would run for their lives. The coroner who examined their bodies confirmed the fall killed them. No trace of violence were found.
